E+O Food and Drink. The name refers to a casual establishment, a place for everyday eating and drinking, “food and drink” is inviting and unpretentious and ambiguous.
New American cuisine refers to the melting pot our country has become today, sushi, pasta, Asian, Mediterranean and even Indian flavors are used in everyday cooking. The exposure to these cuisines is no longer limited to cosmopolitan cities. New American cuisine, still embraces comfort food, yet updated.   • "refreshing "urban feel" in the suburbs. Fantastic and interesting dishes. Service was extremely attentive. One downside - don't go there to talk. Too loud for a table of 6 or more to hear across the table. Definitely a must-go!"

  • "E + O was fantastic! Our server, Colleen, gave us several menu selections beginning with the brussels sprouts & kale, which was amazing! Scallops were seared to perfection and the Disco Fries are a must! For entrees, we again went with Colleen recommendations of half-chicken, sea bass squash pizza and parpadalle ragu... All of the dishes were amazing! We passed on dessert, but hung out for an after dinner drink. The scene was great, we dined in the bar at a table and it was vibrant and not overcrowded. We will absolutely return to E + O and look forward to their summer menu!"

  • "Beautiful facility. Contemporary design and artwork were great eye candy. They tried with the food and staff, really, but there was no soul. Sushi & pizza were kind of average. The steak was a fatty, cheap cut of beef (3 of us had steak). The desserts were lovely - had a tres leches and a gluten free item that were delish. Noise level was such that we could not hear across the table and we could not wait to get out of there. Total bill would have been $355 for 4 diners (without tip). Thank god for the groupon which brought it down to about $243 (we each had a drink or two)."

Also, she spoke very softly and was very difficult to understand. Otherwise, the food was great and everyone had a very good time."

The food, service, and overall experience is one of the finest we've had in a long time. The waiter made excellent suggestions, that we would not have ordinarily tried, that were delicious. Highly recommend his service because he's everything a great server should be, but he is enthusiastic and on point.   • "Solid food and restaurant ambiance. Very capable and knowledgeable waiter. My only beef was they gave us the worst table in the restaurant even though I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. That was extremely disappointing. I took the time to make a reservation far in advance, and they gave us a table in that back room (blue) in the far corner right next to the water pitchers. Being that was my first visit to E & O restaurant, it was a let down."

A nearly perfect meal in the Northwest suburbs was marred only by uninspiring glassware, and a dining room annex which was cramped and failed to match the ambience in the larger dining room and adjacent bar.   • "This is an incredible new find, I can't wait to go back again. The location is not seen from the street but is perfectly located in the middle of stores and a movie theatre. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great wine list and the menu has a variety of wonderful dishes. I Have many favorites but the one I could eat every day was the Brussels Sprouts and Kale Salad. The flavors and presentations will not disappoint. The suburbs need more restaurants like this!"

  • "Location in a mall does not mean it is bad. We went there for lunch, and the food was beyond our expectation. One had today's special, BLT sandwich and tomato bisque, the other had Chicken mbt sandwich, and both were very tasty. We would like to come back again for another opportunity. It must be a fun place to be in the dinner scene. Interesting menu to cover from American, Asian to Italian."

Also, they need to do something about how loud it is in there, waiter had a hard time hearing us! But the food was excellent, the owner sent over two sushi rolls that were excellent! Definitely will go back!"

  • "Trendy ambiance and large variety of different foods. Craft beer bottles are a bit overpriced at $7, and the appetizers are extremely small and expensive. The dinners were fresh, artistic, a bit salty and might appeal to foodie want-to-bes, but I can't say I would return with the many other options in the NW burbs. I can see the appeal for 20-30 somethings (I'm 32), and it is good to go to for something that feels a little different, but I don't see this as a regular hang out place for the high price and slightly below average service that we received. I chose to try this location based on all of the glowing reviews on such a new restaurant, but I left quite disappointed. It is certainly possible we had poor service staff by chance."

  • "This restaurant lives up to it's buzz. The decor is hip and makes you forget that you are in a suburban mall. The food was delicious. Everyone in my group enjoyed their entrees but the highlights of the night was the Buffalo Smash drink and the carrot cake dessert. The service was spot-on even before we arrived. The day before our reservation someone from E&O called to confirm our reservation and to ask if we were celebrating a special occasion. When we arrived for dinner we were immediately seated and given a small sample of one the dishes available. Our waitress was great and was happy to let us sit and talk without being rushed (we asked if she needed the table at one point). Overall, E&O was a great experience and we will all be back."

  • "First time at the establishment and was impressed all around. Very energetic, young feel to the restaurant. Great service and the food is even better. Reasonably priced for the freshness and deliciousness of the food. So many great sounding items on the menu, the most difficult part of the experience was narrowing down our order choices. Only complaint would be the noise level of the restaurant was very high. There were times it was difficult to hear the server or even carry on a conversation without feeling like you were on the verge of shouting. However, this was not near enough of a negative aspect to not put this on the list of definite places to return to."

  • "Food is not the usual suburban fare, more like a city, chef focused place. Love the share concept so you can hit all the menu highlights in a single visit. Server was knowledgeable about the food and wine and her recommendations were spot on. Dishes that stood out: Duck hash, Brussels sprouts and Kale, smoked scallops. I will definitely add E&O to my visit frequently list. It would be close to impossible to not find a dish or two to love on this menu!"

  • "Went here on Valentine's Day (Friday)- we were a group of 5. Food was very good- they have a great menu of tapas and main dishes to choose from. We had so many tapas we didn't order a "real meal"- drinks were great and the desserts are to die for. I would definitely go back and suggest to all my friends to check this place out. It was a cold, snowy night so we didn't have a chance to see the outdoor area. Loved the ambiance and our waiter was very attentive and friendly- will definitely be going back."

  • "My fiance and I went to E + O for our Valentine's Day dinner and it was a fantastic experience. Although they offered a special Valentine's Day menu, we decided to order several small plates and sushi instead. The atmosphere was very unique and had a very contemporary and elegant vibe. The food was amazing, especially the crab cake. That was our favorite part of the entire meal. The dessert was the perfect ending too. We ordered the Red Velvet Molten Cake which was to die for. The sweetest part was at the end of our meal: the server brought out a mini chinese takeout box wrapped in ribbon and inside were two homemade chocolate truffles for us to take home. Very sweet touch. We will definitely be back when the patio opens!"

  • "We're a big fan of E+O, however I'm not sure they were prepared for their own popularity on the evening of Valentime's Day. We weren't in a rush so not a huge deal for us. The kitchen seem to keep up with the food just fine, however the bar and sushi station were inexorably slow. Overall a nice dining experience, but they've done better."

Every item ordered was tremendous. Approachable menu items with a slight twist to make it unique. Great wine list. Let's give this place some business and maybe more restaurants of this quality will emerge in the barren northern suburbs."

  • "THE FOOD WAS GOOD BUT THE SERVICE WASN'T GOOD. THERE WERE FOUR OF US AND WE ALL SAID THE SAME THING. IT WAS VERY CROWDED AND THE SERVER MENTIONED THE KITCHEN WAS BEHIND, BUT THAT DOESN'T EXCUSE THEM. WE MIGHT TRY IT AGAIN TO SEE IF IT WAS JUST AN OFF NIGHT."
