  • "We were seated promptly, at the table we requested. Water glasses filled quickly. Hot bread and olive oil brought to table. My caesar salad was good, and brought with light dressing and anchovies. My filet was slightly overcooked, and not as good as the one I made at home last night (mine was Prime beef, theirs was not. My husbands fish dish was good, and the other woman liked her sea bass.The other man ordered salmon well done. It came medium,he sent it back to be more well cooked. They brought it back to him, still not cooked well.They did finally take it of the bill.The waiter was okay, not anything special. Shared one dessert, ,we ate it so it must have been okay.There are other steakhouses in the area I like better. Won't return."

  • "We arrived at 5pm on a Friday night. We had Tri for our waiter. It was my first visit but my Husband has dined there before. It's quieter during the early hours as we were among the first to come in for dinner. I like to arrive before the dinner rush. I enjoyed the food very much. I had crab cakes, lobster bisque and cedar planked salmon. My Husband had smoked salmon, lobster bisque & dry-aged steak. The wine pairings was phenomenal. I had the lemon sorbet for dessert. It's a beautiful establishment staffed with genuine waiters & waitresses. Thank you, Tri, for your thoughtful suggestions & excellent service."

  • "We won't go back. The best part about the restaurant was the comfortable chairs. Our tuna appetizer was not fresh, we only took 2 bites and they only took it half off the bill. The Brussell Sprouts were drowning in oil and were not cooked thru. The mushrooms and steak were decent but again drowning in butter and oil. The service declined when we sent back the tuna."

  • "I took note of Eddie Merlot's when a local newscaster said they had the best steak on town. Then to my surprise, I received a coupon in the mail a few weeks later. So I decided to take my mom to dinner, because she LOVES a good steak. We had an amazing time, and fantastic meal. I knew I'd struck gold when when my mom said the steak was better than her local faves like Flemings and Capital Grille."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Birmingham-Bloomfield area. However, I was somewhat disappointed with an incident that occurred with the manager on my birthday. The restaurant lists a specific year for the wine we ordered and for the third time, the wine delivered was not the year indicated. The waiter sent the manager over so my husband could alert him to this continued discrepency in their menu that should be corrected as the year listed was a better year for this wine. The manager listened politely, but his attitude indicated nothing will be done about it. My husband assured him we didn't want anything other than to see the menu corrected. The waiter was very apologetic about it ."

  • "Love the food at Eddie Merlots and the drinks are good too. Had the pork chop and this time it was under-cooked. Have had it before where it was moist, tender and deliciously carmelized. This time, not so much. But, I will be back and hope for better next time. A nice birthday treat of a red velvet cupcake was complimentary which I think is so very nice. It's a very pretty place and the service is lovely."

  • "Our friends told us to ask for Marcus. Marcus was wonderful. As busy as he was, he never made you feel that way. We will definetley ask for him every time. I'm going to bring my 86 yr. old mother soon. Maybe just the bar, she doesn't eat very much and she loves burgers. The parmesan truffle fries are outstanding. I'm surprised there isn't the E logo next to it. They are very unique. Can't wait to come back!! Also the ambience and decor is gorgeous, feel like we went out of town for dinner!"

The server was well versed on the menu and wine, in particular, so she suggested we try the wine sampler that included 4 small pour reds for $24 that way we could choose the wine we like for our meal. Unfortunately, we not only misunderstood that the individual glass was included, she did not mention that the wine we both selected was $25 per glass."

  • "From someone who's becoming a regular - my recent experience was - as always - near perfect. Superb food (and most importantly prepared as requested) and wonderful wait staff. (I've been served several times by Dan and Lance and they are the best, but all of the staff have been great). Nice atmosphere - open, airy spaces which are a pleasant change from the usual "English drawing room" atmosphere of other steak houses. Will be back soon."

  • "My husband and I came to Eddie Merlot's to Celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. This was our first time at the restaurant. The décor is very beautiful with a nice open feel - tables not too close together so you don't feel crowded. Our waiter Marcus was wonderful, extremely friendly and helpful. I chose the 10 oz. Filet, my husband chose the Ribeye. Marcus perfectly explained the cook temperatures of the meat. I chose Medium, my husband likes his "rare plus". BOTH steaks were cooked perfectly and were delicious. Best steak I ever had. Only down fall for us was this is a pricy restaurant (a bit outside our normal budget). But its GREAT for special occasions. All sides are a-la-cart but big enough for 2 or even 3 to share. "

  • "Food is great. Service was only okay. She was pleasant when around, but did not see her for long periods. Seemed to take forever to get our beverages. They had a couple of big groups in the side rooms. During our dinner, they put huge stacks of chairs on edge of main dining room, presumably while they cleaned ( our res was for 6:30 on a Sunday night). Thought this was very tacky when there were several tables of diners present in the main dining room. Portions are great, as well. Sea bass was perfect, my guests lovedtheir steaks."

  • "Good visit, food was great wine was great the only complaint would be that we requested out normal server and when we were be seated the desk staff noted that we had requested Tri as out server but we ended up with another who was good but Tri is the reason we came back after our first visit. That visit Wasn't bad but wasn't great, the server was the only reason we returned with the comparative market out there. So while our new server was very good we were disappointed that we did not receive our request. It was awkward as it seemed to not be communicated as we had both servers come seperately to get us started. Of course we will be back and will continue to request Tri as his service is why we do return and drive past so many others."
