We felt very cramped in where the perfume from the woman from the nex table was effecting us. ALSO the New York Strip quality was sub par. I could have bought one at Safeway better cut for a fraction of the cost. The oysters were good, as well as the prime rib. The lambchop portion was small.

Forget Maestro's, Donovan's, Morton's.....Go straight to Durant's. The ambiance, the staff, the service are just the beginning. The best Oysters Rockefeller in the country, steaks are unbelievable, great wine list or try their drinks from the bar, their deserts you can go for all by themselves. We don't get paid for this review, nor are we related, just big fans for over 30 years. Our waitres, Sandy, is about charm, somellier, humor, all rolled up into one. Give Durant's a try.You'll see why we love this old Phoenix establishment.

Durants is a big player in central Phoenix for steaks. I have lived here all my life and had never gone there. My wife and I went there for our anniversary and it was worth the wait. Prime rib was perfect and the horseradish was the hottest I have ever had. All the staff was very friendly and wanted our dinning experience to be perfect and for the most part it was. The one criticism I have is the place is very noisy and the tables are all very close together so it not a good place for a quite/romantic dinner.

Durant's is really a historic relic. Long ago when it was the only really good steak house in Phoenix, you might find the Mayor, the Governor or members of congress schmoozing here. It actually hasn't changed at all, with the exception that now you can use electronic devices to make reservations. The wait staff are career servers, you won't find any of them bouncing up to your table to introduce themselves as your next best friend. They are serious well trained people. Durant's offers solidly good meals and for this reason is a place that Phoenicians should go to periodically to relive the past and remember their roots or just to say you have eaten there.

My husband and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary at Durants and the experrience was amazing. Didn't have to ask for anything, everything was provided for us. The waiter Kevin was great. It will not be our last time going there.
