This restaurant tries very hard - too hard - but it's just not on par with other restaurants in this price range. Overall, the food was just mediocre: diminutive potions at a very dear price, and the flavours were underwhelming and uninspired. It took ages for our meals to come out of the kitchen, not easily explainable by the half empty restaurant. The service was excellent, however.

Modern decor in tones of cocoa brown and black. Superb service. Great food at a fair price. All these ingredients made for another super eve. Our return visit brought some outstanding dishes: the scallop ceviche (app), the Cornish hen (main) and the Pork Special (main). Accommodations for diet restrictions (dairy, gluten) were taken VERY seriously - servers were knowledgeable about dish ingredients and the chef respectfully made numerous changes to other items for us. This is a place where your time is always well spent.

Rich dark tones with a modern sensibility make for a pleasant backdrop. Personable, professional and attentive service make for great ambiance. Good food at a great value make for great experience. The ever-changing set menu option is a steal - great variety...daily soup is always vibrant, fish option always fresh. (Only mis-fires were Flank steak = overdone, so order it MEDIUM. Key Lime Pie=crust was overdone) Nice (new) option of a rooftop patio makes for a welcome change. This was my SIXTH visit - and I will be going back very soon.

We were there for brunch and left disappointed. Caesars were good but over priced ($9). The Bennys were boring and did not even include a garnish or piece of fruit to brighten the presentation. They were not very busy but we had a very long wait for our order. Finally 2 plates arrived but there was an additional wait for the third plate. Our server was great and seemed to be handling everything in our section.

We were running late due to a major road accident on Mother's Day. We had booked a brunch at 2:30 pm and couldn't get their on time. But even though their kitchen closes at 3:00 pm, the restaurant was very accommodating and kept their kitchen open for us. Food was freshly served and delicious; plus staff was patient and pleasant. I would definitely go there again :)

My family went to Earth Bloor West for Easter brunch. It was a fix prix menu and the food was very good. The downside, for us, was that it was kid-friendly and kids were screaming, playing video games (loud) so that we found the kiddy noise, frankly, a bit off-putting. The manager (or owner, not sure which) seemed to be very interested in making us happy but our waitress wasn't very good. She forgot to bring us out items we ordered. In her defense, however, she was serving a lot of tables and it was quite busy. It was our first time there and my husband and I decided we would try it again but, perhaps, more of a later night dinner when the little souled customers are (should be) sleeping.

Very enjoyable — Sunday family dinner for 4 adults and 2 kids (13,9) celebrating a birthday. Three hours flew — starting at 4pm with half-priced Happy Hour appetizers! Very enjoyable culinary experience — kids ate from the adult menu and loved it! Gnocchi dish was absolutely our crowd's fav dish! Excellent! As was the Duck Confit with pesto and pecorino flatbread — amazing!! Italians love their food and this place did not disappoint. Lovely decor! Love the reclaimed barnflooring as accent wall. Friendly waiter!! Heard about Earth and always wanted to try it out. Glad we did. Big supporters of Earth's philosophy — think global. Buy local ! We loved it!! Very proud to have Earth's founders place their roots in our neighbourhood :)

Overall...an OK place for dinner in BWV. The steak was great but some of the specials were too salty (cod).....and the green beans were very very uncooked....almost raw. Nice looking restaurant and staff were great. Received an apology for the over salted food.

On winterlicious menu - the apple cherry crisp was delicious, and would have been divine if served hot not warm. But was very disappointed in the first two courses. The root vegetable salad seemed more an intellectual composition rather something enjoyable, all the individual components were well done and spiced, but did not as a whole come together. The cod themidor entree was a wreck! The dish was not composed, and not seasoned enough. The "hollandaise" sauce on the top of the fish was not a sauce but cooked egg with an overpowering brown butter taste, scrambled eggs on top would have tasted better (not that that goes with fish)! The potatoes were cooked well, but could not the chef find a better spice than nutmeg to season them?

a pleasant surprise.... at the very last minute, we decided to dine at earth last saturday. great decision. from the greeting at the door to the first course of winterlicious, our meals were delightful. especially good was the parsnip soup and the rib with mashed potatoes; dare i suggest that these were almost as good as mine. if there was any observation/complaint, it would be that my roastsed potatoes were a bit dry......very small criticism as they had good flavour. will certainly come again.....only wish we'd discovered this gem earlier.

My only complain, we booked brunch on a Saturday, when we arrived, the place was fairly empty and they put us smack in the middle of the row tables. I requested one that is closed to the end and was told that it will get really, really busy and can't accomodate my request. It would have been fine if the place DID filled up. However, it was maybe 50% full when we left and I did not appreictate the fact that they did not even attemp to locate another table for us. Due to this little instance, it irked me a bit, OK maybe more than a bit if I am writing about it. Will I go back? Maybe not for a long while since there are many good restaurants around and some may even accomodate my requests.

Earth has a decent menu but it feels like they are trying to pull off a fine dining vibe but falls short. The menu I'd good for the sort of place you want to hit with some friends for a fairy simple dinner or even a few drinks and some apps. All in all it was okay but nothing to write home about.

I had always wanted to try Earth, because of its philosophy, so we came for Winterlicious. We were impressed with the variety of options for the prix fixe. The complimentary bread and honey-sage dip along with everything we ordered was exceptionally delicious and beautifully plated. The service was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and courteous, if not quite friendly. The decor was dark, earthy, minimalist and modern - extremely appealing. It is definitely my new favorite Toronto restaurant! :)

Went for Winterlicious. Definitely a 'nice' place, but a little stuffy/pretentious. Service was good but a little aloof for my taste. The food was ok, but again, a little pretentious. The best piece was the desert - chocolate torte, excellent. I probably wouldn't recommend but only because it's not something I think many of my friends gravitate toward, however I could see it being appealing to a different crowd. Very quiet and intimate, which was relaxing. Side Note: In such a nice place, I would expect better washroom facilities, it's like an institution with the standard metal door-ed stalls etc.

This was my first time visiting 'Earth'. I enjoyed 2 of my 3 courses; unfortunately my entree, a cod, was substantially over-salted and under-sauced, although my parsnip and white chocolate soup was nice and rich. The ambiance was nice, until the hostess sat a crying baby in an already-filled room of diners. The service was attentive, although one of the servers stood at our table twice staring awkwardly without speaking. Overall it was a nice place for lunch and I would try it again - maybe for dinner this time.

Went over on an evening after Boxing Day shopping. The quiet atmosphere was just what we needed. We started by sharing the vegetatian flat bread, which we all agreed was terrific. I had the steak filet for dinner. As requested my steak was prepared medium well; it was flavourful and tender. We so enjoyed our entrees, we didn't have enough room for desert.

The food is good but not great. Dishes are fairly heavy-handed and many of the sides are more pub food than nicer dining. I ordered a steak medium rare and it came out blue in the middle and given the amount of juice on the plate it had clearly not been left to rest before serving. We had an ok meal experience, but the price is probably a bit high for the quality.
