A word from eat here - Siesta Key
The Eat Here restaurants in Sarasota and Anna Maria Island were recently selected as two of Florida"s "Best New Restaurants" as part of Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards. The award was particularly gratifying for the team at Eat Here's parent restaurant, the Beach Bistro, which has long been enthroned in Florida Trend's "Golden Spoon Hall of Fame" and ZAGAT's "Top Restaurants in America.

Eat Here was previously selected “Best New Restaurant” by newspapers on Anna Maria Island and in Sarasota. The third Eat Here has now opened on Siesta Key to similar rave reviews.

Eat Here celebrates chef-crafted, Gulf-Coast cookery featuring presentations of local farm products, fresh, locally-caught seafood and inspired pizza and tacos. The Eat Here bars serve traditional and creative cocktails, craft beers, and wines from pimarily family-owned vineyards.

Eat Here’s chef staff is trained in the Beach Bistro's school of commitment to culinary excellence.

Eat Here! in the Siesta Key Village is a true hidden gem. I have always wanted to dine there because the menu read fresh, hip, new and affordable! And any place that prides itself on a Seattle Grilled Cheese or Heart Attack Hog Dog has GOT to be good, and it was. I'm not going into the details of our night because it was our anniversary and Eat Here made it .......perfect. The service, the ambiance, the food and location were spot on. The interior of the restaurant is engaging and fun. The chef obviously is passionate about his/her craft because we left that night more in love than ever. Eat Here. I cannot wait to go back!

We had eaten at the location on Main at and loved the style and ambiance. We enjoyed the food as well. The one on Siesta was not where close to that. Nothing really stuck out as wonderful for the price you pay. Fish cakes we a bit bland. My friend ordered the salmon which was dry. Our gulf shrimp was nice and flavorful, as well as the coffee rubbed tenderloin, but each was served simply on a bed on okay mashed potatoes. Would have expected somthing more upscale and with better flavor for the price. The website mentioned happy hour only to be told you had to sit at the bar! Which it did not specify online. The specialty drinks were to sweet with not much kick. We skipped dessert to go somewhere else fearing that it would also be just ok.

I truly enjoyed my first visit to "Eat Here/Siesta Key" Many enticing menu choices and mine (seafood stew) more than lived up to the written description. Kale appetizer sounded yuk, couldn't get enough! Waiter was a pro (refreshing change) besides being sincerely friendly. Dark decor, 'edgy'; take a minute at the door and pick your own table: there are some cramped quarters. Charge me more but do not serve a weak cocktail (a disappointment). So, food is the definite strong point: it would be strong in any location; Siesta Village? Really? Oh yes!

We went to Eat Here with another couple (who had never been there before) ordered cocktails & proceeded to order our choices. I stated I was not very hungry and just wanted the Caesar salad ($10) and could the kitchen possibly add a bit of chicken, shrimp, or salmon to it. Our waited said no, but suggested I order the "lite" choices(meaning small plates) and he could then turn that little salad into a caesar. Upon receiving it, there was a huge piece of salmon on the plate and a small, overly dressed, salad. And the price was $28. We didn't realize this until we got our bill. Pretty much of a shocker---and totally misrepresented. I'm not sure we'll eat at eat here again.

We had a great dinner. Started with the kale/kenwa combo then had the lobster/shrimp tacos and finished with the creme brulee! They also have a yummy pineapple infused vodka that went nicely with my meal. Will go back again!

We really enjoyed our dinner starting with the delicious Kale and Quinoa salad! The ribs were tasty and tender with the most yummy fries that may have had a bit of sprinkled truffle oil. The salmon dish with the flavorful corn cake was also very good. We were happy foodies!!!

Our recent visit was our second time at Eat Here and we were NOT disappointed. This dining experience is as extraordinary as the beach. Eat Here offers an eclectic menu that is off the beaten path from the standard fish and chip combo. We thoroughly enjoyed fresh Serendipitous Salad followed by the Seattle Style Grill Cheese. This is NOT your elementary school Bunny Bread/plastic-wrapped American Cheese kind of sandwich. The meal was hardy and savory with beautifully-melted cheese housed in between 2 golden-toasted homemade slices of bread. The service was superb! The entire staff was attentive without being intrusive and patient with our questions. Eat Here isn't a suggestion; it's a directive you won't forget and will not regret.

Eat Here said I could call them at 1PM to make a reservation or use their web site. Unfortunately, their website goes to Open Table, which said I couldn't get a reservation for a table of 8 at 5:30 for 2 months. I tried to make 2 reservations for tables of 4 and couldn't do that either. I called Eat Here at 1:00 and a cheerful voice answered and took my reservation. I could hear her smile over the phone!

