A word from eat here - Siesta Key
The Eat Here restaurants in Sarasota and Anna Maria Island were recently selected as two of Florida"s "Best New Restaurants" as part of Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards. The award was particularly gratifying for the team at Eat Here's parent restaurant, the Beach Bistro, which has long been enthroned in Florida Trend's "Golden Spoon Hall of Fame" and ZAGAT's "Top Restaurants in America.

Eat Here was previously selected “Best New Restaurant” by newspapers on Anna Maria Island and in Sarasota. The third Eat Here has now opened on Siesta Key to similar rave reviews.

Eat Here celebrates chef-crafted, Gulf-Coast cookery featuring presentations of local farm products, fresh, locally-caught seafood and inspired pizza and tacos. The Eat Here bars serve traditional and creative cocktails, craft beers, and wines from pimarily family-owned vineyards.

Eat Here’s chef staff is trained in the Beach Bistro's school of commitment to culinary excellence.

Diner Reviews
  • "Reservation for four at 7:00 on a Saturday. Restaurant was half empty, which should have been a sign. One of our party ordered the pizza of the day. Fifteen minutes fate ordering, waiter came back and said they were out of pizza dough. Another person ordered the grilled shrimp, lighter portion. For $16, got 3 medium size shrimp on a bed of mediocre mashed potatoes. In general, very over-priced for average quality food."

  • "Sad to no longer see the collard greens on the menu, but the pot roast was as good as ever. Make your own pizza is so fun for my four year old, who spent so much time at the kids' activity table, it was like a romantic dinner for two. All three of us finished as members of the Clean Plate Club!"

  • "We were a party of 17, all family! The restaurant had our tables. all set up and ready for us! A table for the kids, there were seven, and one for adults, our server Ann was very friendly and a very good server. Thanks for a great evening, we'll be back!!!!!!!"

  • "We had the mussels and fish of the night. Both were excellent! I recommend this restaurant. We will be returning for another excellent meal. We are glad we came here to eat on Fathers' Day."

  • "Those who ordered the veal meatloaf really enjoyed it. Were happy to reservations, especially on a Friday night."

  • "Our waitress was awesome - attentive and gave us a great wine recommendation. Clever menu on a clipboard and different choices."

  • "Sadly, although the service was pleasant and earnest, the food underwhelmed and the price overwhelmed. It's unfortunate. "

  • "Not sure if that's a command or a recommendation. Either way it was a very good spot. Glad we found it. Thanks, Open Table!"

  • "Dinner here after a day at the beach. Our appetizer of tempura beets was amazing. We really enjoyed the seafood stew and braised beef tacos, although the portions could have been a little bit larger. Overall the food was delicious and the service excellent."

  • "Loved our experience at Eat Here! We have been traveling to Siesta Key for 10 years and have just recently started to find restaurants that offer creative and high quality food. Eat Here offers an excellent range of menu choices to satisfy any type of diner. I ordered the meat loaf and it was delicious. Definitely the comfort food I was craving with a high end feel to it. If you want seafood or other meat choices, they offer many creative and tantalizing options. My husband ordered the filet mignon and my sample melted in my mouth. Might have to try that one on our next return. I am so pleased that Eat Here decided to come to Siesta and I look forward to going back again soon!"

  • "Nothing to be done about that, but my guest and I had trouble hearing each and hearing our waiter, but neither of us are hard of hearing by any means. There was no bar scene to speak of that night nor was it particularly busy. it's just the way the acoustics work. While it's very lively at the downtown restaurant with a very active bar scene, for some reason it's easier to hear each other there. "

  • "The waiter was a bit inexperienced. The salad I was served came without any dressing, I had to ask for it and before I could finish it, my entree was being served. Out of curiosity, is a bread basket ever served? All of our entrees were quite delicious and we would order them again. But I must commend the restaurant for having such a wonderful array of desserts that I am sure are made on the premise. It was a good dining experience. "

  • "Don't let the name fool you, this place serves very good food. Lobster and shrimp tacos were great. Fries with garlic are delicious. Wine list is decent and the service was really good. Our server Skylar was fantastic. The table sitting next to us thought so as well. Bill for the four of us was $115.00 before tip with 2 glasses of wine. Fried beet app was a little too big if you are not sharing."

  • "Nice place to walk to in the SK Village. Good tacos and nice casual place. "

  • "We have been there several times over the years. However, this will probably be our last. It was not crowded and service was very spotty and not particularly friendly. Their signature pot roast had to be sent back for raw potatoes! They no longer serve bread with meals , but, you may purchase some. Overall, I found it to be very mediocre. Also, the room could use some updating."

  • "The food at Eat Here Siesta Key is wonderful. I always end up ordering the grilled fish special of the day or the salmon. It comes with the sweet corn casserole which is the best. I could have that as a meal! My friend ordered the Mahi fish tacos and said they were the best she ever had. Coming from a New Englander, that is quite a compliment. It can get pretty noisy, which is the only draw back but the food helps you overlook that."

