Diner Reviews
  • "The food was fantastic!!! The server was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with suggestions. But it was odd . . . at first he seemed indifferent, almost annoyed that we were there. Then he became animated and engaged, very helpful and warm. And then as the night progressed and we were ending our meal, the indifference showed up again. All in all, a great night, wonderful food, fresh and delicious. I'd go back in a heartbeat."

  • "We dined upstairs at RoofTop Bar, fine service, yummy light bites and wine/beer selections are super!"

  • "Felt like we were underwater -- surrounded by schools of fish -- wall murals, ceiling murals, tabletops, lighting fixtures. Vibrant, funky colors, vibrant funky layout, everything was just off-balance enough to make it interesting. Menu on a clipboard -- different, useful. Fish selections were off-the-hook interesting and, when devoured, delicious. Made-as-you-watch lemonade was incredible. Quinoa salad an absolute must-try. Service friendly, responsive and non-intrusive. Prices were just a little elevated -- a couple of bucks less would have been perfect. Hard to find fault with eat here. The name says it all. We went back the next evening to see if our successful visit was a one-off. It was not, we had even a better experience."

  • "We arrived on time for the reservation and a table was not ready. The staff offered us drinks and we waited outside for a while which was fine with us. However the overall service was extremely slow. The food, when it arrived, was good and the variety was above average. One odd thing for us was the way the food arrived. One person in our group received nothing for over an hour."

  • "Service was extremely slow. My guest was served his lunch at least 20 minutes before I received mine. I had to ask for ketsup 3 times before I actually got it. They just didn't seem to care too much ."

  • "Disappointing, had heard good things, mussels were just ok, sauce needed flavor, fries, not worth the calories. Pot roast was fair, meat was tough. We did like sitting outside, might try it again for drinks & appetizers ."

  • "My husband and I had dinner here for our 4th anniversary. It is a great little restaurant with interesting artsy decor. The food was fabulous! We shared a couple small plates, the French dip grilled cheese, the ribs and the housemade chips with blue cheese. All the food was wonderfully prepared and presented. Eat Here is located right in downtown Sarasota, close to parking and all the Sarasota nightlife. I definitely recommend it!"

  • "My friends and I had a great time, the food was awesome, and the service was good. This is a bit more like casual dining with a twist of upscale food. Since my friends and I are not always so quiet it worked out well. We will be back!!"

  • "Mussels small, onion soup could use smaller croutons, good service, interesting menu, good atmosphere"

  • "I was on vacation with some friends of mine and we were going to go out to eat one night with some of friends of mine that live in Clearwater. We went to the downtown Sarasota location and were very impressed. The location looked nice, friendly, inviting, and energetic. None of us had ever been there before. The service wasn't bad, the waiter seemed like he may have been fairly new so wasn't entirely used to waiting on tables yet which was by no means bad. The food was outstanding but pricey. The alcohol selection was good and fair priced especially compared to the food prices. For a night out, dinner was around $40 after tip with an $8 cocktail, so prepare to spend some money but not a lot. I highly recommend Eat Here."

  • "We really enjoyed our meal. The food was very tasty and service was excellent. The concept ( small plates/ full meals/ sharing) is very appealing and all courses were well prepared. Will definitely return"

  • "We were a family of 4 who loved the food, interesting dishes. Bruchetta was outstanding! The waiter said the dishes came with really small side of potato, nothing else, so you needed to add extra. We did order a $14 vegie platter based on his suggestion only to have it left uneaten as there were 2 sides with the dishes (potatoes and greens). Wasteful Husband ordered wine and was recommended a glass of something that was $14 when most were $6... 2 glasses later we realized the price - felt upsold unnecessarily by $42 overall! Don't do this to a family, travel is expensive enough. But the food was fabulous, just buyer beware of upselling. Loud but fun environment."

  • "Great sport for an informal meal. Al fresco dining is always a plus, and the menu offers lots of choices for sharing. I like the option to buy wine by the 1/2 carafe. Al cenci Sarasota, fl."

  • "The Menu is a little schizophrenic, some small plates just a few full dinners."

  • "We dined at EH with a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters. Something for everyone on the menu. Delicious and everything stated very fresh and healthy."

  • "Had dinner here on a "date night" after a movie. different, inventive, very good! Watch out for the very hot tomatoes on the very different bruschetta."

  • "This is for the owner as there is insufficient space in the private not section: We have been often to EAT HERE and this is the first time we felt "rushed" by our food server who kept wanting us to order the next items right away. What we really like is sharing, exploring with our guests and then ordering a bit more and so forth. I hope that this did not represent a change in your policy. We found service in the upstairs bar slow and lackadaisical, unlike any previous visit. Were they new people, or just tired? Wouldn't even offer the pineapple/pomegranate martini when we asked about a martini list, found it on the downstairs menu."

  • "Third or fourth time here: the menu is whimsical, the food excellent - if a bit unusual. The place was really crowded and too noisy for my taste, but that's to be expected on a Friday night in the middle of season."

  • "Eat Here is simply an anchor in the rolling seas of restaurants. Consistently good and interesting food, great service, and vibrant ambiance. Eat Here has held on to us as we've ventured out and tried other spots. We're always pulled back to the safety of knowing we're going to have a great experience."

  • "I would return. I think I would have received better service if I was in a bigger group ordering more drinks. Food was definitely good (I had the pot roast) and I would return to try more entrees."

  • "We all thought the service after our order was taken was very slow. A couple people in our group thought that the chairs were very uncomfortable. Our waiter was just okay, but one of the waiters that I encountered was very nice and when I commented on one of the items on the menu he was glad to give me the ingredients for it. I think everyone liked the food that they ordered."

  • "The evening was beautiful on the porch and the sunflowers were a nice touch. Our waiter was perfect. Can't recall his name but he looks like Ben Affleck. We all liked our dinners very much. We were not hurried in the least and the memory of the evening will be with us for quite some time. I thank you for making a special day for us even more special."

  • "Eat here is a great place for a good, no-fuss meal. The food isn't haute cuisine but it's very good and there's a good choice. The clientele is mixed with a good sprinkling of all age groups. Everybody smiles a lot and, what's more goes home smiling"

  • "Eat Here is a GREAT place to eat. The food is FANTASTIC! I have not had ANYTHING that I wouldn't order again. Prices are a bit steep, but in the long run, worth it. DEFINITELY GO!!"

  • "We made a reservation for Valentine's day and were concerned that the menu might be limited but they offered their daily menu, a few specials and also a special Valentine's day fixed price 3 course menu. That gave us a great selection. The food was very tasty, we had meatloaf (excellent), surf and turf and ribs. Were very pleased with all and the service was never rushed even though it was a special holiday when all restaurants are so busy. We will go back for sure,"

  • "Early on a Saturday evening there was only one fish and no chicken left! It seems as though the food menu has shrunk, too. Perhaps in making this a sharing place, the assumption is that snacks are enough...?"

  • "Food was great and very creative ideas... We were 45 minutes early for our reservation so just stopped in to see if possible to seat us early.. they did with no problem"
    Dined on 2/7/2014
  • "A slow, slow kitchen and inattentive wait staff makes it hard to fairly evaluate the food. The apparent lack of management during a busy lunch time can be blamed for an annoying overall experience. What would Gordon Ramsey think?"
