A word from e2 emeril's eatery
Chef Emeril Lagasse’s new restaurant, e2 emeril's eatery, is located at the Levine Center for the Arts in uptown Charlotte. This casual American eatery features an eclectic selection of appetizers, salads, seafood and steaks, as well as some of Emeril's New Orleans and Southern-style dishes, homemade desserts and modern American classics with a twist.

Find your favorite spot to enjoy Emeril's cooking or watch the action up close: from the chef's food bar--the centerpiece of the eatery where you can interact with the chefs as they work at their various cooking stations–-to the raw bar featuring fresh seafood, shellfish and fresh shucked oysters. At the bar, select from two house punches, local brews on tap or a handcrafted vintage and modern cocktail made with homemade infusions and syrups, plus a full menu of delicious bar snacks. We look forward to making your dining experience at e2 most memorable.

Diner Reviews
  • "Chose Emril's for restaurant week. Location was nice in the heart of Charlotte. Service was good but somewhat slow. Food was good but I am glad we did this during restaurant week since the prices otherwise were as expected expensive."

  • "After reading some reviews about slow service we left plenty of time with a 5:45 reservation but our service was impeccable. The server and assistant server provided immediate service, brought bread, drinks, etc and cleared dishes with us barely noticing they were there. Their explanation of the food, wine pairings and other choices were extremely well done without being pompous. As soon as the slowest of us finished the meal, and not before, they were there with dessert. Bread and Gumbo were great. One companion said the shrimp and grits were the best he ever had and our banana cream pie was excellent. We would give Oysters Rockefeller and Rib eye a medium rating. We will definitely come back again."

  • "The atmosphere was pleasant. Anything you needed was there before you had to ask for it. Friendly attentive staff. Will definitely go back with my Spouse and Friends."

  • "e2 is a classic example of what a restaurant should be like. Nothing is over the top, but nothing is overlooked either. It's a very clean restaurant with nice decor, the food is great, the drink list is extensive, and the service is fantastic (many people take care of you, not just your server). This is a great place to enjoy a dinner with your significant other, or a night out with friends."

  • "The food was fantastic and the staff were very nice and attentive. My only complaint is the noise level at the bar. The crowd was noisy and was at the entrance of the restaurant."

  • "We had a reservation at 6:15. We were enjoying ourselves and the food so much, it was dark by the time we got up from the table! Wait staff was helpful, pleasant and did not rush us. Shrimp and Grits - outstanding!"

  • "Our waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, food or drinks. This was very helpful since this was our first time dining here. The craft cocktails are very very good! The appetizers and main course were very well presented and very tasty. I will go back to try different things. A very nice dining experience."

  • "Popped in after the concert July 5 at the Bechtler, only interested in wine, salad and dessert. Wine was okay, salad was good, beignets were actually very chewy, almost cold crepes. Ice cream and blueberries were acceptable. All in all, only worth the convenience of the valet parking for the event, but the ambience and mood was good. Our server, Jen, was fabulous."

  • "Dinner at E2 Emeril's eatery was excellent! From service to food, we couldn't of asked for better! Keep up the great work, Thanks!"

  • "we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and wanted to try a restaurant we had not been too that would be special. This was a great choice. The people at E2 all seemed to know it was our anniversary from the hostess to the valet to all the servers and they were all very delightful in congratulating us. The wine that was recommended was excellent. The servers were all very professional and personable. The prime rib was outstanding and very different from your "normal" prime rib. This was a fabulous experience."

  • "My friend and I were so excited to try Emerils restaurant and we were disappointed. The ambiance is great, service is amazing but I ordered the special, filet.. Asked for it to be pink throughout and specifically said I hate a hot red steak.. The texture is too chewy.. So I got a hot red steak.. Sent it back and they cooked it more but then it was a little overdone. They ruined my $40 filet!! My friend ordered salmon which was great, until he found a peice of thick plastic in his food that he was chewing!! He couldn't finish it. They comped our meals and everything but it will be awhile before I try this place again."

  • "My friend and I was having our dinner here while visiting Charlotte --it was our first time going to E2. It was a VERY great. The service is superb and the food (we had the summer menu) --entree: lamb loin and braised belly // wood oven roasted grouper-- was simply perfect. We both LOVE our experience and definitely will go back when we have the chance to visit Charlotte again. Note: cocktails and the sweet potato chocolate chip cheesecake were magical as well (this is important to both of us :D)"

  • "Special stuffed lobster with andouille butter sauce surpassed regular menu items. Very approachable sommelier with great suggestions and interesting wine list. Service is friendly but not overbearing or intrusive."

  • "Creative food -- nice selection of more than your typical downtown lunch fare that suits a variety of tastes. Love the bread bowl with butter for starters....nice touch."

  • "We were disappointed that this visit wasn't as wonderful as our first. It was Father's Day and the service was slow even though there weren't many in the restaurant. The portions seemed smaller also."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Four of us decided to have lunch here. We dined here last year on Father's Day and it was excellent. The menus selection sounded great so we decided to try the most appealing to us. I will say that the kitchen was having some issues with a smokey oven/grill. Therefore one of the items on menus could not be ordered. A big disappointed to one of our party. Service was great, but the food was just fair this time with the exception of bread & dessert, which was excellent. I will return in the future and hope for a better meal!"

