Chef Emeril Lagasse’s new restaurant, e2 emeril's eatery, is located at the Levine Center for the Arts in uptown Charlotte. This casual American eatery features an eclectic selection of appetizers, salads, seafood and steaks, as well as some of Emeril's New Orleans and Southern-style dishes, homemade desserts and modern American classics with a twist.

Find your favorite spot to enjoy Emeril's cooking or watch the action up close: from the chef's food bar--the centerpiece of the eatery where you can interact with the chefs as they work at their various cooking stations–-to the raw bar featuring fresh seafood, shellfish and fresh shucked oysters. At the bar, select from two house punches, local brews on tap or a handcrafted vintage and modern cocktail made with homemade infusions and syrups, plus a full menu of delicious bar snacks. We look forward to making your dining experience at e2 most memorable.

Diner Reviews
  • "Three of us went here for dinner and all our meals were wonderful. I loved my linguini with lobster! The service was courteous, attentive and very friendly which we all enjoyed. Received good recommendations on food and drink. I'll be back again for sure when I visit Charlotte."

  • "Great dinner with a larger group (10) Staff was very accomodating when we added one at the last minute. Staff was attentive, but dinner seemed to take a long time to come out. Overall dinner was almost 3 hours. Food was great. Portions reasonable, prices also reasonable...centrally located near The Mint in Uptown."

  • "Overall very good place for special occasion....watermelon and heirloom tomato salad was outstanding, shrimp & grits very good, my wife had the cedar planked salmon which was excellent. The beignets for desert were very good. Service was excellent this evening."

  • "Rave reviews from all 4 of us that went to dinner. The food, drinks, service - all top notch. Thanks for a great night."

  • "Food was expensive for the portion size and only average. Service was very good."

  • "E2 is a great place to eat for special occasions. The wait staff go above and beyond to make your visit amazing. The food was spectacular as well."

  • "This restaurant was simply incredible. The staff was so thoughtful, the food was to die for, and the feedback to my appreciation was great."

  • "I had a note in the reservation that it was our anniversary and asked for a quiet table. This may not have been necessary considering it was a Monday night, but we got a portion of the restaurant to ourselves and everyone wished us a happy anniversary at some point! I had the mussels appetizer: excellent. My husband had the gumbo. I had the shrimp and grits for dinner which was also really good, and he had the ribeye special with fried oysters and mashed potatoes. The steak was quite good, but the potatoes were average. Dessert, however, was the star of the night. Not only did both plates come with "happy anniversary" in lovely decorative writing and a candle, but the beignets and key lime cheesecake were amazing. Really."

  • "Excellent location. The service was great, they tag team which I enjoy. The food was outstanding, wonderfully seasoned and the cocktails were first class. We definitely will return."

  • "One of the best meals my family or I has ever experienced. The trout was cooked perfectly, and the sauce matched the dish without a step."

  • "We were in a food rut and E2 did the trick. The coconut was cream pie was an outstanding finish to a great dinner."

  • "The servers were wonderful and were helpful in making choices. There are lots of hard ones to make at e2! Four of us went in for appetizers and dessert after a long day at the convention center. Wish we didn't have a 3 hour drive home so we could have stayed longer and enjoyed an entree'. The roux used in the gumbo and shrimp app was spot on! The table had several orders of their version of oysters Rockefeller ... and I considered having another order as dessert. Instead, we had the best banana cream pie anywhere! Blueberry crepes were also wonderful and they make their own ice cream.... So now we are hoping for an E2 to come to Raleigh.... at least then we'd only have to drive 1 1/2 for Great Creole"

  • "Loved it! A friend and I (both new to Charlotte) decided to give e2 a try for restaurant week....so happy we did! I loved the atmosphere, the friendly staff and amazing food. e2 wins hands down as my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. Please try the oysters while you are there and the amazing shrimp and grits!! Also they have a very notable wine and cocktail list. Emeril is a notable name and award wining chef and you won't be disappointed at e2's."

  • "We were seated as soon as we walked in the door. The atmosphere was very nice and mellow. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained the menu and how things were prepared, which was nice. The gumbo was good but almost like a stew which was my appetizer. My wife's oysters were the best and most flavorful that I have tasted. Her shrimp and grits was nice, but my salmon was the star. Beautiful flavor with the corn and beans . The best and most unique salmon that I have ever tasted. The other star was the banana cream pie. Beautiful and naturally sweet without being too sweet. The tres leches was dry but tasted good. E2 is thus far my favorite in Uptown. Highly recommend."

  • "The food was well prepared and the service was very good. Overall it was just another moderately expensive restaurant, we probably won't rush to go back any time soon."

  • "We booked this retaurant last minute during restaurant week and had a good experience. There was more than enough staff to wait on us and the food was unique as expected and very tasty."
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "Let me start by saying I never review restaurants But the watermelon salad we had was the best salad ever The salmon dish was spectacular My husband and I agree it was juicy, hot, sweet, buttery, and just bursting with a variety of flavors to create exactly the right YUM for your taste buds. That sounds crazy I know but after almost every taste one of us was saying Yum. I won't comment on the dessert. And will probably skip it next time."

