Diner Reviews
  • "Very nice outdoor seating, great music- not so good if you are trying to have a conversation. Best to order a bunch of appetizers and sushi, rather than a traditional dinner. Food was good with delicate flavors and very fresh. Some portions were quite small - 3 medium size scallops for $15.00- a bit steep. Good choices for alcohol."

  • "Once again we had a lovely evening on the patio. Enjoyed the vegetarian Pho. Can't get enough of the smoked pea hummous dish. You want a great nite of dining...you want to eat here."

  • "City feel, with trendy atmosphere with a convenient burb location. Easy parking."

  • "The food came out almost too fast, I felt like we were speed dining! There were some terrific dishes but some were VERY under seasoned. I would for sure come back for the brussel sprout salad!"

  • "It is such a great place to go for lunch and relax outside. Their menu is very eclectic and offers different choices than most restaurants"

  • "The appetizers are much better than the main dishes which lacked flavor. Our server was very attentive, but that is no substitute for bland food. The sushi was very good, but considerably overpriced for what you get."

  • "Upon walking in we were impressed with the modern layout. There was a choice of indoor/outdoor seating, we had made reservations, but didn't get seated until after an hour of being there. The waiter described the special and it was nothing like he had depicted. We asked for a wine list from 2 different servers, which both had stated was on the menu (yet there was a wine list). The food seemed as if it would have a lot of flavor by the description on the menu; however, tasted bland. The best thing on the menu was the duck appetizer, and the squidink dish. As for the chicken carbonara and steak (MP), these two dishes were in dire need of reconstruction. Dessert choices were bland as well. If we are to return, it better improve."

  • "We went there for a birthday celebration. We were in the mood to have a good time no matter what. When I questioned the server about gluten-free items, she asked me if I was "really gluten-free" or just "doing a diet thing". I "really" have celiacs. It upset me; made me feel like a jerk for having food allergies. We ordered salads and rolls to split. One of us ordered a soup; we all ordered our own main entrée. Each item came out one at a time. It was very unsettling to have one salad show up and watch those two people eat it, and later our salad shows up. The entrees did however show up at the same time. The food was good, which is to be expected. It wasn't Oh My Gosh I Can't Wait to Come Back."

  • "Eaten there multiple times. Always great food and service. We had Chris on the patio, first time sitting outside, and he was great! The brussel sprout salad is hands down one of the best things on the menu. Really everything you order is so good! I'm obsessed with this suburban spot with a city feel!"

  • "Loved E & O...we ate outside..warm and breezy. I picked two items (the crunchy brussel/kale) and Its Like That tuna roll - My husband chose skirt steak (delish) and the disco fries covered in gravy and cheese. OMG We shared everything and both of us really enjoyed this ecclectic meal. I had mentioned it was our anniversary on open table request....so our awesome waiter Chris surprised us with a candle in the yummy carrot cake dessert. Thanks so much for a perfect recommendation...something for everyone..great service, etc."

  • "All the choices are a bit unusual but in a good way. And they taste very good, especially the double patty burger. The only issues we had came out when my friend ordered sushi asking specifically that will not include any mayo and all fish in sushi is mixed with mayo. This information is not listed on the menu and it should be since you would expect a piece of pure fish with other ingredients not fish infused in mayo. She had to return the order and received the new one with no mayo with no problems."

  • "We went for the special Fathers Day menu which was uninspired; especially not the children's options. It would have been very easy to offer a kids noodle or rice dish that wasn't like a typical restaurant. Activities were not set up -bago set was laying on its side outside. In an attempt to order something less typical we ordered fried rice and it didn't have any indication of spice level and while only moderately spicy it was too spicy for our kids (and the server didn't offer any information about the dish to indicate that either). It is clearly not a kid friendly restaurant; which is fine but then the fathers day special should have been more clearly laid out as to what it entailed. Servers were very blah. I expected more."

  • "We come here often and is our favorite restaurant in the area. The Sunday bloody mary bar is great. The sushi is fantastic as well as many of the appetizers. The brussel sprout and kahle salad is the best!"

  • "We came for brunch, especially the french toast and crab cake eggs benedict but there was no brunch! The caprese salad was ok- the stickers were still on the tomatoes. Sushi was great, brussel salad amazing, short rib papardelle lush."

  • "The menu was very diverse and creative. The food was very tasty. The noise level was very high. The service was a little slow. I will definitely return again and try some different items on the menu."

  • "We have been to E & O several times and have raved about the food! It was the choice for a special Father's day dinner. We ordered two appetizers which came in a timely manner. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. We had two children who ordered grilled cheese sandwiches. Who else thinks waiting more than an hour for grilled cheese sandwiches is ridiculous??? Our waiter apologized and came up with some lame excuse. He could be seen arguing with someone in the kitchen. The two grilled cheese sandwiches arrived, but we had to wait additional time for the rest of the dinners! When our dinner finally arrived, my husband's steak was burnt on one side. What a disappointment! Really off their game today!"

