E & O Food and DrinkO&EThe food is outstanding, love the flavor, love the flair, love the fact they put a twist on all items. I have now dinned there four times. Service must get better as it is very slow. We set up early dinner just to avoid rush, we did but service still fair at best. Forgot our sushi, but made up with free desert. Waited 15 mins for second drink order, second drink did not come until after dinner!
If the food was not so good I would be on the fence about returning, but as it is great will be back!!!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMCity comes to the suburbsTried this 10-week old upscale restaurant located at Randhurst. They have small plates, salads, entrees and sushi. Started with tempura battered shrimp. Delicious & right amount of crunch. Steak taco served atop a long marrow bone which was cooked perfectly, tomato. 4 sm tortillas; a bit skimpy on the steak-delicious flavors. Smoked scallops w/smoked grape tomatoes atop a creamy, delicious sauce. California roll. Duck hash w/fried egg. Some nice big chunks of duck. Everything beautifully presented. Shared red velvet cake w/vanilla ice cream. Not special but good. Next time I think we'll try the chocolate rice pudding. Excellent service (including the bus boy). We're looking forward to our next visit. Beautiful location.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious, withThe food was delicious, with lots of unique flavor & ingredient combinations. Very "gourmet". We were celebrating a birthday, and received complimentary dessert, which we appreciated. It's definitely pricey for a mall restaurant...portions were very small for the price. Be prepared to spend, or leave a little hungry.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe weather was beautifulThe weather was beautiful and we chose to eat outside. This is a gem of a restaurant in the northwest suburbs. Creative dishes served with beautiful presentation and very delicious!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Find for the Suburbs....Our family enjoys dinning in Chicago for special occasions... this was a wonderful find that is closer to home. We will definately
revisit this restaurant. Great atmosphere, good service, and an outstanding menu selection.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst VisitMy wife and I visited this restaurant on Mother's Day at 5:30. We had reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered off the fixed price menu. The server was good but the service was extremely slow. Our server had to apologize many times for the slow service. Appetizer plates were good. We especially liked the kale salad. Main courses were mixed. My wife had a skirt steak which she really loved. I had a pot roast dish. The meat was good but the sauce it was served with had absolutely no flavor at all. Dessert was good, red lava cake and ice cream. All in all a little disappointing. We will probably try again on a less busy day as friends of ours rave about this place and we understand special event days can be atypical.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, great vibe!Excellent food, great vibe! The suburbs needed a restaurant like this! The sushi rolls were excellent, inventive menu. Can't wait to go back and try more things!
Cocktails were great too!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMCity ambiance in suburbs!E + O was a chic restaurant that made you feel like you were in downtown Chicago. The food and drinks were great and very sharable. Prices were what I'd expect for the quality. Will definitely go again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food but on theFantastic food but on the pricey side!
Tapas style5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was amazing! Funky flavorsIt was amazing! Funky flavors artfully blended, crispy brussels sprouts and kale - heaven. Feels like downtown without the hassle...4/28/2013 12:00:00 AME&O has great food, service,E&O has great food, service, and atmosphere. General Manager, Eujung is very personable and attentive; helping to make this a great dining experience. We will be returning for another meal.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFinally...We ate at E + O for the first time with friends over a weekend. The restaurant was active, fun yet elegant. We ate mostly small plates, and each one was unique and delicious. It's nice to finally have a Chicago style restaurant in our neck of the woods!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodThe food was outstanding and delicious. There were a couple odd quirks and unusual things that happened in the restaurant, but I assume that is due to the fact that they only recently opened. Overall E&O was fantastic and we will definetly return, I only wish my pocketbook could afford to come back more often.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AME+O is a welcome additionE+O is a welcome addition to the Arlington Heights neighborhood! Food was outstanding and creative. Especially enjoyed the tapas selections. Service was slow, but I attribute that to several young servers who likely are new to the restaurant world. Although slow at times, everyone was very helpful. After ordering our entrees, we were told that things are made fresh so they usually don't come out together. For a restaurant of this type that's really more a sign of an unorganized kitchen. I hope that this will be resolved over time. Still recommend going!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely loved this place.Absolutely loved this place. We are planning another evening to meet with fiends. Fodd was outstanding and the staff was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood NirvanaI enjoyed the sweet-and-spicy lollipop style chicken wings sprinkled with Buddha dust, and the Buddha burger. It was food nirvana! I felt like a Happy Buddha!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe red velvet lava cake forThe red velvet lava cake for dessert was amazing! The duck hash small plate/salad was delicious. The beet salad was lacking. This resturant was modern & beautiful. The free valet service in front was also great. Also, enjoyed the sushi rolls.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a great dining experience,It was a great dining experience, not what you would expect to find in a mall setting.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant was beautiful,The restaurant was beautiful, I had a great server, and the food was very good. I would definitely go back for more…4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent menu. Healthy choices.Excellent menu. Healthy choices. Drinks unusual and fantastic. Feel like you are in downtown Chicago except for the view into the parking spaces. Recommend they put something up to block/minimize the poor view.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love E & O, this was ourWe love E & O, this was our second visit and we will be back! Each dish we shared was delicious and fun to try, it was a food adventure for us. The service is great too. It felt like we were downtown in the city, yet only a few miles from home. Thank you E & O for venturing to the suburbs...you won't regret it. So many of us love great dining experiences and don't want to go downtown to find them.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm repeating myself. ButI'm repeating myself.
