EccoPasta was oustanding!I ate here with a business colleague at 6:30 on a Tuesday. They were moderately crowded with no waiting. I had one of the home-made pastas which was exceptional. My colleague enjoyed his fish dish. I didn't like the first cheese I ordered and they offered to replace it (got the Gouda the 2nd time, delicious!). Looking forward to going back for more.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMidtown favoriteThis place just rocks!!! Servers (even all the bar staff) can give Twain-esque descriptions of all the offerings plus have the balls to give their recommendations.
Try the pizzas - not to be missed.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMidtown gemEvery time I stay in Midtown I visit Ecco at least every other night (yes, it's that good, and I'm a foodie from Boston.)
This trip was 3-for-3.
Did tapas one night; pizza another; entree for the 3rd night.
Super-fresh summer squash salad was to-die-for!!!
Servers are top-notch.
Ask for their input to really enjoy your meal.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFried Goat Cheese Balls!!!The fried goat cheese balls were delicious, perhaps the best thing we ate all night. The Pappardelle with braised pork was the best entree our table ordered. The quail lacked the flavor you would expect and was a little dry. The cocktails were fresh and made you forget about everything else. We will be back.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHere is the placeGreat in town meeting place. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. Great menu with a wine list to match.
Save room for the olive oil ice cream w/sea salt for desert!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Anniversary DinnerWe love Ecco! We went for our anniversary dinner. Aaron was our server and took great care of us. We sat outside on the patio and had a lovely evening! As usual, the goat cheese appetizer did not disappoint! The meat and cheese plate always has new and wonderful options to chose. Highly recommend this restaurant!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy our experienceWe always enjoy our experience at ECCO. Will be back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great EveningMy wife and I tried Ecco based on a friend's recomendation and on-line reviews. We had a wonderful time! The atmosphere and food were very good, but the staff put it over the top. Chris, our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us with all questions. His suggestions were "spot-on". The manager and front desk staff thanked us and asked us how our experience was. Even the valet staff was friendly. Everyone was pleasant and appeared to enjoy working. This is a definite repeat and worth the extra money.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPapardelle with Braised PorkPapardelle with Braised Pork is a dish to rave about! Pizzas are also good. Fried goat cheese is some of the best in the city. Piquillo peppers stuffed with braised beef, beef carpacio both are delicious. Cured meats and wilted chard also very good. We all hope to return very soon, but will probably all order the Papardelle as our entrees next time.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSo good, went twice in 1 week!On business in Atlanta (Buckhead) extended my stay for the remainder of the week and stayed in Mid-Town. Went on Tuesday night, was surprised at the bustling crowd for a weeknight. After we ate, we knew why. Amazing. So good in fact, that we returned again Thursday night for another round of great wine, great food, and great service. Impressed too, that the owner of this restaurant understands the importance of a professional wait staff. Not turning over his kitchen's great work to some 19 year old to serve it. We had a spectacular assortment of cheese and cured meats. The fried goat cheese (as we're told no table was allowed to dine without a serving of same!), and polished of the parpadelle and the scallops. Top notch!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA memorable meal in Midtown AtlantaWe went to ECCO for good food, pleasant surroundings, a glass of good wine after several stressful days. ECCO met our expections and then some. We had the fried goat cheese with honey and black pepper. Along with a great Riesling, not too sweet, this was the perfect choice to begin our evening. I had the Alaskan char, perfectly cooked, accompanied by a celery root puree. Dessert was chocolate truffle. The restaurant is very appealing to the eye, walls of honey colored wood. Very comfy, yet modern and simply designed. The service was relaxed and not rushed. We had many questions and our server spent time with us explaining the menu and their approach to food preparation and selection.
This was our first time at ECCO, but not our last.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMScratch made deliciousnessIn house cured meats were all excellent. Famous for in house made fresh (real) pasta. Greens were as fresh picked from your home garden! Exclusive wines are superior.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat EveningWe took some friends to Ecco for a nice dinner out. The appetizers are amazing! the service was great! HIghly recommend the meat and cheeses!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellant ExperienceWonderful evening. Good food, great service and well staffed.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMIt always delivers! We dine here regularly and it always delivers a great experience. The food is consistently good with a seasonally changing, creative menu. Service is friendly, attentive and prompt with care taken to explain any new dishes. Even on a busy Saturday night, our reservation time is rarely missed by more than a few minutes. Front of the house staff always make you feel welcome and judging by the familiar faces that we now recognize, they do a great job at keeping their staff - always a good sign.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING FOOD & AMBIANCEA MUST TO VISIT IN ATLANTA. EXCELLENT SERVICE AND VERY GOOD FLAVORFUL FOOD.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMbefore a movieEcco was our choice instead of Atlantic Stn. Service allowed for timeliness. Noise level was a bit overwhelming but glad business was good. Not suitable for kids at dinner/cocktail hours. Food was good as always.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food - Awkward ServiceThe whole food experience was great though the single drawback was the server was foreign and didn't seem to understand the level of service needs to step up in this type of restaurant. We waited over 10 minutes for our drink orders to even be placed and the waiter was barely at our table to refill our other drinks.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, as usualWe've been to Ecco many times. We always enjoy our experience.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousMother's Day lunch was delicious!!! Very fresh and prepared perfectly.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't Wait to Go BackOut party split the following items:
Prosciutto di San Daniele: (moist, melt in your mouth) and peppers stuffed with braised beef both of which were wonderful.