  • "I chose E2 based on Emeril's low country and cayenne background. I didn't know what to expect but thought I'd take advantage of our.local restaurant week. The food was great, as well as the wine list, and deserts. Our wait staff was attentive and took time to talk a little between checking on drinks or sering if we needed anything. E2 was definitely a great find for us and we'll be going back."

  • "Outstanding service, not quite, but still good. Setting was nice but a little noisy. Food was good, not special. Overall, I would suggest this as a good dining experience but pricey."

  • "Must admit after seeing the other reviews before going this evening, I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon entering Jasmine greeted us with the nicest smile and immediately sat us down. Our service was great! Trey took great care of us from beginning to end. We even had a table visit from the manager to greet and check on us. We had a conversation about our wine selection and he patiently answered all our questions about it. The food was phenomenal. I don't eat mushrooms so I was concerned about the menu. I wasn't disappointed at all. Minus the mushrooms, my gumbo, shrimp and grits and banana crème pie were excellent. And I even went home with a bottle of the wine selection we had - Fabulous first for me!"

  • "I have had the pleasure of eating at two of Emeril's restaurants and found both at over two years apart to be identical in professionalism, service and found quality. Very pleasurable experience and I look forward to the opportunity to visit again."

  • "I visited with my husband for the first time during restaurant week. The food was great, and the wines to match were thoughtfully chosen. Service is excellent. We went quite early in the evening, but it was still getting busy and the bar looked buzzing."

  • "This is one of the best in Charlotte. I cannot say anything negative. The service was excellent and we were seated as soon as we arrived using open table to book. My dish was shrimp and grits and it was delicious!! I plan to return and have already told others that this is a restaurant that they will definitely want to visit many times."

  • "Dined at E2 for the Charlotte Queen's Feast. Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Great value. Will definitely come again. Our server- Jelani- was awesome and took care of several special requests with grace and a smile."

  • "Chose Emril's for restaurant week. Location was nice in the heart of Charlotte. Service was good but somewhat slow. Food was good but I am glad we did this during restaurant week since the prices otherwise were as expected expensive."

  • "After reading some reviews about slow service we left plenty of time with a 5:45 reservation but our service was impeccable. The server and assistant server provided immediate service, brought bread, drinks, etc and cleared dishes with us barely noticing they were there. Their explanation of the food, wine pairings and other choices were extremely well done without being pompous. As soon as the slowest of us finished the meal, and not before, they were there with dessert. Bread and Gumbo were great. One companion said the shrimp and grits were the best he ever had and our banana cream pie was excellent. We would give Oysters Rockefeller and Rib eye a medium rating. We will definitely come back again."

  • "The atmosphere was pleasant. Anything you needed was there before you had to ask for it. Friendly attentive staff. Will definitely go back with my Spouse and Friends."

  • "e2 is a classic example of what a restaurant should be like. Nothing is over the top, but nothing is overlooked either. It's a very clean restaurant with nice decor, the food is great, the drink list is extensive, and the service is fantastic (many people take care of you, not just your server). This is a great place to enjoy a dinner with your significant other, or a night out with friends."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "The food was fantastic and the staff were very nice and attentive. My only complaint is the noise level at the bar. The crowd was noisy and was at the entrance of the restaurant."

  • "We had a reservation at 6:15. We were enjoying ourselves and the food so much, it was dark by the time we got up from the table! Wait staff was helpful, pleasant and did not rush us. Shrimp and Grits - outstanding!"

  • "Our waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, food or drinks. This was very helpful since this was our first time dining here. The craft cocktails are very very good! The appetizers and main course were very well presented and very tasty. I will go back to try different things. A very nice dining experience."

  • "Popped in after the concert July 5 at the Bechtler, only interested in wine, salad and dessert. Wine was okay, salad was good, beignets were actually very chewy, almost cold crepes. Ice cream and blueberries were acceptable. All in all, only worth the convenience of the valet parking for the event, but the ambience and mood was good. Our server, Jen, was fabulous."

  • "Dinner at E2 Emeril's eatery was excellent! From service to food, we couldn't of asked for better! Keep up the great work, Thanks!"

  • "we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and wanted to try a restaurant we had not been too that would be special. This was a great choice. The people at E2 all seemed to know it was our anniversary from the hostess to the valet to all the servers and they were all very delightful in congratulating us. The wine that was recommended was excellent. The servers were all very professional and personable. The prime rib was outstanding and very different from your "normal" prime rib. This was a fabulous experience."

  • "My friend and I were so excited to try Emerils restaurant and we were disappointed. The ambiance is great, service is amazing but I ordered the special, filet.. Asked for it to be pink throughout and specifically said I hate a hot red steak.. The texture is too chewy.. So I got a hot red steak.. Sent it back and they cooked it more but then it was a little overdone. They ruined my $40 filet!! My friend ordered salmon which was great, until he found a peice of thick plastic in his food that he was chewing!! He couldn't finish it. They comped our meals and everything but it will be awhile before I try this place again."

  • "My friend and I was having our dinner here while visiting Charlotte --it was our first time going to E2. It was a VERY great. The service is superb and the food (we had the summer menu) --entree: lamb loin and braised belly // wood oven roasted grouper-- was simply perfect. We both LOVE our experience and definitely will go back when we have the chance to visit Charlotte again. Note: cocktails and the sweet potato chocolate chip cheesecake were magical as well (this is important to both of us :D)"
