Diner Reviews
  • "This was our first time dining at Eagle Tavern but not our last. The prices were very fair and the food was delicious! I had a petite filet mignon that was so delicious, I'm still talking about it!! We also had a terrific dessert, carrot cake cheesecake....YUMMMMY. The service was very good and attention by the small details (water refills, dish removal etc) was excellent. The guitar player was a pleasant surprise and not overwhelming. We will absolutely return to this gem right in our backyard. VAW, Malvern, PA"

  • "We had a party off 6 and our server was great. She was extremely professional. During the course of our meal, the manager even checked in to see if everything was okay. I have dined at Eagle Tavern 4 other times."

  • "Had a reservation on a recent Saturday evening. Seated right away. Plenty of serving people who brought water, menus, bread, and took drink orders almost immediately. Food was excellent. Overall a great experience."

Now, on to the food, it is exceptional and we always have trouble deciding, buy my son is addicted to the fish & chips! Everything comes out HOT and cooked to perfection. We LOVE The Eagle!"

  • "Came here with good friends for lunch and it was a delightful experience. Very relaxed atmosphere with very good service and even better food. For some reason we often forget this place but that is going to change based upon our luncheon experience. Perhaps the owners of Eagle Tavern need to do more advertising: "Out of sight out of mind!""

  • "I have eaten at Eagle Tavern 4 times now. The first 3 visits were wonderful. Great food and service. Don't know what has happened but service was not good I was with a group of 9 out on the porch. It was nice and quiet. My food was good but 2 meals were just bad. Over cooked meat looked like shoe leather. Cold Potatoes. My friends are still complaining about the hard dry beef they ordered med well. Other 7 did not even mention the food so I guess it was ok but not great. I will try one more visit as maybe this was just a bad day for the waitress and chief."

  • "My family was there for Sunday lunch; we had a relaxing, enjoyable meal. Good variety on the menu and very reasonble prices. The dining room was filled with natural light and the decor was simple but up-to-date which resulted in a pleasant dining atmosphere."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at the Eagle Tavern on 3/08/14. We both really enjoyed it. Our food was delicious and our waitress was excellent. The service was much better than we've received from any chain or family restaurant in the area. We didn't start our dinner until 9 p.m. and they had a musician playing the guitar in the bar area. The music was good. It was loud enough for us to enjoy it but still quiet enough for my wife and me to enjoy our own conversation. We'll definitely be going back."

  • "This is a great little find in Chester Springs, Eagle. We were so thrilled that we took our family of 5 for an early sitting. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the menu has a great selection of meals to choose from, whether it be a good cut of steak or salmon. We all love the chocolate mousse cake!!! The booths are cosy and quite which helps for good conversations. We have been back twice since in the last month and even had a girls night out which was fun! A good little find in Eagle. thank you."

  • "Dinner was good but I would not rate my experience as outstanding. It's difficult to tell if our issues were because of the valentines crowd. Tables were crowded together and menu options were limited and almost all seafood which was fine for me but not my wife. If we knew in advance that it was a special seafood menu we would have gone elsewhere. That said, the food was delicious and we had a good time. I'll give it another try and see how it is on a normal night and recommend you do too."

  • "We had a party of 4 dine at the lovely Eagle Tavern for Valentine's Day. The food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. Even with the dinning room filled to capacity, our server was attentive and catered to our every need. The food came out hot and was cooked to perfection. We had a child with us, who is usually a very picky eater and even he raved about how wonderful his meal was. We were very pleased with our experience at the Eagle Tavern and we would go back again and again. The only negative thing we commented on was they had a special menu for Valentine's Day but we all felt it was a bit too limited in that it was mostly seafood (I would recommend adding another red meat selection to the menu). Overall, a great night out!"

  • "I was taken to the Eagle Tavern for my birthday Monday, Feb. 10. The service was impeccable. The fried oysters (often hard to find West of Phila.) were succulent- breaded and fried just right, and served hot. It was my first time at Eagle, and my wife's second. We'll be back."

  • "My husband & I go to Eagle for dinner every other weekend, because the service & food are always reliably good. Our only knock would be the menu. It's pretty solid, but basic. And, we would like to see the bar menu expanded upon to include classics like boneless wings, potato skins, and sandwiches like a classic reuben or patty melt, etc. Sometimes, we just feel like having those kinds of app's and such on Sat nite."

