Great dinner before the theater and located just steps away. We split a wonderful starter and a watermelon salad. My salmon was cooked to perfection as was her grouper. Martinis were shaken, not stirred and ice cold. Crackers were to die for.

If you're going here just to drink stick to the wine list or beer. Cocktails were mixed poorly with simple syrup. The food was subpar... Needless to say my fiancé and I will not be returning.

Great cocktails--unusual, but delicious! Innovative appetizers--we tried the pecan praline braised bacon on a bed of julienne pears--heaven! Ordered the classic Shrimp and Grits and discovered a twist there, too--rice grits! They were super creamy and the shrimp were done just right. The sauce is so good no one has any left in their bowl. Have to return another time and try dessert, just know it will be fabulous, too! The outdoor tables looked nice, but the thunderstorms drove us inside. They have a very nice Gluten Free Menu--just ask for it!

Being from out of state, it was serendipitous we found e2! The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was bright, open, energetic (without being too loud). All employees were on their game, taking time to pamper and engage the guests in conversation, while ensuring everything was 'just so' at the table. Dishes were served without interrupting our discussion, yet new dishes were served with professional subtlety. A genuine pleasure, and we WILL return!

Food was as wonderful as you would expect from Emeril. Service was stellar (Drum and Matt). We had roasted beet salad with goat cheese, fried green tomatoes with crawfish, Grouper and lobster linguine. Friend had the double cut pork chop and it was quite impressive. I was surprised by how large the portions were considering this is haute cuisine. This was our second visit to this restaurant and experience was consistent with the last visit.

I had dinner here on Friday night prior to a jazz concert. I informed the wait staff I was on a schedule and they were very conscientious of being sure I left in time. The main course was amazing! I had the Shrimp and Grits. The wine list was nice. The dessert was not as good as I had hoped. I ordered the Key lime Pie. But the staff and the Manager/Owner along with the head chef were wonderful! I'd go back for that reason alone.

I was really hoping for more... Started off on the wrong foot, because they ran out of lamb at 8:00. This is the dish my girlfriend was planning to order before we arrived. We ordered the shrimp and grits, and the lobster+English pea linguine. Food was average, took a little long to come up. Service was good. Overall I expected more. wasn't blown away.

I thought e2 was good. The food was good. The service was good. The ambiance was good. However, for just my wife and I to spend well over $200 on dinner I would expect more than good. I would expect great and that's the only reason I won't be recommending this restaurant to friends and family.

I had a note in the reservation that it was our anniversary and asked for a quiet table. This may not have been necessary considering it was a Monday night, but we got a portion of the restaurant to ourselves and everyone wished us a happy anniversary at some point! I had the mussels appetizer: excellent. My husband had the gumbo. I had the shrimp and grits for dinner which was also really good, and he had the ribeye special with fried oysters and mashed potatoes. The steak was quite good, but the potatoes were average. Dessert, however, was the star of the night. Not only did both plates come with "happy anniversary" in lovely decorative writing and a candle, but the beignets and key lime cheesecake were amazing. Really.

The servers were wonderful and were helpful in making choices. There are lots of hard ones to make at e2! Four of us went in for appetizers and dessert after a long day at the convention center. Wish we didn't have a 3 hour drive home so we could have stayed longer and enjoyed an entree'. The roux used in the gumbo and shrimp app was spot on! The table had several orders of their version of oysters Rockefeller ... and I considered having another order as dessert. Instead, we had the best banana cream pie anywhere! Blueberry crepes were also wonderful and they make their own ice cream.... So now we are hoping for an E2 to come to Raleigh.... at least then we'd only have to drive 1 1/2 for Great Creole

We were seated as soon as we walked in the door. The atmosphere was very nice and mellow. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained the menu and how things were prepared, which was nice. The gumbo was good but almost like a stew which was my appetizer. My wife's oysters were the best and most flavorful that I have tasted. Her shrimp and grits was nice, but my salmon was the star. Beautiful flavor with the corn and beans . The best and most unique salmon that I have ever tasted. The other star was the banana cream pie. Beautiful and naturally sweet without being too sweet. The tres leches was dry but tasted good. E2 is thus far my favorite in Uptown. Highly recommend.

That sounds crazy I know but after almost every taste one of us was saying Yum. I won't comment on the dessert. And will probably skip it next time.

Must admit after seeing the other reviews before going this evening, I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon entering Jasmine greeted us with the nicest smile and immediately sat us down. Our service was great! Trey took great care of us from beginning to end. We even had a table visit from the manager to greet and check on us. We had a conversation about our wine selection and he patiently answered all our questions about it. The food was phenomenal. I don't eat mushrooms so I was concerned about the menu. I wasn't disappointed at all. Minus the mushrooms, my gumbo, shrimp and grits and banana crème pie were excellent. And I even went home with a bottle of the wine selection we had - Fabulous first for me!
