There isn't much to choose from in this area of town when it comes to eateries. This is one of the better, however several of our entrees had to be sent back. Very good atmosphere and service.

Being a seafood lover, I was totally impressed with what I ordered. The grilled shrimp and salmon are perfect but my favorite is the spicy calamari. It was really good, they just have to make it more spicy since it says 'spicy' on their menu. But overall, the foods are outstanding. The place is way too noisy for me, but that's fine since I enjoyed the food.

Great food, outstanding service. The waiter was very accommodating and service oriented. He really tried to create a good experience... and, indeed, it was a wonderful experience. Only problem was that it was quite loud because of the high ceiling. Had to shout to have conversation with dinner partners. We will be back, though. P.S., the salmon is so good!

Eastland Cafe is one of our favorites, but we were disappointed last weekend in the size of the portions. He ordered the sliced ribeye special, price was very high and he got 4 slices of beef with quite a bit of fat.

The first time we went to Eastland Cafe, we were thrilled with the quality of the food and service. We had lived in Chicago (food city) for 15 years, and were excited to see that Nashville was developing its own culinary world, beyond biscuits and fried chicken. We recently returned to Eastland, after a long absence, to find that the food and service continue to be above the norm. Every course another pleasant surprise.

I would recommend the front porch, bar or indoors for an evening with friends. The patio is nice, but the lighting is too bright. Perhaps if you were going with a family and small children it would be ideal. Food was delicious, presentation appealing and ambiance inside the restaurant is energizing.

You can see your food prepared in the open kitchen as you wait. The food was well prepared, fresh and delicious. The server was very friendly and attentive--food arrived quickly. Although not overly crowded (we were dining late), the noise level was higher than expected, especially with the kitchen nearby. Price was good for the quality of the food. I would definitely return again.

I usually love Eastland and go there frequently because I can depend on the service, food and atmosphere. It was disappointing this last visit and makes me wonder if it's going downhill. Had a great cocktail, but the appetizer (okra two ways) and salad (butternut squash special) were not very good. The fried okra was too tough and flavors were all over the place. The salad was too fatty with the dressing and the greens were too thin. I thought it came on arugula, but mine was frisée (or something like it). The fish special was particularly disappointing. Over cooked the fish and had weird little fried shrimp on the side that reminded me of red lobster. The service was great as usual. Sat outside, which was nice but a little smelly of trash

very busy, they should have handed out ear plugs at the door, it was really that bad. Service was great. We were sent to the bar at first when our table was not available. The bartender was terrific, funny etc. When were were seated for dinner we were told unfortunately they ran out of shrimp!! so the dish I wanted was not available. The special I had was fine but I was still disappointed that the dish I wanted could not be ordered.

The happy hour menu was great and the portions generous. I ordered a pizza. The person making the pizza was behind and I didn't get my pizza till everyone else at my table finished their meal. Our waiter asked if I wanted to wait for it and I did. It was very good and puping hot. He didn't charge me for it and I had ordered something else off the happy hour menu so everything worked out great. I would recommend this restaurant to others and go back again.

Great food, really nice place but loud. Make sure to get a table on the opposite side of the bar. We made the mistake of sitting at a table right next to the bar, which made it a little uncomfortably loud. They have a partition wall in the middle of the restaurant that blocks some of the noise. Definitely sit on the other side of the partition!

We intended upon eating full meals, but found the list of tapas so varied that we ordered four and the bibb salad and were satisfied. But the highlight of the meal was dessert. The apple donuts with gelato were incredible. Our waiter described them as high-brow carnival food; I've never been so interested in joining a carnival. We like eating early and were surprised and delighted at the wonderful happy hour specials on food and martinis.

Whlle the food here is very good, I cannot highly recommend Eastland Cafe simply because it's way too noisy. My partner and I were yelling at eachother and we were only a foot apart. It was exhausting trying to have a conversation. There are too many hard surfaces in the room so the sounds just bounces around everywhere. We will only go back if we can sit outside at a tolerable noise level. It's too bad, because there are a lot of things I like about the Eastland Cafe, the noise just overrides them all.

Eastland Cafe is one of the best restaurants in East Nashville, and that's saying something. Our party of four shared appetizers and ordered different entrees. Everyone raved about their selection. I would also highly recommend the green chile mac-n-cheese as a side to share. It was really good! Eastland also had good cocktails and a decent wine list. We had a really wonderful meal at Eastland Cafe about six months ago with interesting and delicious salads and entrees and were looking forward to going again and taking friends. However, the menu had changed, the salads all sounded ho hum and not unusual and our entrees were the same. Nothing remarkable. The $29 fish entree was definitely not worth the price. We will try some place different next time we head to East Nashville.

First time dining at the Eastland cafe. Heard good things, and was not disappointed. Positives: wonderful environment, vibrant, modern but with the feel of a quaint neighborhood cafe. Had the snapper with locally grown cherry tomatoes and fried oysters, and it was fantastic. Decent beer list. Negatives: Service was a tad slow. The server may have been new. Also, it's a tad pricey. Will be coming back soon, though

I don't usually write reviews but my wife's and my experience was such a delight that it's warranted. Started with having to move reservation back 30 minutes and Henry was happy to accommodate. Our waiter, Justin, was friendly and engaging without taking over. He was happy to bring a second taste of wine when the first red I tried wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I'm not enough of a wine guy/foodie to describe what it is that I like in a wine, so I greatly appreciated his willingness to help me. The atmosphere was cool. The food was fantastic and Justin anticipated our needs and we never needed to flag him down. Really look forward to our next dinner at Eastland Cafe.
