Diner Reviews
  • "Great place to take someone special. Best views of Indianapolis."
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "We moved to Indianapolis from Denver, CO about 8 months ago and The Eagles Nest was recommended to me as a very special place for a very special occasion with fabulous views of Indianapolis. They recommendation was right on the money! My husband and I had a very lovely evening and even sat in the lounge after dinner to watch a thunderstorm roll into the area. Spectacular light show!!"

  • "Was truly delicious, great service, great waiter, nothing to complain about. Both me and my boyfriends steaks were cooked to perfection. This is one of our favorite restraunts to celebrate our anniversary at. And we have the past two years!"

  • "Rotating view of the city with a complete 360 every 50 minutes or so…just as advertised. Food prepared well and tasty. One of a kind experience. Service was top notch."
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "View was fantastic, but the food was just average...especially for the price! Would possibly return for a special occasion, but would probably try other places first."
    Dined on 7/22/2014
  • "This place has a great view and the food is good, but nothing special in my opinion. The view is outstanding since the restaurant rotates, we saw a full crowd down at Victory Field. This would be a great place to go if you are new to Indy and want to get a great view of downtown. The halibut was very good and the lobster corn chowder was good. For the money though, I would rather go somewhere for more interesting food."

  • "Will begin with food. Grilled Brie (excellent), Halibut superb, two vegetarian offerings for my husband. He enjoyed his choice. We had not been to Eagles Nest for many years. We are not familiar with downtown and had difficulty finding Valet parking. Not obvious from the street. Since the main entrance is hidden from street, a sign would have helped. Server was very good, food was spaced out well. There was an assistant server and I felt she was late with getting more water and I would have had 1/2 cup of coffee more if it had been offered in time, so mark down for that reason. Did not seem the servers were overwhelmed. We had a very good experience - would make it a little later to see the city lights if we go to dinner again."

  • "The major draw of Eagle's Nest is the view. It rotates so you get a literal 360 degree view of the city. The only problem is that Indy doesn't have a vast downtown, so every view offers basically one two other nice buildings to look at and then factories in the background. Granted, I went during daylight hours, so I imagine it would look amazing at night when you can see the city lights for miles. The atmosphere as a whole, however, is very nice. The staff was very courteous and appropriately timely. The food was some of the best I've ever had."

  • "This was a terrific place to go in order to celebrate our 38th anniversary. The staff really went all out to make sure our dining experience was superb and it definitely was. We both ordered the airline chicken breast with rice pilaf and it was delicious. The food was hot and very good. We were offered sparkling water, tap water, or bottled water. We chose sparkling water since it was a special occasion."

  • "Definitely a unique dining experience with the 365-degree view of downtown Indianapolis. Food was prepared well - filet, salmon, scallops. Excellent service. Note that Hyatt valet parking will add to the price of the evening. Will save for special occasions."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "Seating was very uncomfortable - chairs very worn out. Food bland. Do NOT try peach cobbler - awful. Don't go at sunset - no accommodation to protect eyes from very bright sun. Very disappointed."

  • "We first visited the Eagle's Nest restaurant 28 years ago on our wedding day! We try to come back every couple of years on our anniversary. This year we brought our daughter with us, it was her first time, she enjoyed it just as much as we do! The food was very good, we could not understand why all the reviews are bad! We had a steak, fish, and the scallops, all were delicious! It is on the pricey side, but what good restaurant isn't?? We will be back hopefully before too long!"
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Our server was Jared. He was professional, helpful and attentive! I took my two teenagers thinking they wouldn't be thrilled with the different kind of entre avail but they said it was the best chicken they had ever had. The grouper was also good."
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "I had heard that the food wasn't worth the price and no, it probably isn't necessarily worth $32 for scallops, but I think the price has to do more with the location. The scallops were excellent, my husband seemed happy with his prime rib. The goat cheese crostini was absolutely delicious. The view is unlike any other in Indianapolis. I'm not sure I would return, but it is romantic and worth at least one visit."

  • "My husband and I shared an anniversary dinner here and enjoyed our evening. The waiter was informed about the menu options and provided helpful suggestions. We ordered prime-rib and duck, both which were delicious. My husband dislikes sour cream and didn't know that his baked potato would be smothered in it. Yet, that is small potatoes :) to our overall experience. The rotating restaurant offers great views of Indianapolis and even though were were sitting in the same area as other patrons, we still felt like it was an intimate dining experience."

  • "This is one of the best places to dine and watch the city revolve around you. I would highly recommend to anyone having a special occasion or just a night out."
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "Celebrated a birthday and everything went great except for wanting to charge me $25 to serve cake that I brought for group. So I ended up serving myself."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "The food is great and the view is awesome. The prime rib was delicious! My husband ordered the filet, it was slightly under cooked, but they quickly fixed the problem and brought out a new filet to his liking. The best part of the evening was seeing downtown Indy as we revolved around the restaurant."

