  • "We had reservations for 6:15, but got to the restaurant early so we opted to sit at one of the high tops in the bar. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the decor was a vast improvement to the old tiki bar look. We started with the short rib sliders and corn fritters from the happy hour menu, and they were tasty and well seasoned. Next we ordered the dry fried green beans and drunken noodles. These were quite spicy compared to the first two dishes, but again flavorful and the portions were perfect, as we still had room for dessert. Torn between the bananamisu and the warm spicy ginger cookies, we decided to order both, with the cookies to go. An excellent decision and I highly recommend the cookies, and E&O Asian Kitchen."

  • "We picked this off the internet while in SFO on vacation. What a great surprise! Inventive, creative and delicious menu. Great service. We tried a number of dishes - the black cod and Malaysian chicken were outstanding. Recommend to anyone - especially those that are adventurous eaters."

  • "We love a good excuse to come here to share food and wine. Everything is very tasty. We don't eat a lot of meat, so finding tasty veggie food is important to us. We are always very pleased with the level of service, speed of food, how the food is seasoned, freshness and wine selection. And the lighting is perfect."

  • "Too noisy for a business lunch. Wait staff did everything they could to accommodate us, but still too noisy. Great staff from front to back."

  • "Really cool looking Asian fusion spot right near all the shopping in Union Square. Large open format, nice decor, friendly staff. Food was a mix a standard favorites you'd find your favorite Asian restaurants, but they definitely had their own various twists on the flavor. One thing to note, with the kitchen nearby, the place can get a little noisy. I actually like that, as I hate having to speak super low to keep a conversation private, or be unable to block out the conversations of the tables around me. Overall, really liked the place and I'll be back."

  • "Great location. Food is consistently good. I have been a frequent patron for over 12 years now and saw all the transformation, renovation and name change. Hope they have more selection for dessert."

  • "I was in San Francisco on business and had planned to take a customer to dinner. He told me that E&O Asian Kitchen was his favorite place in town, so I jumped on Open Table and booked it. Great choice, the food and wine were great and our waitress was attentive. This is my new "go-to" place when I am in town."

  • "Traveled from East Asia to San Francisco. E&O provides simple and relatively original Asian food compared to Californian Restaurant.. Taste was good and refreshing (well organized) in my sense."

  • "Came here for our company dinner last year, but this was my first time eating at the typical E&O restaurant and it was very good and reasonably priced. Had the ribs, butternut squash and lettuce wraps and all three were phenomenal. The service was good, although the waiter did forget my papaya salad. Highly recommend checking this place out!"

  • "Went there for an early pre-show dinner, and ended up ordering off the Happy Hour menu (Sat 3-6). Price was right for the appetizers and small plates. Wine list was about 4 whites and 4 reds, a mediocre Sav Blanc and a better Proseco.. We had the Pu Pu Platter -- which had chicken satay, ribs, ahi sliders, pork sliders, corn fritters, and taro chips. Satay and Ribs were best. We also ordered oysters, and butternut squash dumplings in a red thai curry sauce. Really liked the dumplings. All that and 4 glasses of wine came in at about $60....... Service was OK....and we sat on first floor in bar area. Low chairs and small tables meant balancing all the dishes was a challenge."

  • "This was my third visit, and my experience has been so consistent, E & O Asian Kitchen has become a dependable favorite of mine. The food is so well prepared and artistically served, and the portions are perfectly sized (except for the ice cream dessert - I would have loved twice as much as they gave you, LOL). Victor, our server, was awesome. Just GO."

  • "Have been here a few times and enjoy the food and ambience. This time I got a beef dish, which was very tough. Disappointing but I will try it again nonetheless."

  • "Four of us really enjoyed our meal at E & O. We ordered 4 items and shared them. My all time favorite is the cod, my husband got the Korean beef and noodles (not my kind of noodle - too fat and gummy) which he liked, friends got pad thai and fried rice. Last two items were tasty and had elements a little different from the usual but were not a test of the kitchen. We eat here from time to time and like the more exotic items. Lamb naan, for example."

  • "Just as the concierge suggested for Asian Fusian. Gave both me and my college daughter something to choose from. Chicken lettuce cups had a great slightly different flavor. Pot stickers were delicious with good sauces. Glass noodle dish was fine, could have used a little pep, suppose I should have asked for some spicy sauce to add to it. Overall very pleased."