Pappardelle with braised pork was the best thing we had, the pasta is homemade - tender and light, and the sauce was amazing.
Roasted quail was perfectly cooked.
Even the roasted asparagus with homemade aioli was memorable.
We also shared some of their homemade ice cream and the lemon fool with berries which had a nice assertive fresh lemon taste.
It's got to be one of the best, if not the best Mediterranean restaurant that I've been to in Atlanta.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent on small platesWe enjoyed our dinner here. The fried goat cheese with honey and black pepper was an unusual and excellent start with a generous portion. Tuna crudo was also excellent even though the portion was smaller. Treiso pizza was a good surprise. We also ordered a chard with pickled stems side and enjoyed it. Dessert was an excellent clafoutis, not a dish often seen. We enjoyed sampling the excellent wine list, and the variety of serving sizes, but found the prices slightly high for the wines available, even in Atlanta. Service at the start of our meal was superb but slowed as the restaurant filled up.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMRefreshing!Fun place to eat! We went for a birthday, had excellent service and an extraordinary meal. Loved the meat and cheeses for appetizers. Very yummy and different from the norm. Would definitely return!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, drinks, serviceOur server, Ike, was accommodating with food and wine recommendations, seating relocation (our request), and patient humor. Another great experience; this was my third time to Ecco. I had the quail and my boyfriend got their popular flat pasta with pork and tomatoes, which our server highlighted as a popular dish. Both were beyond delicious. Sorbet is always a safe bet at Ecco, too.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic as always!I have never had a bad experience at Ecco. My server was kind and knowledgeable and my meal (including wine and dessert!) was fabulous!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMy all time favorite restaurant!Ecco keeps me coming back, without fail, I never have a bad meal here. I love some of the menu staples (fried goat cheese and olive oil ice cream) and always love the specials. The meal, the staff and the cool atmosphere are always amazing! This is my go-to restaurant in Atlanta.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal! Our very knowledgeaWonderful meal! Our very knowledgeable server added to the delightful experience. This was my second time at Ecco and I will be back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Drinks! We had a blast! This engertic find was just what we needed to top off our evening. It was a memorable experience and I will try to make it back when I visit Atlanta in the future!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for a pre-Fox theatreGreat spot for a pre-Fox theatre dinner! The food and service were excellent. I liked the wine list - some good choices at fair prices. The fried goat cheese lives up to its billing - delicious! The brised beef stuffed peppers were another before dinner treat.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAtlanta's Top SpotIn my 30+ years on this planet, I've had some amazing meals in amazing places. I've never used the term "life changing" to describe them, though - until Ecco. This was my second trip to the restaurant; a dinner with friends to celebrate my birthday. Of my four companions, only one had been to Ecco before. They were quickly converted to fans. We started with the fried goat cheese balls (A MUST) before moving on to a "Chef's Choice" meat & cheese plate. (For the record, the chef makes excellent choices.) We each had a different entree, each one fantastic. Our waiter was the perfect amount of educated, informative, attentive - and absent. I can't gush enough about Ecco! In a city with a plethora of options, this is my clear frontrunner.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSoul PleasingEcco is fantastic beyond words!!! Andrea is warm and welcoming, treating diners like friends. The food is absolutely pleasing to the soul! Everything is delicious beyond description. I have several dietary restrictions, and they were gracious to accommodate my needs. Our server, Michael McGill, is a true treasure, making the experience such a memorable one. McGill knows exactly how to direct you in ordering appetizers, wine, main dishes, and dessert. When you visit Ecco, you must request McGill's table - he makes the trip! The entire experience from beginning to end is spectacular and worth repeating again and again.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe waiter, Pablo, was basicallyThe waiter, Pablo, was basically a sommelier. The food was excellent as always. ECCO is one of my favorite places to eat in Atlanta.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Patio a Magnificent AlternativeNo doubt Ecco is the best food & service in Midtown. We eat at the bar often, and dine at tables for groups dinners. The patio is a delightful treat and change of pace for regulars or newcomers alike. The service as always impeccable, and a group of five, everyone loved all the tapas, all good sizes to share. The grilled romaine with trout was a surprising hit, and the mussels - yum, yum, succulent & juicy, they must be in season. And what better for a mid-week, group share than chocolate truffle balls to cap it all off.
