  • "Saturday night was 3rd time here at Eddie Merlots . My chopped salad and grouper were both excellent. The sides: asparagus grilled just right, creamed spinach to die for; broccoli was steamed and had no seasoning on it so very bland; the hash browns which server highly recommended were pasty and tasted like frozen from grocery I could make at home.The filets were excellent though one ordered medium well arrived medium rare so had to be sent back. We have never had outstanding service at this restaurant and this night was worse then usual.We were never served any bread. Server came to table infrequently and timing was odd.Very long delays between wine flights. Desserts are nothing special."

I felt we were ignored by our waiter= never asked for coffee refill could not get his attention because he was busy with other tables. After waiting quite a while for an appitizer to arrive, we waited over an hour for bread and salads to be delivered to our table. My pork chop was so tough it could hardly be cut with a steak knife. And, we had to request flatware for the table. On other occasions, they have been out of listed wines we requested, and fallen short on food and service as well. We would like to see them succeed since it is nice to have an up-scale restaurant in the area, but we have always been disappointed with them."

I like the decor, the staff was attentive and very friendly. It was the middle of the week so seating and wait time were a breeze. I ordered a calamari appetizer and I will go on record as saying the texture was perfect. She ordered a steak and paired it with the recommended wine. She was satisfied with her meal in every direction and insisted I try a bite. I agreed with her the second her sample hit my mouth. I had seared ahi and sweet potato casserole. Very satisfied and we will visit again!"

Overall it come across as a pretentious dining experience with food that is overpriced for the subpar quality. Definitely no interest in returning. "

  • "We were celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary with our daughter and her boyfriend. Eddie Merlot's Burr Ridge is his favorite restaurant. He is a steak man and even though he has lived 50 yrs. in Chicago, he thinks Eddie's is the best for steak. They all had beef, but I love buffalo, so I had the bison. They all tasted it and decided that next time, they would get it. It was delicious. Portion sizes have been drastically reduced, but that is not a bad thing. The staff in Burr Ridge is gracious, knowledgeable, courteous, and unobtrusive, but vigilant. The place to go for good food and perfect service."

  • "My family went out to celebrate a special occasion and were torn between Chicago Prime in Schaumburg and Eddie Merlot's in Burr Ridge. We settled on Eddie Merlot's as it was closer to our home. The waiter was great, very informative, and just that right touch of being present and leaving us alone. Three of the four meals were outstanding, but my Rib Eye was just okay. To be fair, it was cooked perfectly, but lacked flavor. But, I would go back and try something else."

  • "We made reservations, arrived on time and were told to wait 40 minutes. This does happen, but it is incredibly frustrating when you are the only two waiting in the lobby/waiting area. Overall, it is a clean decent place. There are people wearing t-shirts and sneakers and people wearing suits and ties. It runs the entire spectrum. Nevertheless, the food was decent. I would expect a greater variety on the menu (not just 100% meat) and maybe some additional appetizer options besides 1,000 calorie plus. But, it is your traditional steakhouse and rivals the Palm or another similar place."

  • "MY sisters and I went to Eddie Merlot's to celebrate our birthdays and we had a fantastic time! The food was absolutely delicious. My one sister's filet was slightly overcooked but Sadat the Manager was extremely apologetic and got her meal replaced with no question. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection! I would definitley recommend the escargot and calamari as appetizers and please try the Sea Bass and filet mignon! They are to die for! And for a drink if you like martinis, the fifty shades martini and lemon drop are fantabulous! They topped our night with a surprise red velevet cupcake with candle for each of us! All in all we are definitely returning! Great first date place and for celebrations."