But after 6 or so flawless experiences,
this place really is GREAT.
The Daily Herald owes you a great review.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI was in the restaurant businessI was in the restaurant business for over 12 years as both a server and a manager. E+O scored high points with me for food and service. From a food stand point, it was an eclectic menu with fresh ingredients and interesting combinations. The appetizers (shrimp in a spicy sauce and a brussels sprout & kale combo) that blew me away with their flavor and ended up having another appetizer (crab cake) and small salad (Kale - dressing a little too sweet) for my entree. Delicious! The manager brought a complimentary dish of pasta which was a nice welcoming touch, but not quite as delicious as the appetizers we had. Coffee was nice and strong, but the carrot cake was just OK. Service was exceptional! Knowledgeable + helpful.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery ImpressedWow. I was very impressed on all fronts. My wife and I stuck to the small plates and shared a dessert. Everything was wonderful. The small plates were not too small (2 would make an entree sized offering for sure) and each dish was perfectly prepared and each had a an extra dash of flavor, texture or visual appeal that was perfect in completing the dish. Noise level was moderate but the place was packed by the time we left. Attractive bar scene. I look forward to returning.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!!E+O food and drink had been recommended to me and after perusing the menu online I was excited to try it. I was not disappointed. The food was spectacular. The service was great. Our server and busboy were eager to help and explain the dishes. Which is nice when the the food is eclectic such as this.
It was a little pricey but I thought completely worth it. The 2 of us shared 2 small plates, we each had soup, a cocktail and an entree for $100 plus tip. So, not outrageous but I will keep my eyes open for coupons for next time :)
Do not let the prices or eccentric menu deter you - this place is terrific and I can't wait to go back!!!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurant! GreatLove this restaurant! Great food, excellent service.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMVIVA E+O! Don't Miss This Place! What a FANTASTIC brunch!
And...only $25.
Our party of three enjoyed the variety
and high quality presentations and flavor.
Believe me, I ain't overselling it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI went there for Easter brunch.I went there for Easter brunch. The food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere and energy of the place. The service was good - but could have been better. Our waitress was extremely nice, however, she never offered us another drink after we had finished the one mimosa that came with brunch. Also, the ambiance was great but we were seated in the backroom, which took away from the experience a little. All and all, it was a very good experience and I will definitely go back.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster BrunchWonderful brunch for a great price. This was Easter brunch and it wasn't your typical carving table, omelet station brunch. There were eggs and sausage to satisfy the usual brunch crowd but then there was sushi and a benedict bar. You made your own mimosa with a variety of juices or you could enhance your bloody mary from a bloody mary bar. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We will be back to try out the dinner menu. Dinner looks to be a bit more expensive but I think it will be worth it. Had a great meal3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst thing, everyone wasFirst thing, everyone was welcoming and professional. My boyfriend and I were seated in the back, closed area from the main floor. It was nice and quiet, although our table was next to the windows/door, so a slight breeze came through and became a little chilly. It was managable though, we had a drink. Our server, Jane, was very knowledgable about each dish we ordered and also recommended some great small plates. She was so sweet and patient with us. We were ordering a plate or two every time, slowly. We ended up ordering several small plates, few sushi bites, and an entree. Throughout the whole time the assistant manager came by to check on us.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen to E + O twice and hadBeen to E + O twice and had a fabulous time both outings. Love their menu and the waiters were spot on in helping us
Highly recommend fir their spectacular menu and pricing is good
Sharing dishes adds to the experience. Don't miss this place.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting, delicious food.Interesting, delicious food. Very knowledgeable staff and terrific service. Can't wait to return!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMEarth and Ocean. An interestingEarth and Ocean.