  • "We sat on the patio on a warm summer evening which was beautiful. The setting sun was pretty bright but that resolved itself soon. There was live music, however, was VERY loud even though it was no more than 2 people on acoustic guitars. The female singer must have thought she was in Carnegie Hall for all the volume she was belting out. The food and our server were very good. We all liked our drinks - specialty cocktails and a good selection of beer."

  • "Service was excellent and attentive to our needs, food was outstanding and very different menu from the usual but tasty. noise level could be contained a bit, especially since person next to us had a loud voice but overall a great experience."

  • "Perhaps it is because we came during the 1/2 priced deal of Happy Hour but our waiter was unhappy and uninterested in either working or serving us. We order a few things to share and just asked that they not all arrive at once. Waiter grunted. It was very slow. There was easily 20 minutes between the flatbread and a sushi roll. At the end of our 2 hours there (not our choice to linger that long) the waiter suddenly found himself and was animated and sharing his favorites with the table next door. Then tried to be friendly and personable as we said we wanted our check. Too little too late. Waiter discolored whole experience. Great outdoor dining space."

  • "Will never go back. My wife has food allergies and was there once before where they screwed up in not taking her order. Manager told her to please come back. So, we did and the waiter could not have started off in the worst way possible. He could not have been more impatient and came across as inconvenienced by my wife's questions on what she could eat. Response to question of substituting plain cooked shrimp for tempura shrimp in a maki roll was they were busy and the cooks would need to cut the shrimp. Not sure how my roll came out with my tempura shrimp cut! The genius finally decided to talk to the cooks and, in fact, they could make a roll with shrimp, but had to charge extra. Just never going back."

  • "Who would have thought in Randhurst shopping center that they would have this little gem of a restaurant. Server was knowledgeable about the menu and in fact had tried most of the items. They were more than willing to make changes to the normal preparation. We had 2 different salads, the salmon sushi, cream corn sauce over pasta, and a pizza. Be aware that the 9 vegetable salad does not come with any lettuce but they were happy to put some romaine in for me. They have live music outside after 6:30 on Friday and Saturday. The reason for one deduction on service is they served kind of fast and did not allow us to finish one course before the next arrived. "

  • "I have been to this restaurant 4 or 5 times. The food is great, interesting. Look is trendy, creative. Good service. Try anything with brussel sprouts or kale (foods I normally avoid), they do a very unusual spin on these."

  • "My husband and I loved our meal. I had a strip steak, which I found a little fatty but I'm used to Filet Mignon. The desserts were the superstar. The carrot cake was amazing. I generally dislike it, and my husband always orders it. I would order it for myself next time."

  • "Been here several times now, excellent service, food is wildly creative and well prepared. Simple yet sophisticated. My new favorites are short ribs, the kale and brussel salad, the brunch eggs benedict, any way, and the french toast. Totally worth the trip. Too bad its in the mall, so view is not so inspiring and inconsistant with the food, but glad its close to home."

  • "This is a great place to meet friends and try different eclectic foods, there is a great selection of small plate items, main dishes and sushi. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Food is awesome, must tries are Crispy brussels sprouts & Kale and the carrot cake. The "beverages" are not half bad either! The Sunday brunch is worth checking out too. If you're strictly a plain meat and potatoes kind of person, this might not be the place for you. "

  • "I wanted to bring my mom somewhere special for Mother's Day so I chose e+o for brunch on Saturday. The food was great but we waited a little over an hour for an simple two egg breakfast with a side of French toast. They told us they were out of wheat toast so we suggested a side of French toast. I just feel bad I had my mom waiting so long and she was very hungry. I hope it is not always like this because it would be nice to maybe come back. "

  • "This place has such poor acoustics and the noise level was so high that I could not hear the server describe the food nor could I talk to the person I was with who was sitting three feet away. The noise level was not energetic it was plain LOUD and I am not talking about the music ...it was the people in the restaurant. Our table by the window had about eight inches of room and I felt jammed into a tight spot. We ordered an salad app, a bowl of soup, a bowl of pasta and a California roll. The first three items hit the table back to back in mere seconds with no pacing so you could enjoy them...the roll came about 15 minutes after everything else.POOR The food was unique and somewhat eclectic but I will not go back. "

  • "We love this restaurant especially because we feel like we're back in the city even though we've moved to the burbs. The food is awesome and the service is fantastic. The only downside is that it is quite noisy and the tables are wide so if there are just two of you, it's hard to hear each other and you end up yelling a bit."
