A word from eat here - Anna Maria
The Eat Here restaurants in Sarasota and Anna Maria Island were recently selected as two of Florida's "Best New Restaurants" as part of Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards. The award was particularly gratifying for the team at Eat Here's parent restaurant, the Beach Bistro, which has long been enthroned in Florida Trend's "Golden Spoon Hall of Fame" and ZAGAT's "Top Restaurants in America. Eat Here was previously selected “Best New Restaurant” by newspapers on Anna Maria Island and in Sarasota. The third Eat Here has now opened on Siesta Key to similar rave reviews. Eat Here celebrates chef-crafted, Gulf-Coast cookery featuring presentations of local farm products, fresh, locally-caught seafood and inspired pizza and tacos. The Eat Here bars serve traditional and creative cocktails, craft beers, and wines from pimarily family-owned vineyards.
Eat Here’s chef staff is trained in the Beach Bistro's school of commitment to culinary excellence.

  • "While on vacation on Anna Maria Island, we had dinner at Eat Here. The food was fresh, original, and tasty! We ordered the fish tacos and a kale salad. The fish tacos were made with fresh caught grilled amberjack with crunchy slaw. The kale salad was excellent!! We also shared and order of house made French fries which we could not stop eating. I would recommend Eat Here to anyone visiting or living on the island. I can't wait to go back. I would like if it they would open for lunch."

  • "Great food......different menu than the standard island restaurants.....creative and delicious. Attentive and friendly staff; not rushed even though it became very busy after we arrived about 6:00. My salmon (the lite option) was delicious, broiled perfectly, accompanied by a tasty, not bitter arugula side. My wife's filet - mouth watering. Do NOT pass up the plump corn casserole. Going back north after a year in Bradenton....should have come more often!"

  • "I have been to Eat Here on a number of occasions. I always have a great meal. On this occasion, I attended with my Mom. We had tempura beets, the lighter portion of shrimp, roasted green beans & corn casserole. The roasted green beans and corn casserole are my favs - I always order them. The beets were recommended by a friend. They were good, although I'm not big on fried food and won't order them again. The shrimp (on mashed) were excellent and I would order them again. The lighter portion is only 3 (large) shrimp which may not be enough for some folks, but with all the other stuff, was plenty for us. My only real 'dislike' at Eat Here is the noise level. It's so loud, it's hard to carry on a conversation."

  • "I visit AMI often and we are always looking for fun new places to dine. Eat Here was lovely! The food was different but delicious and they have a good variety of beer and wine. We enjoyed our experience very much! Love the sarcasm and humor that accompany the menu items and signage through out the restaurant. Everyone should try this while on the island. It's fairly small inside and out so I would recommend making a reservation."

  • "We were on vacation in the area and tried Eat Here on the recommendation of a resident friend. We enjoyed the experience so much that we returned the following evening - which unfortunately was our last before we travelled home. The onion soup is the best we've ever had - anywhere and we've tried lots. The red snapper was amazing! The Max Reserva Carmenere is excellent! Our servers on both nights were fantastic, making us feel comfortable and giving great suggestions - we asked. We will definitely return when we visit the island again."

  • "We have vacationed near the Beach Bistro for years but always felt a little uncomfortable going there because we usually dressed for casual dining. When we finally got around to trying the "Eat Here" location we were pleased with the informal but professional atmosphere, the excellent and knowledgeable service, and the terrific food. The menu while smaller than some restaurants was varied enough that we were easily able to put together a nice meal to suit our somewhat different tastes (from each other). The house wine, a chardonnay, was very good, and we felt we definitely got our money's worth. I think the owner's idea of providing great food in a less upscale and more informal environment was inspired. We will definitely be back."

  • "Eat Here is the low cost creation of Sean Murphy, the proprietor of Beach Bistro, one of Florida's best restaurants. When it opened. 3 yrs ago it was an instant success and he has followed with Sarasota and Siesta Key locations. All offer an eclectic menu and setting. I've taken guests here 4 times in the last 8 weeks and they have all loved the food and ambiance. Even more telling is that I'm ready to go back again with or without guests. My only disappointment is that the chicken and waffles are no longer on the menu."

The staff was not as professional as I thought it would be given it has been used as a training location for the owner's high end locations. The tables are small and close together (not unlike one of the high end locations). This is a good spot if you are looking for small portions for sharing. Not a place I will rush back to."

  • "This was my third visit to Eat Here. It was a special family dinner and I specifically requested a good table. I was very pleased to be given the most private table in the place. The food at Eat Here is always excellent - fresh, beautifully prepared and presented, delicious. I understand it's part of the 'personality' of Eat Here to have a casual and eclectic set up, but I do wish they'd improve their menus and flatware a bit. It's also very loud and a little cramped in space. The service is always excellent. On this date we had salmon, mahi, roasted green beans, creme brulee, hawaiian cake & apple crisp - all wonderful. The beans and hawaiian cake were the family favs. Pricing is mid-range. Look forward to my next visit!"

  • "Several trips to Here this trip. Food is always fabulous and service is spot on. Inside can be a bit noisy but with on line reservation our wait time was 0. Wonderful appetizers and the gulf shrimp is a delicious presentation. The prices are very reasonable and my guests have left both meals all commentating what a fun dinner it had been."

  • "Had a reservation for 5 people. We were seated in what I can only imagine used to be a closet. A booth stuffed into a 6x6 box with wall to wall mirrors. Couldn't see anything in the restaurant. My party was def confused by the setup of the menu, w/large and small portions. Most in my party described the food (pizza especially) as bland. The salmon was good. Service...let's just say the server brought over a shaker of cheese for the 2 pizzas ordered that had about a teaspoon of cheese in the bottom. We laughed and made a joke about it, but come on...what do you want us to do with that? Disappointing night overall."