Ecco is always great!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable anniversaryThe service at Ecco was amazing. From the moment I booked on open tables to the valet who brought our car around. My booking was confirmed with a friendly phone call on the day of our anniversary and we were welcomed with smiling faces at the entrance when we arrive. I mentioned briefly to the waitress that it was our anniversary and didn’t really expect anything of it, but she offered to take a photo for us (without asking) and even brought us a complementary desert to celebrate our special day. The food was delectable, the atmosphere classy yet laid back and they had a great selection of wines, whiskeys and spring cocktails. This has got to be one of my favorite restaurants that I have visited in Atlanta as they went out of their way to4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful ServiceMy fiance and I have both been in the service industry before, so service is very important to us. The food can be decent and the drinks ok but if the service is great, we will be back. Ecco had a prefect combination of all three. Our waiter Jim made great selections all night having us often times ask him what his favorite item was. The drinks were very well done and balanced in flavor. The food was delicious. My fiance is gluten free so it really is a treat when more than half of the menu is gluten free so it makes it a lot easier to choose items to share. Ecco really is one of the best romantic dinner venues in Atlanta. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal, great drinks and wonderful service.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI don't have enough supelativesI don't have enough supelatives to describe what a great experience my party of 4 had at Ecco. The food was fantastic. We were guided through the wine list and helped with a wine choice based on our tastes. The wine suggestion was absolutely perfect. The service was outstanding. I love ambience and style when I eat out. This was a trendy, midtown venue. I also have one requirement that, I believe, most people don't care about. Music. There was the sound of soft background music. This always enhances a social gathering. It was our first time dining at Ecco. We will definitely be back. For sure, next time we will experience dining on the patio.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBe warned of the spicy spaghettiI had the Spaghetti, preserved tomatoes, calamari, chilies, mint, bottarga and when I ordered it the waiter warned me that it was spicy. I am a spicy food fan so I was excited to try it. After a couple of bites the top of my head started sweating. It was more spicy than I would have expected and so hot that it overwhelmed the other flavors. So, I rolled the dice and lost on this one. I recommend staying away from the spaghetti dish.
Everything else was great as usual.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant. Meat andGreat restaurant. Meat and chees selections were great and wood fired pizza was excellent. Recommend Poulet Rouge as entree!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is consistently delicious. The food is consistently delicious. The fried goat cheese balls melt in your mouth.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding eveningMediterranean theme-great atmosphere. Tapas or entrees-our waiter suggested an excellent gouda cheese to go with our beef carpacio, & also suggested a very good pasta with pork and peppadews for our entree. The boys had the spicy seafood pasta which was too spicy for we girls, but the boys loved it. The fresh pasta in both was outstanding. Great drink offerings; cocktails, wine or beer. We sat outside as the weather was perfect that evening. The inside atmosphere was very chic. This is a great spot for a special occasion, not inexpensive, but not too expensive either. Parking was not a problem - parking lots & street parking were close by. Attentive but not obtrusive wait staff. This is an adult restaurant.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEat hereAnniversary went extreamly well. The managers of the restaurant were very gracious and worked with me to get flowers on the table befor we arrived. Fantastic setting. Amazing food. Our waitor Ike was really good, knew his food, his wine pairings and was easily able to adapt to our mood. What a champ!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFound this wonderful restaurantFound this wonderful restaurant by chance while in Atlanta for the NCAA Final Four games-our table was ready right away, the service was excellent, and the menu was just right if you are looking to share a bunch of small plates rather than order one big meal, although there were full entree selections as well. Not a single complaint- prices were reasonable as well. Had such an enjoyable meal! Would definitely go back and highly recommend!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Again! This was our second time at Ecco, and once it again it was fabulous, from beginning to end!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly a fun, delicious time!We had the best service and a truly fun time. People who dine here are sociable and lively. The grilled romaine salad with smoked trout was delicious and so unique and the charcuterie plates are larger than normal. We are definitely going back soon.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMEcco's efficient and wonderful! We were running late and due at the Woodruff Arts Center for an 8:00 show. We told the staff and they worked with us, ordered all our food at once and had us out in plenty of time. We had a great time and I went online to get the recipe for their Long Live The Queen martini. It was my favorite!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for tapas andGreat place for tapas and killer ice creams! Nice atmosphere and outdoor seating4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFriday Night FunThe food was fresh and the service in the bar as well as the restaurant was outstanding. Even though they were very busy on a Friday night, our server made us feel like we were the only table she had. Very very nice.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food, especially theAmazing food, especially the olive oil, chocolate & sea salt ice cream!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMthere was not one bad bitethere was not one bad bite of food on our table -- all six of us were happy with our varied choices and everyone else's too!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic! Need I say more...My husband & I came here for his birthday and the food was splendid. We ordered the cured meats, which were beautifully & thinly sliced. We had the beef stuffed padillo peppers with the grilled romaine & smoked trout salad. Pure perfection. Next came the mains: braised pork shoulder tagliatella & walnut pesto with peas and asparagus. Absolute delight! The only snafu came when our desserts and cappuccino arrived. The desserts were not what we ordered & the cappuccino was quite terrible; however, the manager certainly took care of us. We ail definitely be dining here in the very near future. We highly recommend this place simply based upon its outstanding menu & wine list.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