  • "We had a great experience and will be back with our in town guests often. Our party arrived on time and was warmly greeted then seated promptly. The wait staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive without hovering. Their suggestions were spot on. Everyone in the party was not only pleased with their meal but very impressed withe the simple complexity of each dish. The open kitchen environment was not only nice to see but also lent to a pleasant atmosphere and comfort that this was NOT the typical greasy restaurant kithchen and that there was nothing to hide. We will be back, often."

  • "Did not disappoint! I had two family members coming in town, and their both foodies and love trying new restaurants. E2 Emeril's Eatery was my pick so I put it all on the line -- and everyone loved it! Great plating, great presentation, great flavors. I had the scallops, which was highly recommended, and they had a tender texture with a sweet almost caramel flavor (and comes with a piece of chicken skin). And you must get the banana pie for dessert. My only issue is it was a little loud, but other than that -- I highly recommend. I will be back."

  • "Creative (often throwback) cocktails. Good service, good food. Super convenient to the Knight Theater so it's a great choice for a pre-concert dinner or drinks. Just plain good all around."

  • "My husband and I went to this restaurant on a Friday night prior to a theatre performance. Even though we had a dining reservation, we were seated at a table in the bar area of the restaurant - which was LOUD. We requested to be moved to the dining area, and we were moved without hesitation. The portions are REALLY small; we left hungry. My beet salad came out with no dressing, and it took awhile to get someone to listen to our issue. The entrees needed a sauce. The sous-chef did fix the salad issue for me, and took it off of our check. The wait time for food was quite long. People who came in after us (who clearly know one of the chefs) were served much faster than us. The food had some good flavors, but it was not a good value."

  • "We love going to E2. It has become our favorite spot for treating ourselves. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. They can help you pick out the perfect wine to match your palate and your dinner. Even our 9-year-old daughter loves eating at E2!!"

  • "Went to E2 for a birthday celebration with my wife and 3 friends. Was very dissappointed with the quality of the food. Filet mignon was very undercooked - ordered medium and came out rare. Isnt that culinary 101 for the chefs. I personally ordered that linguine with duck bacon - although it sounds eclectic, it was far from it. Duck bacon was dry and chewy, linguine didnt have enough alfredo and was dry. The staff asked every 20 minutes whether we would like another alcoholic drink - this came across as nice at first, but quickly became annoying (since my goal wasnt to get drunk). When I walked in (on a Saturday nt at 7pm), was surprised it was empty, now I understand why. I'm a big Food Network fan but I lost a little respect for Emeril. "

  • "The few of the ladies went to e2 after a show across the street. The 16oz pork chops and sweet potato hash was wonderful! I asked that mine be prepared well-done and even with a piece of meat that size, it was still very tender and juicy. The leftovers were just as yummy. Our server, Jennifer, was great. She was knowledgeable about the menu and very cordial."

  • "To start off my experience it was okay checked in for a 7:15 reservation at 6:58. So we went to stand at the bar after standing there looking at a drink menu for about 12 minutes the bartender finally asked us if we wanted a drink. Order Cpt. Jack pilsner and was not cold enough. Also the guy who checked us in with crazy hair, Orange shirt and a now tie went to the bar stuck 2 straws in a drink pulled one out and tasted the drink for a customer I was shocked. I didn't notify the manager because I wasn't too concerned with it at the time. Finally 7:29 we are seated for our dinner. 7:36 water 7:45 food order was taken. Food outstanding as the first time we came here. Service dropped a bomb I will not return to the good food. Sorry "

  • "We made reservations a few days in advanced for 7pm on a Friday. We arrived about an hour early to start with cocktails at the bar. The bartender was great, he really was quick and mixed the drinks perfectly. Even though the restaurant was busy our table was ready about 30 minutes early. The food, staff, wine, and atmosphere were perfect. We would highly recommend! "

  • "Pre concert dinner. Excellent salad special. Very good mahi special. Outstanding lamb shank. Dessert sorbet was not really a sorbet but more like a raspberry/orange ice and somewhat bitter. Vanilla malt ice cream was great."

  • "I was in Charlotte for a quick weekend trip and E2 was about a 5 minute walk from my hotel. The location and restaurant was great. The food was AMAZING! had HOUSE-MADE BOUDIN CAKE as the appetizer.. the best collards i ever had in my life. steak and yellow tomato pizza for entree. My friends had the shrimp and grits and the grilled half chicken. The drinks were amazing as well. For desert I ordered the Sweet potato and chocolate chip cheesecake. IT WAS TRULY LIFE CHANGING!Also i have to mention that our waitress Cassandra was AWEMOME. She knew the menu well and all of her recommendations were on point. She was pleasant and thoughtful. E2 was a great experience and i would go back to Charlotte just to go to E2. "

Water and bread and silverware was replenished innocuously. Salads were plated well and great flavor.....Main courses were delicious.....highly recommend E2......"

  • "definitely a must for anyone looking for a great uptown location with notable menu items with excellent wine selections. The Sommelier was very knowledgeable on some wines and grape varieties that I have not been exposed to. the wait staff is friendly and prompt. dessert was unusually good (Chocolat Chip crust cheesecake with cocnut and citrus); ate it all. • "Food and cocktails were really good and made with attention to the season and locality. Not what you would expect from a 'chain'. Seasonal shifts in menu and a craft cocktail haven! We really loved how everyone that worked there stopped by to check on us and ask our opinion about the food! It was clear they all wanted to share how much they enjoyed being part of this lovely tucked away foodie spot. Wine. Really fresh approach to the wine parings and a very helpful staff to assist with the well rounded list of choices. Definately going back! "