An interesting mingling of all things from the earth and ocean. Flavorful and surprising. Riverwalk Chicago in Mount Prospect.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food. Sunda of theFabulous food. Sunda of the burbs. Downtown vibe. Great drinks. Attentive wait staff Especially loved a cocktail call Purity and the pork belly. Need to go back soon. So much I want to try!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI have now eaten at E+O fourI have now eaten at E+O four times. I had great experiences each time. The stand out dishes for me are the chicken wings, the smoke pea "hummous" and cauliflower, the crispy brussel sprouts and kale salad, the bone marrow with carne asada, the Malaysian fried rice, the tuna poke, the clam chowder, the hamachi roll, and the pineapple carrot cake. The chicken and rice, kurobuta pork, ribeye steak, pork belly adobo, crispy pata, and chocolate pudding were good. The gnocchi, linguini, and pizza alla romana were okay, but definitely not as exciting as the other dishes; I probably would not order those dishes again, since there are so many other delicious things on the menu. The service is always fantastic!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was fantastic.Everything was fantastic. Lots of great options. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA real gem at RandhurstEverything on the menu was unique and interesting. Great combinations of food items. Almost everything we tried was delicious.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AME+O has got it right!E+O has got is right! I'm a very picky eater and everything I have tried there has been amazing! Very different pairings and unique way of combining ingredients that all end up being very tasty. So glad the Northwest Suburbs have a chic and delicious place to go.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMtop rate experience. the foodtop rate experience. the food is excellent and the menu has something for everyone.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDowntown Menu and Feel in SuburbsThe food was amazing, with a large array of flavors throughout the sushi. The restaurant was very quiet for lunch, but I suspect that is because it was very full once. Once people discover this place, I think it will have a more lively atomosphere, even at lunch time. I have already recommended E+O to my family and friends3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI can't say enough....I love this place. The food was terrific. Small plates work well for two people. We ordered three and a pizza. The small plates would have been fine for us. The food had a terrific asian and healthy blend, while also tasting delicious. I'm not kidding this is like having a Chicago restaurant right here in the suburbs. I'm so happy it's here. (P.S. the price is definitely within reason)3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant ambiance, interestingPleasant ambiance, interesting menu with mildly seasoned offerings that sound more imposing than they are. We particularly enjoyed the brussel sprout appetizer. The sushi was very good. The short ribs were very good as were the prawns. Friendly, attentive service.
We'll be back again.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious! GreatFood was delicious! Great decor... Felt like we were at a restaurant in the city. Service was good, not great at the table. However, we sat at the bar before dinner and the bartender was great - answered any and all questions and gave great recommendations for dinner. We split a few small plates and then had three entrees for four people. There were so many items on the menu that looked delicious it was hard to narrow down what to order. The Sea Bass was delicious! Second was the argentinian gaucho steak - great as well! Chicken cutlet was good for our non adventurous friend. highly recommend and can't wait to go back.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was excellent!!!Everything was excellent!!! Great food, staff!! Met owner he was also wonderful!! Fun to split everything!! Let staff just bring things they like!! Was fantastic will definetly be back!!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMChef LarryWe have come to expect the best from Rodelio, Paul and Aeron and were not disappointed either of the times we have been at E+O to date. The food is excellent, especially our favorite brussel sprout and kale salad. The food, service and drinks are exceptional and are equal to any downtown restaurant without having to drive the extra hour to get there. Definitely a gem in the North Suburbs. We have recommended to everyone we know. Way to go E+O!!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMNothing Like It In ANY Chicago BurbAs of today (saturday the 16th) we will have made 4 visits to E+O in two weeks. To say we like it would be an understatement. Service a bit rough around the edges. But I'm sure will improve.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding ExperienceThis was a very good experience as I understand this establishment opend only 2 weeks ago.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSeemed a bit over priced forSeemed a bit over priced for the amount of food you received and the bar is a bit overpriced as well for the suburbs. We had 2 small plates, a full entree, 1 cocktail and a "on the rocks" drink. Our check was over $80 for just 2 people. $8 for a cocktail isn't horrible for $12 for an "On the rocks" non-premium liquor seems off kilter. Doesn't seem like a restaurant you'd bring your kids to, but it there was one kid at every few tables, on a Tuesday night.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMount Prospect has a WINNER! E+OE+O is Mount Prospect's best kept secret. But it won't be for long once the word get's out about what a fabulous place this is to dine. We had a wonderful experience. The food and drink choices were creative, fresh and tasted wonderful. The service was excellent as well. I also liked the fact that ownership and Chef Rodelio “Food Buddha” were present and onsite. I think that makes a huge difference in the way things run. We will be regulars at this place.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHooray for the Food Buddah! For our second visit we brought seven of us.
Everyone delighted. Perfect table.
Service a bit rough around the edges.
That's not to say the young lady who served us was
anything less than pleasant and attentive.
The specialty cocktails are excellent.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