Everything we had was fantastic! From the brushetta appetizer to the swordfish entree my husband chose (which he raved about & trust me, he's not a man to rave) to the lobster & shrimp tacos I had were terrific! My watermelon mojito was great as well. Can't say enough good about this place. Our server was spot on as well.

One of best options in Siesta Key Village- shrimp & lobster tacos were very good- tempura beets missed the mark. Nice space with plenty of seating although it felt a little empty as there were about 5 tables in use on Friday evening- and they have their own parking lot as well as a free lot next door. I would go back - great for a light meal after a day at the beach.

For the prices that Eat here charges, you would think that they would have a slightly better quality silverware. 2 out of the 3 silverware settings at our table were dirty. No bread basket or extras.... My "lighter fare" salmon was the size of a child's portion, opted out of the corn side that came with it and got the green beans, which were very good. The shrimp and lobster taco were good..... Definitely not impressed, especially compared to the one downtown SRQ that had the rooftop bar with Twinkle entertaining. That was the place for happy hour and dinner afterwards with live music. Will not be back.

Reservation for four at 7:00 on a Saturday. Restaurant was half empty, which should have been a sign. One of our party ordered the pizza of the day. Fifteen minutes fate ordering, waiter came back and said they were out of pizza dough. Another person ordered the grilled shrimp, lighter portion. For $16, got 3 medium size shrimp on a bed of mediocre mashed potatoes. In general, very over-priced for average quality food.

Loved our experience at Eat Here! We have been traveling to Siesta Key for 10 years and have just recently started to find restaurants that offer creative and high quality food. Eat Here offers an excellent range of menu choices to satisfy any type of diner. I ordered the meat loaf and it was delicious. Definitely the comfort food I was craving with a high end feel to it. If you want seafood or other meat choices, they offer many creative and tantalizing options. My husband ordered the filet mignon and my sample melted in my mouth. Might have to try that one on our next return. I am so pleased that Eat Here decided to come to Siesta and I look forward to going back again soon!

Nothing to be done about that, but my guest and I had trouble hearing each and hearing our waiter, but neither of us are hard of hearing by any means. There was no bar scene to speak of that night nor was it particularly busy. it's just the way the acoustics work. While it's very lively at the downtown restaurant with a very active bar scene, for some reason it's easier to hear each other there.

The waiter was a bit inexperienced. The salad I was served came without any dressing, I had to ask for it and before I could finish it, my entree was being served. Out of curiosity, is a bread basket ever served? All of our entrees were quite delicious and we would order them again. But I must commend the restaurant for having such a wonderful array of desserts that I am sure are made on the premise. It was a good dining experience.

Don't let the name fool you, this place serves very good food. Lobster and shrimp tacos were great. Fries with garlic are delicious. Wine list is decent and the service was really good. Our server Skylar was fantastic. The table sitting next to us thought so as well. Bill for the four of us was $115.00 before tip with 2 glasses of wine. Fried beet app was a little too big if you are not sharing.

We have been there several times over the years. However, this will probably be our last. It was not crowded and service was very spotty and not particularly friendly. Their signature pot roast had to be sent back for raw potatoes! They no longer serve bread with meals , but, you may purchase some. Overall, I found it to be very mediocre. Also, the room could use some updating.

The food at Eat Here Siesta Key is wonderful. I always end up ordering the grilled fish special of the day or the salmon. It comes with the sweet corn casserole which is the best. I could have that as a meal! My friend ordered the Mahi fish tacos and said they were the best she ever had. Coming from a New Englander, that is quite a compliment. It can get pretty noisy, which is the only draw back but the food helps you overlook that.

Menu seemed limited for a Sunday. No valet parking and parking is an issue. Server answered most questions. Limited choices for our older guest. Settled for a grilled cheese sandwich. Fish tacos were great. I expected larger shrimp for the entrée. Pineapple cake was a tough texture. Generous portion for crème Brule. Coffee was not very hot.

Unfortunately we had a waiter on his first night at Eat Here. He tried his best and was very polite. We were disappointed after we had the speech about how every thing was cooked to order all freshly prepared. My Daughter-in-law loves seafood and said even her shrimp was over cooked. My son ordered the veal meatloaf and it looked as though the slices had been pan fried, all dark and hard around the edges. My dinner & my husband's were edible. The best part of dinner was the delicious Onion Soup and the Titanic salad. No rolls or bread were offered with our dinner. We would return for lunch for the soup & Salad