  • "My husband and I ate at the bar about a year ago and it was wonderful! We reccommend this for a group outing of 8, 6 of us had never been here. We were really disappointed. The server was just ok...delivered food and said "here" and handed it to a guest to pass to another guest. When we asked her about a few dishes, she said "I don't eat that, so I don't know". And she forgot drinks on a couple of rounds. The seafood pasta that I had was not good at all. The sauce was too thin and had no flavor. It's a shame, because we loved it the first time, but will not be back."

  • "We had not dined at Eagle Tavern since we moved from the area in 1999. We were visiting in the area and had dinner there. T;he building had been updated and rearranged somewhat which we liked. The food was just as good as we remembered and the service was superb! Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food and great service!"

  • "The Eagle Tavern is right around the corner from me, yet I haven't eaten there in about 25 years. It's changed a bit since then, lighter decor, a more open feel, but the menu felt very similar. At a Christmas lunch, we didn't really test the menu. Everyone ordered salads. The cheese steak eggrolls were sufficiently sinful. My blackened filet tip salad was excellent. Tender, nicely blackened and a great, dark balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The cannoli was excellent, although not filled into the middle. Taking it down a few notches was the bread. Eagle Tavern is owned by a Pizza & Hoagie joint down the road, and they actually used hoagie rolls for their bread. Wrong. Service was excellent and full of banter, which I liked."

  • "It's been a long time since we've been to the Eagle Tavern, but we had a gift card. I was very impressed by the quick service. Everyone enjoyed the food they ordered. I will be sure not to wait so long to return for a good meal out!"

  • "I thought I would try the Eagle Tavern for a laid back lunch with a friend. My friend had salmon which she thought was excellent. I had a 7oz steak with fries, which was one of the daily specials. As you may know, a "special" can sometimes be a gamble because it is often something the restaurant wants to use up. That may have been the case here. The steak I received was not a quality cut and had a lot of fat around the edges. I'm not much for fatty meat, so I ended up cutting a lot of it off. A 7 oz steak ended up yielding 4 oz of meat. In conclusion, I will try the restaurant again, but will probably visit for dinner next time. I'll also think twice before ordering a "special", and stick to what's on the menu."

  • "Great place for a great meal. The snapper soup is to die for, The seafood is really fresh, the bread is delicious, the drinks pretty strong and the wait staff is tremendous. Outside of the bus boy commenting that I ate my whole dessert (I was still hungry!) the meal was tremendous."

  • "Second time we have been here since they reopened under new management. We were happy the first time and even happier the second. We went there for a birthday dinner and liked the fact that there is a good variety of choices allowing everyone to find something they liked. It is a convenient location and will probably be back again. When the waitress found out it was my father's birthday she did his desert special with happy birthday and a candle, it was very sweet."

  • "Our "Lunch Bunch" group meets each month at a different restaurant. We were anxious to try the new Eagle Tavern. The service was very slow but we were not in a hurry. The food was amazing and worth the wait. I understand from others that their wait was also long. I am hoping that the owner is able to correct this problem because this restaurant has lots of potential."

  • "35 years ago, I came to the Eagle Tavern with a newly formed Volleyball team. We played earlier that day in a competition just down the road. One of the women on the team had just joined us for that competition. I was VERY impressed so when we stopped by the Eagle Tavern after the games I made sure to stand and invite her to sit beside me. She has been beside me ever since. It was our 34th Anniversary. We celebrated with family and it was a wonderful experience. The food, the atmosphere and the service were all we could hope for. We will return!"

  • "The food was fine, except for the vegetable. This might sound like a trivial item, but I specifically asked that my green vegetable be cooked "well", for medical reasons. When the food came out, the vegetable was cooked the same as the others at the table - underdone to the point of no flavor, and coarse in texture. The cook evidently thought it wasn't important enough to spend a little bit more effort on it. Neither of us who had the snap peas ate them, so it's just wasting food. This is not the first time that this has happened to us at Eagle Tavern. We thought the first time was an oversight, but twice?"
