Diner Reviews
  • "Great food, as always. There's a reason everyone in Atlanta tells you to try the fried goat cheese balls here (and I always order them when I have out-of-town guests!). Service is consistently good, including this visit."

  • "Went here with two friends and we had an outstanding time. It was just wonderful. The fried goat cheese was a hit as always, along with the stuffed peppers. I had a flat iron steak and that was cooked to a perfect medium, a great experience."

  • "I love Ecco. The bar is a great place to hang out before dinner. Also be sure to order the fried goat cheese as an appetizer and the truffles for desert. Love them. Also, they make the best Old Fashion in Atlanta."

  • "Loved our meal here. Found Ecco because we were nearby and learned they had gluten freee menu. So aware and accomodating and awesome food. Loved everything we ate even the olive oil ice cream. all was good. Definitely woudl go back but was very loud"

  • "I had never been to Ecco before but had read favorable reviews. We really just wanted appetizers and small plates before a show at the Fox and the selection was wonderful. The wine list by the glass was also good. I love the meat and cheese selections and the olives were wonderful! The prices were a little high for the portion sizes but the food quality was excellent. I look forward to coming again to try the main courses."

  • "Went for a birthday dinner with my partner and had a great time. Our waiter was very knowledgeable on the entire menu (food and wine). Food was lovely and so was the wine. Will definitely be back!!"

  • "Our bar/server Dom is awesome! We love and will miss him. We will follow him to his next adventure"

  • "The food was amazing!! The staff was knowledgeable and cleared everything very quickly. They recommended a great wine. It was wonderful!"

  • "Our server Pablo was awesome and took great care of us! This is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta and never dissapoints!"

  • "I'm a little late with this review as we were there for Valentines. I took the risk of surprising my wife with a new place and it did not start well as we were seated directly in front of the path to/from the kitchen. Fortunately, things picked up with our first drinks and the food that followed. Honestly, I don't recall what we ate but the evening was wonderful with great food. Evening ended with a ticket from Park Atlanta (missed the valet parking) but I beat it after-the-fact so even they couldn't kill the buzz in the end"

  • "Some of the Ecco old standards continue to be exceptional!"

  • "The experience starts when you check in. Whether you have a reservation or not (reservations highly recommended), you are greeted warmly and courteously. The bar area is cozy; the main dining area bustling with activity. The menu always has unique items that taste even more incredible than their descriptions such as the Pancetta wrapped chorizo stuffed dates. I don't even like dates and this dish was amazing. Order one of the wood-fired pizzas as a starter to share and you won't go wrong. On a recent visit, we had so many appetizers and small dishes we skipped the main courses but those are delicious too. For dessert, the European pastry platter was declared by our guest to be the best pastry she had ever had anywhere and I agree."

  • "Last night was my second time at Ecco, and the food and service were both incredible once again. My favorites: the pancetta with La Tur cheese, fried goat cheese balls, and chorizo-stuffed dates. Ask for Pablo."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "Went there with 4 other people from work. We had a couple of appetizers and I wasn't impressed- the mussels were mediocre and the dates were good, but only 3 small ones come to an order. Then we all struggled to find something appealing on the menu, so 4 out of the 5 of us settled on the pasta with pork dish that has been on their menu since day 1. That dish was good, but overall the menu was disappointing. They also don't have many reasonably priced red wines on the menu, but what we did settle on was good. The service was excellent."

  • "This was my third experience at Ecco and it proved as great as the others. This was a work outing with out-of-towners, many of which are foodies. Ecco received rave reviews all-around. The group loved the food and the atmosphere."

  • "Food, service, detail - a great combination bringing us back time after time."
    Dined on 3/24/2014
  • "This was an early reservation so noise level was moderate. Might be noisy later in evening. Food was quite good and the appetizers are ample and enough to share. Very good food at a reasonable price for dinner. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Good spot!"

  • "We got there at 6:20 and the place was packed! Our reception was very warm and welcomed our children and gave us a good table. Waitress was fabulous and pointed out some great cocktails. Food wise - appetizers were amazing and entrees did not impress as much. Overall a great experience though."

  • "Wonderful meal with the best service we've had in a long time. The new Ribeye entrée is superb. The cauliflower and the cabbage sides were some of the best ever eaten. We love the low-key atmosphere and great attention. Our server knew everything about the menu we asked. Certainly a place that lives up to the 5th Group reputation."

