Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great Sunday brunch with perfectly prepared eggs Benedict. Included with the eggs we chose the delicious bowl of fresh fruit over the potatoes and we had full pots of coffee to share. It was a perfect meal with friendly, attentive service."

  • "I took my father here for his birthday. It was a Thursday, so it was not super busy. The restaurant is beautiful. Our server was curious and friendly without being pushy. Ma had the sablefish, pop and I had the sirloin - all of which were cooked perfectly. They make a decent Caesar too! To boot, they brought out a beautiful desert (on them!) For my pop - no idea what they are called but were super yummy. And of course, then we headed to the casino for a bit of entertainment at the slots. Overall, great experience! Will be back for another special occasion with the fam - they've got 3 tables that are set up so they are more private made especially for large groups that looks really cool."

  • "EBO restaurant is in the Delta Hotel located alongside the highway in Burnaby and adjacent to a casino. You don't go there for the view but the service is great and the food is excellent and artistically presented. Worth going."

  • "We had an absolutley terrific nite at Ebo from start to finish. We were greeted with a warm, welcome. Our service was excellent, lots of time to decide & speedy food delivery. Everyone in our party had rave reviews about the food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I rely heavily on the reviews I read on Open Table and always appreciate honest feed back. Thank you EBO!!!!"

  • "We first experienced food from the EBO chef and his team at the annual BC Chefs Awards evening a few weeks previously - that was fantastic. The EBO head chef won the Chef of the Year Award that evening. We returned and had excellent food again. Service was very good and friendly, and the chef in-charge that evening came out to talk to us. The restaurant has some cry semi-private curtained areas for small groups that looked very interesting, however the open area needs some redecorating to make it more comfortable and inviting."

  • "met us with some girlfriends, needed a quieter place to catch up and not be rushed to leave the restaurant. The food was great! The waiter great! and place quiet as they seated up in a ack corner - Exactly what we wanted... and did I say the food was great! :) awesome time had by all. thanks EBO ... we will be back..."

  • "Initially after being lead to our table, too long of a wait before server was sent to is."

  • "Reservations are easy with OpenTable however for my experience, the restaurant reported me as no show. I had to prove to OpenTable with my visa slip that I did honor my reservation. The food was mediocre was underwhelming and under seasoned. The "hot" dishes were sadly not hot at all. Service was lack luster for it would appear that the servers were more interested in chatting with themselves rather than actually serving customers. Although it did not affect us directly, from observation, there seemed to have been some disconnect between the servers and the kitchen. At times you could hear the chef repeatedly shout for service. Compared to similar restaurants around the same price range, EBO would rank at the lower end of the scale."

  • "Service was great Food was ok good Speed and delivery from the kitchen was slow probably because they were understaffed... Worth going once, worth going twice is questionable."

  • "Ebo Restaurant is a great place for a variety of wonderful tasting foods. Our food came out hot and perfectly seasoned. The service was good. The restaurant wasn't too busy, so it was a quiet and relaxing evening The desserts were yummy too. Would recommend this restaurant."

  • "Dine out experiences were pretty outstanding. The famous mushroom soup, was delightful, as well as the mussels. The steak and the sable fish was both cooked perfectly. The service was wonderful for both times I was there. Will definitely go back!"

  • "A nice meal at EBO. Went there for the Dine Out menu. Sablefish was okay, portion not huge but my daughter had the steak. It was a good size. Taste was okay, not something we would order again for either. But the seafood choices for the appetizer were delicious and desserts were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Service was impeccable."

  • "We did the Dine Out promotion. Was very impressed with the food presentation and service. Sablefish was perfectly paired with the xo rice. A definite recommend."

  • "It took 45 minutes for our group to even get drinks. We were there for dine out and there was way too long in between courses. The food was not as good as I was expecting for the price point (steak was tough.) I went for my birthday and ended up having to apologize to my friends for the poor food and service."

  • "Reviews of Ebo are positive for good reason. From the start, staff was warm, welcoming and helpful without being overbearing. The Dine Out menu was generous and interesting--panko dusted baked mussels, perfectly grilled sablefish and discreet but adequate slices of cheesecake or chocolate cake to finish. (We had both.) As well as the mains, we particularly enjoyed the garnishes for each plate--cayenne chocolate with the cake, 4 different presentations of squash with the fish, and a fabulous rice, and rocks--real rocks--with the mussels. All more than satisfying--the care they take as a team is evident. We plan to return for other meals. (Brunch is recommended.) Thanks Dine Out. Thanks Ebo."

  • "The sablefish was mouth watering and the desert was delicious. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect - not too quiet, not too loud. Thanks to the dine-out menu I will make an effort to go back to EBO specifically for the sablefish."

  • "Overall the 3-course meal is very good. I don't usually eat dessert but the desserts we had were surprisingly good and high quality. I really enjoyed the overall experience dining there."

  • "great lunch spot for anyone working in that area. Service and food was good. Being able to make reservations helps."

  • "A well priced menu and experience at $28. My husband had baked mussels and they were a little bland. I had the mushroom soup which was excellent. My husband had sablefish which he really liked. I had the steak dinner... Which was slightly overcooked ... I asked for medium. The twice baked potatoes were great. Dessert was chocolate cake ... A little too sweet and a pecan cheesecake which was really great. The attention to plating the dishes was nice. I didn't like that the chefs would continually shout "service!"when something was ready. It was kind of annoying and they need a better system. Although the servers were pleasant, we didn't seem to have the same one come by throughout the meal... Odd. I did like the food and would go back."

