It was tough and average at best. the salad was fine and the vegetables were properly cooked. And the carrot cake was outstanding. However, given the fact that I go to EM for a main course, and being disappointed 2 trips in a row, I believe my next "fine" dining experience will not be occuring at EM."

  • "My wife and I had a very enjoyable evening. The waiter was very pleasant, but seemed a little hurried to take care of all of his tables. We ordered the chateaubriand, the first time for both of us. It was a little more rare than we normally like our beef, but was still pleasant. The Brussels sprouts were wonderful, and the mashed potatoes were fine. We were both too full to have desert, but we received a complimentary cupcake as an anniversary gift that we took home. It was every bit as good as the rest if the meal."

  • "We tried Eddie Merlot's for the Friday evening lobster special which was advertised for all you could eat lobster. The website said it included potato and Caesar salad also. Of course when we arrived, the waiter informed us they no longer had that special. All the sides were ala carte which adds a significant amount to the total charge. We made our reservation on the same website so my question is with modern technology they should have updated the "lobster special" or honored it that night for us. They did NOT honor it and we left after eating and will be in no hurry to return."

For a restaurant known for their steaks, I expected something more flavorful. The rest of our food was great though. The service was on point and ambience was pleasant."

  • "I've asked for lobster madness and a beer and waiter like usually they are asking what dressing you'd like for your salad asked me what soup I prefer I thought it is included. So when I got a bill I was surprised by additional $9. Otherwise everything was fine. Thanks"

I had the "50 Shades" martini and would recommend it as well. Will definitely come back again. We had an incredible evening."

  • "Visited for the lobster special. This has continued to degrade to a point that I am not sure I will return next year. The quality of the lobster was marginal at best and I had the Eddie's potatoes. Several of the cubes were borderline crunchy from being under cooked. Usually I have excellent food, but that was not the case on my last visit."

  • "If you love lobster, this is the place for you during their Lent special. Two lobsters for $39.95. Keep in mind the lobsters do not come with sides, so if you won't get full from just lobster meat, be ready to splurge on salad or sides and don't miss the carrot cake. Our service was a bit slow. 3+ hours for dinner is a bit much in my opinion. So don't be in a hurry or have plans afterward."

  • "Went because of the Lobster special( 2 for 39.99). Ordered the calamari as a starter and found it undercooked, tasteless and rubbery. When we told our server we didn't like the item, he quipped "..the sauces make it pop!" and literally sped away. A floor manager came by shortly afterward and offered a replacement (we ordered the shrimp - it was very good), but the server continued to be very...abrupt in dealing with us. We observed that he was not prone to brevity with the other patrons he served. When our servers appear to be harried by our presence or put upon by having to serve us, it greatly diminishes our dining experience. When we pay a premium price, we expect premium service. This was not a typical Columbus dining experience."

The service was fine but we missed the special added experience of the manager. The food was not worth the price it was not flavorful and in fact we had to send one plate back. We had a platinum birthday coupon sent from Eddie Merlots and the new manager wasn't sure how to use it. We will not b going back"

  • "Fridays during Lent, Eddie Merlot's has lobster specials. In our case, we chose the 2 lobsters for $39.95. We each got two 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb lobsters, cracked but still in the shell. We did this last year as well, and this year the experience and the food was just as outstanding as last year. There is also a 3-course prix-fixe dinner available during this season, which two members of our party of five elected to order. (Unadvertised secret: an extra lobster can be had for $20...a good deal!!). Service was great as always."

  • "We've been to Eddie Merlots many times and consider it our favorite go to place for a special occasion. We dined there 3/22 and were early for our 6:00 reservation so not many tables were occupied. Still they placed us very close to the front door and it was a little chilly. The server was very attentive. The food was very good as always, except the steaks which were ordered medium well came out very medium (pink completely throughout). The carrot cake was the largest piece of carrot cake I've ever seen and it was terrific. We missed Vittorio - it seems like he's always there and is just part of the experience for us. We heard the next table ask where he was and I think I got that he's not there anymore. If that's right, he will be missed"

  • "Unfortunaly, side dishes for our entire table of 4 were forgotten. We were told they were almost done just as we were finishing our entrees so we cancelled them. Had to ask for bread which arrived in time for dessert. Server was not apologetic and copped an attitude. Manager stopping by would have been nice. Drinks were compensated but I expect better sevice from a restaurant like this. TP and tissues were empty in the restroom when we left. The food that we had was good as was ambience. Off night? Not sure since we had never been there before, and unfortunatly won't be back."

  • "Found it to be very noisy. Four, sitting in a booth had difficulty hearing each other's conversation. Booth seating was awkward for four people. Lobster bisque very good. The first baked potatoes we received were not completely baked. The server immediately corrected that and brought new ones. Filets ordered "medium" were all slightly undercooked. It was a disappointing experience. Our server did a great job!"

  • "Eddie Merlot's is a fine dining restaurant featuring incredible steaks! The ambiance is wonderful, service is great, fabulous wine list! We had a drink before dinner at the bar and the service was great and we enjoyed the beautiful bar area. My husband ordered the Wagu steak and said it was the best steak he has ever had. The rest of our group enjoyed various dishes that were all outstanding. There are other nice steak restaurants in Columbus but this one was by far the best we have experienced."
