  • "I emailed ahead of time because I am on a vegan, no oil diet. They made me a wonderful dinner and even made a complementary appetizer to go with the appetizers my family ordered."

  • "We had chosen Duo for our five year anniversary dinner. However, from start to finish the only thing notable was the (wrongly charged) wine. The waitress was pushy about drinks even after I said I wanted my wine with dinner. When we ordered the octopus appetizer, she said it was absolutely fantastic. However, she forgot to put the order into the kitchen so we will never know how good it was. The real kicker was I found hair in my food. She did try to show some remorse, but it was a soup that I didn't order to begin with as I don't like curry. Then, she seemed put off that we didn't order dessert. When the bill was brought, she had overcharged me for my wine. She never apologized for the missed appetizer, the hair again, or our experience."

  • "I had read recently from 5280 about Duo having more than just an afterthought for vegetarian options. There were several appetizers and two entrees that were meatless, which is rare for fine dining around town. We were seated after 20-30 minutes, but a manager came by and offered us a (non-vegetarian) appetizer as an apology (wow!), which for me (my husband is the vegetarian, not me) was amazing! All of the courses were great, but the entrees that both of us got were good but not out of this world. The one glaringly obvious weakness of the night was the service. I'm certain our waitress was new, since she talked too softly (it is loud!), did not have the specials memorized, and was not very attentive (and as a result, we were there forever."

We usually try to find a spot at the bar - always good conversations to be had there. But the service is wonderful in the dining room, too. Not a bad seat in this place. I'll be back, many times I'm sure."

  • "Thank god that Denver is so close to Colorado Springs as the Springs has every chain restaurant imaginable, but only one or two really wonderful restaurants. We happened upon Duo while looking for a farm-to-table restaurant during a recent trip to Denver. What a find! The food and service were exceptional. The various levels of taste in each and every dish (Blood Orange and Beet Salad, Chicken with Polenta, Arctic Char) made for such a wonderful dining experience. We plan on returning and will be bringing others along to experience this neighborhood restaurant that is truly a delight."

  • "Ordered their equivalent to eggs Benedict and, unfortunately the eggs were over cooked which is a tragedy (eggs were actually over cooked for three of four dishes). Otherwise the food was good. I ordered a bloody right when we got our food and canceled the order because we were done eating with plates cleared before it ever came. Service was fair at best. Espresso drinks were also disappointing. Based on a past visit I know these guys can do better so hoping next time they will get it right or it will be the last visit."

  • "My friend and I had dinner at Duo on a Thursday evening. At 7:30, the place was packed, but the atmosphere seemed relaxed and the staff did an excellent job. Despite the crowd, our server was relaxed and very friendly. We had cannelloni and ricotta dumplings, which were both incredible. I have eaten here about two dozen times over the past 4 or 5 years and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. It is a very warm and welcoming place."

Our table for 8 wasn't ready until 15 minutes after our reservation, but to make up for the wait, they served us pastries on the house and also bought us a few of our sides. Nice save. Will gladly go back again and highly recommend."

  • "The last time I went to Duo was close to 3 yrs ago and I remembered it fondly. But with time things can change. This time around I found the wait staff to be very helpful and friendly- thanks Emily! There was however no ambiance. Our table was crammed right within the path to the kitchen. Literally no room to be had and the noise level was quite loud. Our wine was delicious but I found our entree of pork chops dry and disappointing. The fish was a better choice. For dessert we ordered the chocolate and port. The ports were tasty but the chocolate was 3 chocolate Wafers. Not quite what I had in mind for a chocolate dessert. I had a good time as I was with good friends but none us will be heading back with the food being so so for our tastes."

Service - Arrived early for reservation with the hostess noting a possibility of getting a seat early; however that did not occur even with obvious empty tables for over 40 minutes. The rest of the evening was outstanding... never an empty water glass, and our server was very personable with a great sense of humor. Food - excellent... The porterhouse pork was underdone- (RAW) and the waiter was prompt to remedy the situation. The general manager acknowledge the situation. Favorite part of the meal was the sticky toffee pudding dessert."

My friend and I split an entree which was delicious! and Summer -- and the kitchen staff--were also very accommodating to my friend's very strict food allergies. I wish I could afford to come here more often-- (but I also wish a lot of things about my financial situation). Thank you for a really good dining experience. Our server was a bit slow in welcoming us but, from there things moved along at a reasonable pace. The beer and wine menu is extensive and local, dinner was delicious and both visually appealing and delicious. Although portions were not over-generous we left happy and full. Would highly recommend - I intend to return."