  • "we ordered from this set menu selection, and both of us really enjoyed our choices. Entrees of Sablefish and Sirloin Steak were nicely prepared; both delicious and visually appealing. Servers were friendly, helpful and efficient. Comfortable setting with contemporary urban decor and not noisy - even though restaurant was full when we left. Would definitely go back!"

  • "To get right to the point, I have been recommending Ebo to my friends and associates since my wonderful dining experience during Dine Out Vancouver. As we live in Port Moody it is a bonus to have such a fine restaurant a short drive away. Hats off to the chef. It was a memorable meal!"

  • "Went for $28 Dine Out menu. It was very good value. Food was beautifully presented, hot plates and well cooked. Wine list is expensive. Service was competent though long wait between appetizers and main course. Menu was from their regular dinner menu and if priced individually from that would have totalled about $45 - so quite an expensive place to eat. Booths and curtained rooms are private and romantic but most tables are rather in the open."

  • "Food was excellent. The steak was tasty and cooked to perfection. The ambience is comfortable with low lighting. The service was not so good. Long waits for drink refills, the cheque and the credit machine. Great location next to the casino with lots of parking. Overall I would recommend this place if you have time to wait."

  • "One of the best restaurants in Burnaby. The 6 oz top sirloin was cooked to perfection. Would recommend this to all my friends."

  • "This was our first time at EBO. We really enjoyed our meals. Our dishes were executed perfectly. Exceptional value for the quality of food provided. Service was warm and friendly. We will definitely return to sample the regular menu. Will recommend it to all my foodie friends."

  • "Went to Ebo to try out a new (for us) place. Pleasantly surprised it was also during Dine Out Vancouver event. Tried some excellent dishes at very reasonable prices. Service was attentive, friendly and not pretentious. Despite being in a hotel and right beside a casino, ambience was just right and we look forward to coming back."

  • "This is a great dining experience to combine with a trip to the Grand Villa casino next door. The menu is full of locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, and the dishes are executed perfectly. The wine list has many BC favourites, too. Delicious food and top-notch service; we will certainly be back!"

  • "Nice to find a local restaurant with delicious food and good service so close to home. We all had the baked sablefish and it was amazing. The mussel dish was served around very large stones on the plate - strange. The mussels were very small but yummy none the less."

  • "I have been to EBO a few times now and it has been consistently good."

  • "We were a larger group of 10 people. We were pleasantly surprised to have a room that had a glass sliding door allowing us to close off other noise, adjust the music level ourselves, which allowed for a wonderful meal including conversation. The scallops were exceptional, the chocolate ganache amazing, really all the food was superior. Our server was friendly, attentive and we all were impressed. I had only eaten here for lunch but it was perfect for our larger group"

  • "EBO is fantastic. The atmosphere and service is top notch and is perfect for an intimate romantic dinner, a business dinner, and a big party. We love that the tables can be separated by sheer curtains. The food is terrific. The rib-eye steak, the risotto, the cream of mushroom soup, the seafood chowder, and the scallops are our favourite dishes. The scallops at EBO are the best in the city and, quite possibly, the best I've ever tasted."

  • "We had a group of seven and requested a semi-private dining area in our reservation. We had a lovely circular table which was separated by a curtain from the other area. Service was suburb and food was good. The chef even came out to see if we enjoyed our meals. Overall, a great place in Burnaby for fine dining."

  • "We went to EBO for New Year's Day Brunch. Compared to other downtown hotels, the price at EBO is fairly inexpensive, so our expectation was low. To our surprise, food was very good. There were plenty of appetizers to choose from, hot items were tasty, especially the roti and the lamb chop. Service was excellent. We look forward to their Mother's Day Brunch."

  • "A friend and I had dinner reservations at Ebo on New Year's Eve and were surprised to find it was a $78 per person buffet - not noted on the Delta Hotel's website when we booked it two weeks prior. However, it was an extensive buffet and the was food was great. It's a busy restaurant serving as the main dining option for the hotel. As such it's somewhat utilitarian decor wise but no complaints about service or quality."

  • "It was a limited Christmas buffet with turkey, beef, lamb and seafood. All of the food was very tasty. The service was very friendly and everyone was very helpful."

  • "Nobody could host Christmas dinner this year due to, let's say, some family issues. EBO is central for all parties, and priced just right. No idea what to expect but was happy to have found something open and reasonable. Didn't have a lot of expectations so we were thrilled with our experience. The buffet was excellent (organic turkey!), the well-staffed service was great (no evidence of my brother and his multiple trips to the buffet), and the atmosphere was wonderful (nice touch with the festive ice sculptures). Was particularly pleased with the layout of the restaurant, too. Big round tables for dining and a multi-station buffet. We'll be back. Thanks for saving Christmas, EBO!"

  • "Not the first time at Ebo, and again very impressed with the level of service and quality of food. Our server was friendly, attentive and v. professional. They could improve their scotch menu. Scallops & sablefish were perfectly cooked and artistically presented...complex flavours blended well. Surprise "happy birthday" dessert plate was a very elegant and thoughtful touch. Can't wait to go to Ebo again. Keeps up the fantastic work ~ huge kudos to the chef & staff."

  • "We were a group of six for a Christmas get together dinner. The server was very good at answering all our questions. The chef was accommodating in making changes for food sensitivities. The walls separating some of the tables provided some privacy so as not to disturb others while dining."
