  • "Nice selection of warm bread to start the meal, The salmon was cooked well but the serving seemed a bit small. The wild mushroom soup was very good. Overall a pretty good meal, but very slow service for a fairly quiet dinner service. We have had the same slow service on previous visits. Took nearly an hour from ordering to getting the main course. luckily we had soup which filled some of the time."

  • "We admired the plates themselves as much as the beef carpaccio and mussels! Our server kindly relocated us to one of the very few booths closer to the window upon our request, which was appreciated. The curtained round tables by the windows for larger parties are lovely. The views are a bit lame as this hotel is located right next to a busy freeway, but there are some trees to provide ambiance. A very nice experience and certainly worth walking the few steps from the attached Grand Villa Casino."

  • "Went here with a party of 5 adults, two children for my mother's birthday. While the menu selection was on the small-ish side and the portions were also small-ish (at least according to the men in the group), I wanted to say how great the service was. We enjoyed the food but I was more impressed by how our server was so accommodating to the small children in our group and that the restaurant was able to provide a kids menu while still having sophisticated dishes for the adults to enjoy."

  • "Although seared scallops were not on the entrée menu we have had them in the past. Our waiter who has served us very well in the past went to the Kitchen and our request was answered. They were delicious and the service and the drinks were excellent. My guests from Montreal always want at least one visit to Ebo when they are here. Thanks again for a memorable evening."

We especially enjoyed the gluten free options and the BC chowder that presented a delicious soup base. My advice- bring your own wine and apply the savings to an extra menu item."

  • "Had the clam chowder, was delicious, got one of the steaks, asked for it medium, came out well done, also had 2 rounds of cocktails with my partner and took waaaay too long, think only the manager was able to make cocktails, If you have cocktails on the menu then have a barman that can make them. Did get a free drink and free dessert for their blunders so was completly satisfied leaving, overall enjoyable."

  • "The food was very poor quality, the risotto was uneatable, the lamb had no taste. No one came to our table to ask how the food was. We mentioned this to the women who took over our table from our previous server to clear the plates and she just smiled and shrugged it off. No apology, nothing. At close to $300 for 4 its hard to believe they can get away with this quality of food."

  • "Short and simple post. MY boyfriend and I came in to use the living social coupon and had a lovely dinner. We started out with the roasted scallops which was presented beautifully on the plate. I ordered the sablefish for the entre and my boyfriend ordered the lamb. We both had quinoa with the dish and first round it came out very salty…the server immediately took our dishes back and the chef made us brand new plates. I appreciated the server's patience with us and her immediate aciton to happily exchange our dishes. Second round, everything was tasty! We didn't order dessert but there were complimentary chocolate truffles at the end of our dinner. The restaurant itself was very spacious and peaceful. It's a nice place to relax after work. "

  • "I took my father here for his birthday. It was a Thursday, so it was not super busy. The restaurant is beautiful. Our server was curious and friendly without being pushy. Ma had the sablefish, pop and I had the sirloin - all of which were cooked perfectly. They make a decent Caesar too! To boot, they brought out a beautiful desert (on them!) For my pop - no idea what they are called but were super yummy. And of course, then we headed to the casino for a bit of entertainment at the slots. Overall, great experience! Will be back for another special occasion with the fam - they've got 3 tables that are set up so they are more private made especially for large groups that looks really cool."

  • "We first experienced food from the EBO chef and his team at the annual BC Chefs Awards evening a few weeks previously - that was fantastic. The EBO head chef won the Chef of the Year Award that evening. We returned and had excellent food again. Service was very good and friendly, and the chef in-charge that evening came out to talk to us. The restaurant has some cry semi-private curtained areas for small groups that looked very interesting, however the open area needs some redecorating to make it more comfortable and inviting."

  • "Reservations are easy with OpenTable however for my experience, the restaurant reported me as no show. I had to prove to OpenTable with my visa slip that I did honor my reservation. The food was mediocre was underwhelming and under seasoned. The "hot" dishes were sadly not hot at all. Service was lack luster for it would appear that the servers were more interested in chatting with themselves rather than actually serving customers. Although it did not affect us directly, from observation, there seemed to have been some disconnect between the servers and the kitchen. At times you could hear the chef repeatedly shout for service. Compared to similar restaurants around the same price range, EBO would rank at the lower end of the scale."

The food was not as good as I was expecting for the price point (steak was tough.) I went for my birthday and ended up having to apologize to my friends for the poor food and service."

  • "Reviews of Ebo are positive for good reason. From the start, staff was warm, welcoming and helpful without being overbearing. The Dine Out menu was generous and interesting--panko dusted baked mussels, perfectly grilled sablefish and discreet but adequate slices of cheesecake or chocolate cake to finish. (We had both.) As well as the mains, we particularly enjoyed the garnishes for each plate--cayenne chocolate with the cake, 4 different presentations of squash with the fish, and a fabulous rice, and rocks--real rocks--with the mussels. All more than satisfying--the care they take as a team is evident. We plan to return for other meals. (Brunch is recommended.) Thanks Dine Out. Thanks Ebo."

  • "A well priced menu and experience at $28. My husband had baked mussels and they were a little bland. I had the mushroom soup which was excellent. My husband had sablefish which he really liked. I had the steak dinner... Which was slightly overcooked ... I asked for medium. The twice baked potatoes were great. Dessert was chocolate cake ... A little too sweet and a pecan cheesecake which was really great. The attention to plating the dishes was nice. I didn't like that the chefs would continually shout "service!"when something was ready. It was kind of annoying and they need a better system. Although the servers were pleasant, we didn't seem to have the same one come by throughout the meal... Odd. I did like the food and would go back."

Servers were friendly, helpful and efficient. Comfortable setting with contemporary urban decor and not noisy - even though restaurant was full when we left. Would definitely go back!"

  • "Went for $28 Dine Out menu. It was very good value. Food was beautifully presented, hot plates and well cooked. Wine list is expensive. Service was competent though long wait between appetizers and main course. Menu was from their regular dinner menu and if priced individually from that would have totalled about $45 - so quite an expensive place to eat. Booths and curtained rooms are private and romantic but most tables are rather in the open."
