  • "Great restaurant! The quality of the food is very good and the presentation is lovely. Some of our favorites include :Mexican-style corn, the veggie lasagna, the iron-seared prime filet of beef, and we love their dijon-chive deviled eggs! Tried the crispy glazed brussels sprouts Friday night and they were excellent too. We love dining at Eat; especially dining outside. The patio ambience improved this summer with the nice green umbrellas they acquired for the tables. My only complaint is that it is hard to get a reservation!"

  • "We no longer live in VA Beach but when we visit we make a point of going to "Eat". We ate out on the patio so it was very quiet since we were the only ones out there. We just shared appetizers this time. Everything was delicious and portions were as described. Wine recommendation was perfect."

This place is one of my personal favorites because it is always consistent, delicious and the service is always impeccable. I can't say enough about this place.....LOVE IT!"

  • "You should eat here. The service (Rob) was outstanding - helpful & the perfect amount of intervention. I had the nut crusted goat cheese salad w/pomegranate vinegar estate and a fish special - a crispy chunk of grouper on top of ratatouille resting on a bit of fresh made pasta. Fab presentation & flavors to match. Hubby went with the filet w/zin Demi glacé -- you never get tired of a perfectly cooked tender piece of beef - but he could have eaten a whole plate full of the mini baguette size grilled cheese that accompanied his yummy tomato basil soup. Totally loved this small, peaceful contemporary setting at the quiet north end of the boardwalk and may go back before our VA Beach visit is over "

  • "Casual, comfy, excellent service and food is amazing! Creative, farm to table vibe with great beer, wine and cocktail list. Love that you can make a meal of several small plates or order more traditional entree. Everything we ordered was delicious: the fresh Eastern Shore oysters, the roasted corn soup topped with lump crab and creme fraiche, the kale caesar, the short ribs with polenta and the crab two ways (softshell and crab cake), and the hot rum bread pudding with raspberry ice cream, fresh berries and caramel sauce."

  • "This restaurant was highly recommended by our son who is a local Executive Chef, so we knew we were in for a treat! The quaint atmosphere offered us a cozy table. Our waiter was very personable and accommodating. Normally, my spouse and I would not order the same entre but the Rockfish was irresistible to us both. What a great choice, the fish was delectable! The goat cheese salad and bread with home made butter was super tasty. Now, hold on to your hat for dessert, home made pistachio macaroons for me and Mr. Yummy had the bread pudding. We have had bread pudding from coast to coast, if it is on the menu, we order it. So when I say it was the best we have ever tasted it is not a flippant statement. Consider Eat - BAHZINGA!"

  • "We have been to Eat twice and have been blown away both times. It is our new favorite date spot. It is small and romantic and they have such a great variety of foods. Both my husband and I have ordered from the regular menu and the specials menu and both have been outstanding! I would recommend this place to anyone who likes well prepared food with a great atmosphere. We were blessed to get the same waiter both times went. He did not constantly bother us and he was he was well prepared with explanations to any questions we had! I am counting down the days until our next date night!"

  • "Valentine's weekend, was able to secure the last reservation 15 min before we arrived. We have eaten here before. Great experience both times! Menu is always changing, great specials. Dessert was amazing, and we can thank our waitress for the suggestion. Tiny hole in the wall restaurant that hasn't disappointed. Actually, we were last there in the early fall and it was hot out and the A/C was out that day. Staff were bringing in fans and really made it tolerable."

  • "I go here at least once a month in the winter. It's in the the resort strip so it's too inconvenient for locals In the summer, plus it has zero parking. That said, the food is consistently outstanding, the bar and bartender are great, and it's worth putting up with a little hassle to eat there."

  • "The scenery and atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic. It is a perfect restaurant for a date or a night out with friends. The food was spectacular and drinks were great. However, the service was absolutely atrocious. Our server talked in a disrespectful manner to our table throughout the entire night. He also took 30 minutes to even bring us our drinks. Other than the service, Eat is a fantastic restaurant."

  • "Second time there, food was fantastic. Server was very knowledgeable and attentive. There was a question from someone at the table that the waiter misunderstood to take as if we were implying he had made a mistake which was not the case at all, but his reaction was to immediately offer to correct it. The jump to immediately "make it right" was impressive and much appreciated, especially since no mistake was made. Would be 5 star service except for our salads came out when we still weren't through with our appetizers so that felt rushed and made for a very crowded table and there were dishes that weren't cleared when the runners brought out the salads. Will still go back!"

  • "My reason for going was restaurant week but I ended up eating from the daily specials. My main was "duck 3 ways", which was excellent. The wine pairings worked quite well. Service was excellent. Chef Erick and manager Chad are keeping the quality up at the high level I've experienced before. And they now have off-street parking!"

  • "Eat is a hidden gem. Although on the oceanfront, it is not near the "tourist" scene. The decoration of the place was interesting. The menus were great and the food was awesome! An added feature was the price. Quite appealing! The only thing it lacked was the service. The server had no personality, questions regarding the wine were not truly answered. I will definitely return and would recommend it to others."

  • "We made reservations weeks in advance. Two couples. Did not know it was restaurant week. Had a great table. Excellent service on a very busy night. The restaurant was full to capacity. Food was delicious! The chef even made a special dish for me to accommodate my allergy to shellfish. Many locals love this restaurant. We've been once before and were underwhelmed the first time. Now I'm a believer. We will be back... Often!"