  • "For a first experince I have to give it a 6 out of 10. Finding hair in the menu was a turn off but the manager fixed it right away. but then they brought our food and it was like a scene out of a movie, he stepped on my toe and stood there! he tried to make up for the trouble with desert. Overall it was good not sure if I would go back just a little pricey"

  • "The food was good and for the 1st 2/3 of meal service was ok. The atmosphere was much too cold with a constant air conditioner draft. which hurt the overall experience then the last 20 minutes got strange. The person bussing the table cleared all items before desert menu was delivered. Because of the cold the desert was ordered to go. the time period from finishing the main course to delivery of desert in box took 20 minutes. We did not have wine, 2 high end entrees, appetizer and 1 dessert bill was $168 pre tip for 2. My memory is this is higher than other high end restaurants downtown. In Summary, it's an experience dining place if you haven't eaten there put it on your list. Would I go back, no, better options get 1st call"

  • "This dining experience was very nice, a high end eating establishment with a view that looked out across the whole city as it slowly rotated. Many asked me after if it spun too quickly, but it was only noticable if you thought about it, I believe that we only made two rotations during the time we were there. The food was good but not 5 stars. Our service was great, but we felt rushed by our waiter and he pushed several items. Sometimes during a special occasion we'd like (a little) time to ourselves."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "The view was breathtaking and the atmosphere was perfect. I can't think of a better place for a marriage proposal."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "Our expectations for the Eagle's Nest were high based on other "top of the Hyatt" experiences, but this one falls short. The food was good not great, the service was good not great, and the overall decor is very tired. Add to that fine dining prices and you have a disappointing experience. The scenic view of the city is great, but everything else is average at best."
    Dined on 7/9/2014
  • "It was a nice, relaxing evening. I will be back and recommend to other people."
    Dined on 7/8/2014
  • "The shrimp cocktail comes with giant shrimp with cocktail sauce and also grilled shrimp - it was delicious! The mixed greens salad was really special - the cheese and the dressing were wonderful! The salmon was also delicious but the spring vegetables that come with it were skimpy. We also had the "Vegan Tower" which is roasted vegetables, which was very good. We're really not used to paying these kind of prices, but with the gift certificate from our daughters, it was a delightful evening to celebrate our 37th anniversary!"

  • " If you want to impress someone on a date, go to the Eagle's Nest!!!"

  • "Wonderful view. Great for special occasions. Service good, could have been a little better on drink refills. Food portions could have been a little larger for the price."

  • "My family was in Indianapolis for a convention and my husband and I decided to go out for a nice dinner. The view was spectacular, our waiter was terrific, the food was delicious. My husband is a vegetarian and we were very happy that there were plenty of choices for him, including 2 entrees. We plan to go back whenever we are in Indianapolis."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "I can't say anything bad happened but other than the view & crab cakes everything was average."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and the experience was memorable! From the food to the service to the view were all phenomenal. Romantic spot to focus on each other and enjoy fine cuisine at a special location. Thank you Eagle's Nest!"

  • "We chose to visit The Eagles Nest on the 4th with hopes of viewing fireworks in downtown Indy. We were not disappointed. The view was amazing. Our eyes feasted on the hundreds of displays from dusk 'til the final bursts faded away in the ball diamond. Our reservation was for 8:45 PM and we made two complete rotations during our meal. The ambiance of TEN was the perfect fit for romance. Special thanks to Renee for snapping our photo and keeping our Arnold-Palmer glasses full! We found our entire experience to be so incredible that we may just make this an annual event."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "As above...great service absolutely! Sea scallops over cooked severely!"
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "Awesome view of the city of Indianapolis. The rotational setting didn't make us nautious, and the food was sensational. Our waiter was willing to put their peach cobbler up against my wife's. Though it was good, it didn't take the cake. Nonetheless, we will return because we enjoyed every bit of the experience."

  • "This was our first time dining there, so we were not sure what to expect. We did enjoy the scenic view. The selection wasn't huge but they seemed to try to have something for everyone. There is a substitution fee if you want to switch something. So that made it slightly ore difficult to decide on an entree, as you had to see if it was paired with something you liked/wanted to eat. Our server was very nice and very attentive, a good blend of professional and friendly. My only complaint is that the side that came with my entree was VERY overcooked (as though they gave me something that had been forgotten in the oven or left under the hot lamp). The rest of my food was very tasty. So our anniversary was not completely ruined."

  • "The Eagle's Nest is a must for a romantic, intimate dinner. The rotating restaurant affords a unique view of Indianapolis as it turns 360 degrees every hour. The ambiance was fantastic, and the food was delicious!!. Our waiter,Jared was very personable and prompt. we like the fact that we were not rushed during our meal......This was our second visit... the first visit we arrive late as the restaurant was winding down. We were able to enjoy a drink and appetizer as we gazed at the view of Indianapolis at night."

  • "My husband and I have been trying new restaurants and The Eagle's Nest was our pick for this week-end. We were not disappointed. He had the Duck and it was fabulous! I started out with Quail on Saffron rice. . .it was sooo spicy! But the waiter didn't hesitate to offer to bring me something else. I opted for the Halibut and was NOT disappointed! It was so good it melted in your mouth. The service was impeccable and the view was awesome! We lingered over our dinner and then had coffee and dessert which was yummy! Yes it is pricey but worth it! Don't let the business casual dress code turn you off. It was not at all stuffy and we had a great time. We will be going back. Thank you Eagle's Nest."

  • "Dinner was great, romantic setting and awesome view!"

  • "I took my boyfriend here because we got a groupon for 1/2 off. The food was delicious. I got the prime rib and mashed potatoes, and my boyfriend got the filet mignon and baked potato. The prime rib was the best prime rib I have ever had. We were a little disappointed with the shrimp cocktail appetizer. For $18 we expected more than 4 shrimp. However, it was really good, and my boyfriend loved the cocktail sauce. I would absolutely go back for some special event (it is way too expensive to visit more than occasionally) and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a really nice night out on the town or to celebrate a really special event. The view really was incredible."
