Diner Reviews
  • "Menu isn't overwhelming and food was delicious. The Mac & Cheese is a must get. The dry aged burger was awesome. The oysters were tasty. And cocktails were yummy. Scene was low key but active - perfect for what we wanted."

  • "Been here twice now and would absolutely come back again. Oysters were fresh and entrees were delicious."

  • "Great location and burger. The beef was outstanding and made a very good burger. You can't beat the excellent location and nice street views. Excellent ingredients but the preparation of the martini, bread, and oysters could be improved. I liked the place and will come again but wish the rough edges were smoothed out."

  • "My husband and I had a great Saturday dinner here, the table was cozy and one of the many window seats on the corner of Lexington Ave, good for taking in the crowd. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive, and everything came out fast! Tables are a bit small and open, so try to keep the party similar. We will gladly return after this first visit!"

  • "What a great addition to the UES restaurant selections. Our first time trying EATS - we loved it. Try the kale caesar salad - fabulous. Their salmon is great, too. My husband had the daily soup and the mushroom risotto. We loved our meal, the ambiance and the staff. Sat a the bar which was fun on a Saturday evening as well."

  • "I had a meeting with 2 other ladies and we had a great time at Lexs; the Martinis are always so perfect! Kale Cezar Salad, Steak Tartare, Pork Ragu, Salmon... all to perfection!"

  • "It felt welcoming to have the waitress know what our usual favorites were. Their burgers are great and that's what we ordered."

  • "The food was almost all outstanding. Perfectly prepared mussels and frites, a great ragout, etc. The cod was very good, but not as outstanding. Service was very good. One note: the front area, by the bar, is quite noisy - so if you want a quieter evening, ask for the seats along the side street area of the restaurant - much quieter."

  • "our waiter was attentive with a sense of humor. drinks took a while to arrive; perhaps because this place specializes in martinis and we did not order that type of drink. menu was limited but our 2 salads were quite tasty and large. we had to ask for bread and when we got it, it was 3 slices- enough for 1 for each of us. noise level was so high that it was very challenging to carry on a conversation. would be an improvement if menu was expanded and drapes or tapestries put up to absorb the noise level."

  • "I love their burgers and kale pear salad so that's my usual there. We had a new waiter tonight and he was delightful."

  • "Great menu with solid service! Would definitely return!"

  • "We visited after purchasing a AAA coupon for oysters and martinis. Those were okay, though both of the drinkers couldn't taste or feel the alcohol in their cocktails. There was little on the menu for the celiac at the table (gluten-free) though the kitchen was willing to make some mashed potatoes. For those without food restrictions the meal was sub-par all around (tiny burgers, over-seasoned tartar, etc.). Best part were the homecooked potato chips. The great part was they stuck us all the way back in a corner and were happy to let us hang out for hours. We had a party of four and needed to talk so this was perfect. We tipped well, but won't be back."

  • "After buying a "special" that included 12 acceptable oysters and 2 drinks, making a reservation for 1:00, mentioning the special, having the reservation confirmed, receiving an email reminder, I received. A phone call ONE hour before saying they do not accept those specials before 3. It was stated that it was written on the special. I read the whole thing to the person. It was not stated. No apologies. When we arrived, had to go through the same ordeal. Not a warm and fuzzy experience with management. Good one with staff. Deadline for special running out. Had already overpaid, was leaving town. No alternatives."

  • "Clubby, warm vibe. Yet still hip and upbeat. Nothing like it the nabe. Quality ingredients and skillfully prepared. Bartender knows how to make a great martini."

  • "Eats has a nice setting and the place is very homey. The food is good and they were very welcoming from when I stepped in there, until I left. However, I asked for ketchup, with the waiter, as well as the maitre d' present at my table. Both heard me and responded to my request, but the ketchup never came. I decided not to ask again because if there are two people present and none respond to your request after they both heard it and agreed to get it for you, then there was no point. Aside from that, the check also took about 10-15 minutes to come since their system went down, which would not have been such a big deal had they not botched the ketchup delivery and it was not so cold, so we were in a rush to head out. The food was good though."

  • "First time visit to a location that has changed a few times in the last few years… I think they have it right this time. Get the Shrimp & Tuna Ceviche to start. It is the best I have ever tasted. I would go back just for that alone. Phenomenal! Food was creatively well prepared. Our waitress was friendly & attentive."

  • "I keep forgetting how good their burgers are until I order one the next time. You must try the kale pear salad if you go."

  • "Our server was very attentive and I can admit the food was delicious. I had the Leek Ash Cod and my coworker had the Lamb Burger. We'd both read the mixed reviews and decided to take the chance. It just wasn't worth the price. In no world is a burger worth $20, regardless of the time of day."

  • "Great place for a burger. Non-complicated menu - fast service. Some seating is close and if you're planning on "meeting" for lunch, don't plan on the conversation being private."

  • "We went for brunch on Sunday, based on its hamburger and oyster reputation. The hamburgers were good, moist and hot, the service was friendly, but otherwise, nothing special. Limited menu for a Sunday Brunch. Waitress told us the orange juice was fresh squeezed, but none of us believe it after they served it, At minimum, it was diluted with water. And it was only $3. Brunch cost $160 for six people, a bit pricy considering no apppetizer, 3 drinks, no desert, one juice."

  • "Went to Eats Saturday night and once again it was great! Sat at the bar and had all appetizers this time - Steak Tartar, Pumpkin Gnocchi and Asian Fried Oysters - all perfect!"

  • "Eats offers a wide range of intriguing dinner options. From Oysters to Steak Tar Tar to French Onion Soup, it all was amazingly prepared and presented."

  • "My parents are in town and it's always a bit of a project to find a great restaurant that's not too expensive and who's menu options are not too "fancy" or "out there" for them. Eats was the perfect find! My parents were able to find great options they really enjoyed while my brother and I could indulge a little bit of the foodie in us - everyone was happy! We started with the kale cesear (how can you go wrong!) I had the Leek Ash Cod and it was fantastic, the fish was perfectly done and the flavors in the preparation were a great complement. If you're looking for a great neighborhood, intimate atmosphere with a wide menu of options this is a great place."

  • "Tried Eats for brunch on Marathon Sunday but was craving a burger so we tried the beef and salmon burgers, and they were really really good. The beef one came with avocado, mushrooms and cheese - and fries of course - and was cooked just right. The salmon one was accompanied by a salad and tartar sauce. All around delicious, plus the atmosphere was very relaxed/enjoyable and both the hostess and our waiter were really great. Look forward to going back!"

  • "This place was packed tonight! I think their most popular dish is their steak burger which Is what I usually get here. Also, highly recommended is their kale pear salad. Many people seem to use group ons here for their oysters."