  • "Solid place with very helpful server, food very good, late in the meal (dessert) met friends and pulled a couple tables together to chat for an hour, no worries holding on to table although filling up, the only small nit, beets were salty that said the server asked if there was anything else we would care to try, I believe the server said they were salt cured."

  • "Visiting Atlanta from out of town - chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend. So glad we did! The fried goat cheese was to die for! Also tried the Monkfish, which was fantastic! Will definitely eat here again when visiting in the future!"

  • "I wait for the waiter so much to tell him the the wine was with something inside that I ate all the food before they change the glass of wine."

  • "We had another wonderful evening at Ecco. The menu was exciting, the service was great, and the food was delicious, as always!"

  • "Service was rushed on a Friday evening with hardly anyone In the restaurant. Servers with no personality. Food was poor. Only good Thing served was the goat cheese balls in the honey glaze."

  • "Great spot nestled in Atlanta's Midtown offering a high energy atmosphere with casual food options. Wine list complements the menu and the service is adequate. Great spot for good fresh tasting food in a no fuss casual atmosphere. Especially liked the minimalist decor which fit the menu and staff. Will definitely return soon and I have heard Sunday brunch is great."

  • "The food, wine and server were exceptional, the only issue I had with the whole evening was the hostess. Upon letting her know we were there for our reservation she became snappy ripping menu's out of customers' hands and upon walking away made extremely rude comments under her voice."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "I am from Chicago and I stop here whenever I am in Atlanta. This food here is made with extraordinary care and passion. From the hosts to the servers everyone is really on their game and the food is just plain out terrific! Atmosphere matches the food in every way. Wine list is really special with some real gems at a reasonable price. Don't miss this place!"

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. We like the menu (delicious small plates, really good pasta dishes), the wine list (you can have a good bottle for a reasonable price....or a great glass), the ambience, and the service is always first rate. I would guess we have eaten here ten times....and taken friends here...and we always have a super experience. It is tucked into a neighborhood between Peachtree and 7th, so you can miss it, but I advise you to seek it out....it is worth it. (The bar scene is great, too)."

  • "Food was Great. We had a group of 5 and shared several dishes. The Flatbread Pizzas are delicious!"

  • "I've gone to Ecco for years and I have always enjoyed it. If you enjoy slowly trying a variety of very high quality meats and cheeses, you will love this. Plus, thin crust woodfired pizzas are unique and delicious. We love to share with two or four of us at the table. The bar area is large and beautiful, and they specialize in very interesting cocktails with unique ingredients and the most recent "finds" for bitters, mixers, etc. The wine list is large and a bit imposing for me. Many Old World wines and most wines are at a high price point, but you can find a few decent ones for a reasonable price. Great desserts also! The ambiance is beautiful, with open kitchen concept. It can be a little bit noisy but I don't think it's too loud"

  • "This was my 4th time dining here and I'm still impressed. The service is outstanding and the food is always fresh, flavorful and interesting. If you like trying new things, this is the place to. You won't be disappointed."

  • "We ate before a Sunday evening show at the Fox. The staff was nice to us and got us in and out in time for the curtain. The parpadelle was delicious, the mixed salad boring and the duxelles not so good. If it had been a 'special occasion', it would have been a little disappointing; as it was, it was a pleasant meal and we left satisfied."

  • "After a last recommendation we made a quick reservation and were able to get in. The food was fantastic along with the service and great cocktails. This was our first trip to Ecco but will not be our last."

  • "Had a great dinner with my fiancé , started off with the fried goat cheese that was immersed in honey and the shaved Brussels sprouts. The pork pasta was delicious as well as the vegetarian pasta! No room for dessert"

  • "From the time we walked in till we set down to enjoy a wonderful food experience, we knew we had made a great choice. Every part of the meal was a delight. Thank You, ECCO!"

  • "Impeccable service! Food was wonderful, without piling a ton on your plate. With apps, it was exactly the right amount. And taste? Absolutely perfect!"
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "Fast, pleasant and efficient service and a good wine list made for an excellent pre-theater dinner. The pizzas, one mushroom the other tomato cheese, were large enough to share but we each devoured our own. Starters of mussels and charred octopus were also delicious. We plan on returning."

  • "Seeing how La Tavola (sister restaurant) is my favorite restaurant, my expectations on food and service were high. Ecco has a great reputation, but honestly, the food was a bit lackluster as well as service for what you pay there. Not to mention that if you're over 40, bring your glasses. The menu is definitely printed for those with 20/20 or better vision. LOL."
