Went here for the brunch. The pastries were good, as was the seafood polenta. The prix fixe came with coffee and orange juice. The service was friendly, attentive and unhurried. The place was airy and bright.

Restaurant was to quiet for the excellent food that was served. Dishes were delicious and interesting. I think the restaurant's price point is too high for this neighborhood. But I would definitely recommend it to friends, and you all should go there. The menu, with so many things I wanted to eat is accompanied by a serious fantastic wine list. We chose a wine from the Bolgherie region in Italy that we visited not long ago, it did not dissapoint. Our waiter was super friendly, attentive an knowledgable about the food. Ambiance was ok. Low key, East Village style-- highly reccomend this place.

It was an absolute pleasure to have dined at east 12th Osteria! Our server was on point to a T, very knowledgable & friendly staff. The food is out of this world, divine! We started with the crispy zucchini filled with fresh ricotta, my friend ordered the lobster risotto which she loved & I had ordered the most delicious ravioli I have ever experienced in my life which is filled with ricotta & a quail egg topped with truffle. Everything cooked to perfection! The prices are crazy cheap for the quality of the food. Worth every penny PLUS your life savings account. Oh and did I mention everything is prepared from scratch?? Osteria I love you dearly!! And if I'm lucky I'll be back several times until I move elsewhere.

If you are looking for a place to relax, drink great wine, and have outstanding food, this is the place! NOT ONE COMPLAINT!

The fabulous and inventive menu proves the chops of this kitchen. The nightly specials and off menu items are always imaginative and delicious. Try the ravioli with quail egg inside, cooked to unctuous perfection, sprinkled with truffle. Melts in your mouth. Seafood is always cooked simply, and to perfection in the Italian manner. The accompaniments to each dish amplify the flavor experience and are obviously chosen with a knowing palate. We have eaten here several times and will come back again.

Our experience was not typical, because the restaurant was virtually empty on the night of our visit, thus the "quiet" rating. I have been there when it was busy and you can't hear yourself think. As always, the level of preparation was fine, but this time, I was struck by the somewhat meager portion sizes. Perhaps they think that you will order all courses: the starter, the pasta, the main, and the dessert, but my guests opted for pasta in place of the main, and what they got was quite modest. Frankly, I feel that the place is too costly for what they serve.

Had an excellent dining experience at East 12th Osteria. The food was full of flavor, the yellow tomato gazpacho amuse bouche just about danced in my mouth! My dining companion and I both had fish dishes which were cooked to perfection and had lovely presentations. The service was the best we have had anywhere, this front of the house team really worked like a well oiled machine, and they were all so proud of the food they were serving and the job they were doing. So glad we found this place!

I can't wait to go back! I've eaten there twice and each dish has been out of this world. It may be a bit upscale for the neighborhood, but it's worth every penny. The service is more European/leisurely than New York speedy, but a meal here is a meal that should be savored and enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

This was just what we wanted in a NY restaurant - superb food and service that was not overly expensive. Each bite was a delight. The food was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The husband (chef) and wife (front of the house) team take a lot of pride in their food and in their space, a lot of the décor which comes from Italy.

Food was beautifully prepared and presented. The dishes were imaginatively conceived and executed perfectly from appetizer to dessert. we had every course so we could fully appreciate the cuisine. i cook myself, and could appreciate the delicate tastes from the freshest of ingredients and the creative combinations. my friend and family were similarly delighted with the meal. we had a slight blip in the service which was corrected with alacrity and grace and our bill was compensated accordingly. i will definitely return to this restaurant and recommend it to my friends.

This is the second time we've been to East 12th, and to be honest, can't wait to go back again. We live really close to this place, and it becomes quite a must go - we're trying not to go every weekend! There are a few things that make the place special: accoustic (even though it's on the street) you can barely hear anything, which makes the place really talking friendly; service is really a plus - the waiter knew us by name and remembered us from last time (c'mon - it was only our second time there); and of course, the food - speechless!

A very cordial welcome and attentive service. The dinner was excellent, as was the wine. One note: before trying a new restaurant, I'll get a better idea of the interests of the place by reading the wine list than from the menu. Yes, I feel I am wine-focused. The wine list here is glorious, filled with a huge array of well selected wines. That said, however, some might find it daunting. If it were half as long, and more focused, it wouldn't take the wine chooser (me) out of the conversation for a half-hour.

I have dined at East 12th Osteria a few times and am always pleasantly surprised by the ingenuity and elegance of each dish. I ordered the shaved artichoke and avocado salad with parmigiano which was delighful as always, and the tagliatelle with porcinis and parsley puree. The porcinis were fantastic - I think I expected the pasta to have more egg in it and be richer and more toothsome but it was very well seasoned and fresh; lighter than expected. I ate at the bar and felt the service was very attentive, which isn't always the case at some restaurants as a solo diner so I was glad to be met with conversation from the staff. Thanks for another great meal!!

Felt like I was on the UES having brunch...I think if they made the decor slightly more casual, comfortable, they'd see an influx of traffic. Speaking for all East Villagers, we like a friendly, warm, cool atmosphere, unpretentious, but with delicious, accessible food. I had the Tramezzini su’Pan Carre - Smoked Salmon, Scrambled Eggs, Asparagus, which was fantastic. FRESH ingredients, simple tastes, but all paired together made a delicious afternoon sandwich. My dinning partner had the Uova Fiorentine. We thought it was alright, nothing to write home about and not worth $16, the ingredients in the dish probably cost $1 (eggs, spinach, potato) The bread was also excellent-- could tell it was homemade.