  • "Menu seemed limited for a Sunday. No valet parking and parking is an issue. Server answered most questions. Limited choices for our older guest. Settled for a grilled cheese sandwich. Fish tacos were great. I expected larger shrimp for the entrée. Pineapple cake was a tough texture. Generous portion for crème Brule. Coffee was not very hot."

  • "Good place, small with a good menu. Food is excellent. Only drawback is the high noise level"

  • "Dinner was at 6:30 and dining area crowded but spaced out fairly well. Lots of children and very loud but expected. That is what makes Siesta Key exciting! I would recommend for a fun and relaxed group of people."

  • "Unfortunately we had a waiter on his first night at Eat Here. He tried his best and was very polite. We were disappointed after we had the speech about how every thing was cooked to order all freshly prepared. My Daughter-in-law loves seafood and said even her shrimp was over cooked. My son ordered the veal meatloaf and it looked as though the slices had been pan fried, all dark and hard around the edges. My dinner & my husband's were edible. The best part of dinner was the delicious Onion Soup and the Titanic salad. No rolls or bread were offered with our dinner. We would return for lunch for the soup & Salad"

  • "The bruschetta was wonderful, although the grape tomatoes would have been easier to use if cut in half. Our seafood was very tasty and the roasted green beans were addictive!"

  • "Very tasty food. Service was excellent and attentive. Server was knowledgeable. Menu was varied enough to please many types of foodies. You were not hurried although restaurant was full. Lots of hard surfaces in the room made the noise level very high. Could use some softening touches to mitigate sound. All in all a very good experience. Would definitely recommend eat here and will go again during our stay."

  • "We enjoyed our meal here ,booked through Open Table ,and on a very busy evening the reservation was noted and a table found .Although we did ask for a high table the reception had not read the notes in the request . The meal was very good ,fish pate starter excellent and my husband enjoyed the pot roast . I had Monkfish which was good . Dessert are also very good ....all in all a very welcome change from some of the restaurants in the Village and a real PLUS to be able to reserve a table ."

  • "I was looking for an unqiue food experience and I found one at eat here. A number of unique and excellent menu items. The meatloaf was excellent, the quinoa salad was very good and my kids were able to find seafood selections that were very flavorful. Definately worth experiencing if you like unique food flavors."

  • "We visit Eat Here often. Every time we have out-of-town guests we bring them to Eat Here and everyone is very happy with the food choices and quality."

  • "We always enjoy our dinners at Eat Here. My husband raves about the ribs which he describes as just a bit different but wonderful with the meat so tender it falls off the bones. I had the salmon with horseradish sauce. I must admit the salmon was so good plain with the spices they cook it with that I didn't touch the sauce which I had served on the side. My all time favorite is the sweet corn suffle that they serve as a side......it is wonderful. Everything we have had here is very good. Our only complaint is it can and often is very noisy. We put up with it because we like the food and we can walk there. We'll be back!"

  • "Hillary was the perfect server. She made sure we were well cared for throughout the dinner. Food was really good especially the surf and turf special. The turf alone was perfect."

  • "We were disappointed in our meal. Food was just OK, not nearly as good as when this restaurant opened a year ago. We had the feeling most of the entrees were pre made. The meat loaf was dry and did not have much flavour and had a very solitary, lonely single slice of mushroom on top. The bruschetta was also disappointing - didn't use Italian bread, pesto was dry and the roasted tomatoes would make a lovely vegetable, but they don't work on top of the Bruschetta. Overall, a disappointing meal."

  • "We were seated immediately and our drink orders we're taken. We were given ample time to peruse the menu and our food came out promptly and was hot and delicious."

  • "We had a good sampling of the menu at our table of five. The signature cocktails were great. The kale salad was tender and tasty. The appetizer version of the ribs was really more like a lunch as it came with slaw and potato salad. The onion soup was great but the heart attack hot dog was really salty. Our dinners were well prepared. The shrimp wee a bit small and lacked real flavor but they were the only just ok dish we had. The only downside was the noise level. Think college bar scene volume. The table across from us was especially bad and once they left and a few others cleared out it did get better"

  • "Wonderful sauce on wild Alaskan salmon. And just in time for happy hour prices on wine and a cocktail. Full-bodied, rich French onion soup. Friendly and knowledgeable waiter was very helpful in guiding our choices. Need to find a new source for coffee. Too chilly to eat inside. On a side street so out of the traffic and noise."

  • "food was excellent. Perfectly prepared, nicely presented, served appropriately hot. The service; however, was terrible. It was not only slow, but the server appeared flat and uninterested. We asked her questions about the menu. Her answers were vague. Once food was served, she seemed unavailable. Unfortunately, our intimate dinner was not all it could be. We noticed other servers engaged their clients. Hopefully our experience was an exception."

  • "We went at 5:00 and sat at the bar . The happy hour small plates looked delicious but we ordered off the main menu. I had the fish of the day cooked with their special house seasoning and light lemon and light pesto and the corn pudding/soufflé . Absolutely the best flavors ! My husband loved his Mahi fish tacos. They had a great wine list and Stacy and other male bartender were extremely nice and welcoming. We went on our last night or we would have gone back ."