  • "I recently had a medium sized group event and was told to adhere to a pre-fixe menu list of options; while the appetizers were good, the entrees were tasteless and bland, HUGELY DISAPPOINTING, especially given the number of times I told their event coordinator person that my group consisted of many foodies who enjoyed flavor, but she kept telling me how she's been in the industry for 20 + years and knows this and that, all in a very condescending manner and a tone that told me that my input and opinions were dumb. Also the portion size was small and my guest left hungry and unsatisfied. This was upsetting to the say the least. The bright spots were the service at the time of the dinner, which was super wonderful, and the ambiance."

  • "We selected this place on a last second whim our first night in San Francisco and are very happy we did! We had the hangar steak satay, the coconut fish ceviche and the yellow squash dumplings. The food was absolutely amazing... different, but super appetizing. The service was a little slow, but it was a very busy night. About the only main complaint was the noise level, which at peak hour in the evening is pretty high. Also, if you want to order a drink, order the Jack Sparrow OR the Walking Dead... not both. They are too similar to tell apart. The Walking Dead comes in a red burgundy-style wine glass, so I would suggest the Jack Sparrow if you are looking for something a little more manly :) Definitely recommend coming here!"

  • "E&O exceeded my expectations! I chose this place to celebrate my birthday with 8 of my friends based only on yelp reviews. My and I had never been to this restaurant. I wanted a location with a great ambiance, good food and drinks, and somewhere close to Union Square. This place had it all and more. My server Ashley was so kind and very accommodating with our questions regarding the menu. It felt like we were ordering every item on the menu and each item was DELICIOUS! The corn fritters and shrimp satay was the hit for the night. The drinks were amazing... my friends and I had a FABULOUS time and I would recommend this place to everyone for either small group gatherings or intimate ones. Thanks E&O for making my birthday a GREAT one. :)"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Four of us shared several appetizer plates. Highlights were the corn fritters - so different and tasty! The shrimp satay were also a fave, as were the green beans! The ribs were big & meaty with a delicious sauce. We also agreed that the rum cocktail was wonderful! Place is noisey, but great fun."

  • "our experience was great, our waitress seemed to be covering the entire upstairs. her assistants were great, but service fell off after the main dishes were served. ordered dessert, came without utensils, utensils came several minutes later, then coffee came. Still will definitely comeback and all the staff were very friendly and service oriented. I felt bad for our waitress that had a large party and all the other tables as well. She was on it, but we missed wrapping up our evening with her."

  • "E&O has become a favorite among our group of friends. The food is terrific, as is the staff and ambience. Theater goers, each show gives us a great excuse to head to E&O for dinner, first. The other night, I'd made reservations for two (Valentine's Day) for 6:30. (Theater at 8:00.) I was to pick up my girlfriend from SF airport at 5:30, but her plane was late and she came out at 6:00. Normally, okay to get downtown in a 1/2 hour, but this was right during commute traffic. Calling the restaurant, I told them we'd probably lose our table, but maybe they could reserve bar seating for us. She said she'd try. Luckily, at 7:00 I found a parking space right in front(!), and the hostess found us a table! We were out in 50 mins. Score."

  • "Love the Indonesian rice. Have been there twice now when on visit from Texas. This time with 5 others Everybody loved their food. they have a lot of different items that you don't fiond elsewhere without being so weird that us non-foodies will not want them , Great balance of items to choose from."

  • "Service too forced and scripted. Managers going through the motions. Not family/kid-friendly at all. Attempt to appeal to hipsters with dark space and vibe. Food, OK but very pricey for portions. Once is enough."

  • "Came here for a working lunch to try the Dine About Town menu. E&O never disappoints! The papaya salad and mushroom dumplings were great to start, and the pad thai was a revelation! So much better than your usual pad thai... full of super tender and flavorful shrimp - some pieces were so large and juicy, they reminded me of lobster. Would absolutely recommend."

  • "My friend & I always share the corn fritter appetizer which was different in shape this time, but just as delicious as before. The Pad Thai and Gulf Prawn Salad were so also great. I just wish there were more for the salad because there are no carbs in this dish, and I still felt like I could eat more. The Pad Thai serving size however is a very healthy portion. And now I love their new E&O card where a customer can accumulate points each time we dine there. The reward could be a free drink, small or large plate based on how many points one adds up. Basically every dollar you spend is one point. Didn't have cocktails this time but I remember the drink list is fun."
