Diner Reviews
  • "My wife and I tried Duo for the first time. It was delicious! She had salmon and I had one of the best buttermilk fried chicken dishes I've ever had! Excellent wine and beer selection as well!"

  • "Still my favorite restaurant in Denver. The salmon was perfect."

  • "We happened to have dinner at Duo on both Friday and Sunday night for two different business dinners. The food is fantastic and well presented. Service, however, needs some attention. On both occasions we sat at the table for at least ten minutes before our waiter ever came to the table. Once drinks were ordered it seemed like an eternity before they were delivered. You have a fantastic restaurant but don't loose it with slow service on the front side of the house."

  • "Early brunch Sunday with 3 others who hadn't seen each other in a while. We could hear one another perfectly, no shouting or leaning in to hear. The food was perfect; perfect temperature, perfect amount, tasted outstanding! Service was perfect; attentive, intuitive. A wonderful experience made perfect!"

  • "This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Denver. We have been very happy with our meals at every visit. Always the right amount of food and very flavorful. I only wish we had more good excuses to return. Can't wait to come back."

  • "Very unique options on the menu. They even had grits -- miss that after living in the south! I had family in from out of town and this place was recommended to me -- everyone loved it. Wish this place had a patio, though."

  • "The food was good, but considering the price it was not worth it. I had the scallops as a starter which was maybe one scallop diced up on 3 skewers. It needed acid and more scallop. The wine list was great. I had the buffalo ribeye which tasted burnt and too chewy, yet was moist. I expected more. Potatoes and leeks were too subtle for such a gamey steak. I had chocolate mousse and bourbon "ice cream". I loved both and yet together confusing. Neither was enough sweet enough and a creamy component was needed. It was mostly a slight bitter on bitter, which I did not appreciate. Where's the Beard award semi-finalist I heard about? I've had better and paid less. We spent $350 (without tip) for four people and I wish we had gone somewhere else."

  • "Duo's menu always features unique and unexpected flavors and perfectly cooked meats and fish. The specialty cocktails are amazing!"

  • "We had never tried Duo, but thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a great place to go when you are looking for "farm to table" fare."

  • "Great service, great food in an energetic and relaxed room. It has a creative menu that has something for everyone. Server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine offerings."

  • "The menu had excellent options for both vegetarian and carnivore alike. My wife and I both enjoyed our meals, but the highlight of our dining experience was dessert. With a limited choice (5 desserts), there were three that appealed to us and as our waiter said, "Any choice with dessert is a win." My wife and I would go back to Duo again, probably not for dinner, but for some wine and dessert."

  • "It's great - looking forward to our next visit. The hostess was charming, the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and agreeable. My wife chose the stripped bass (served whole w/ eyes, gills, tail) but she prefers a filet. The waiter agreed to ask the chef and the chef prepared and served the fish as fillets, delicious. I had the lamb and it was outstanding, perfectly seasoned and served at exactly the right temp. The waiter helped with a modest wine pairing that was perfect for two very different dishes. The room is a nice size and well decorated. Duo should be on everyone's must visit list - its now on our Top 10 Denver."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant in Denver! Friends were visiting from out of town and everyone was blown away by their dishes. The price is incredibly reasonable considering the great taste and commitment to local producers and farmers!"

  • "Had a reeeeeeeeeeally tasty brunch at Duo this past weekend. We got the egg in a basket with ham (5 stars) and the egg white omelet (4.5 stars). The basket of pasties were delicious and the coffee was the best I've had in Denver. I will be back for sure!!"

  • "This is the third time I have dined at Duo (twice for brunch, once for dinner). I have yet to be disappointed. Their brunch is my personal favorite, with refreshing twists on classic items, such as the Pork Glazed Benedict or the Egg in a Basket. Our party each got something different, and not a single item on the menu was just "okay". Even their pancakes were amazing, with a fresh strawberry compote and granola sprinkled on top. I will definitely be returning to Duo for another amazing brunch. Absolutely outstanding!"

  • "We have been to Duo many times, and have tried multiple season menus, yet this visit was the least memorable. Many dishes had common notes, so flavors quickly wore out. A couple dishes presented flavor combinations that failed to resonate. Dishes were presented well, service was decent, and food was solid....just not special on this visit."

  • "We both had the lamb and it was amazing. The only complaint is that sticky toffee pudding is not available all year long."

  • "My wife and I had a great anniversary dinner at Duo. The food was great. So much flavor. The service was awesome too. I had put a note on the OpenTable reservation that it was our 1st anniversary. Without ever mentioning it while I was at the restaurant, the hostess congratulated us and then our waitress did too by bringing us 2 glasses of Prosecco. Our waitress was attentive and helpful but no overwhelming or pushy. I would definitely go back to Duo for any type of occasion. The food is sooo good and the atmosphere is relaxed."

  • "We hadn't been to Duo in over a year, but chose it for a reunion of friends on a Sunday evening. It did not disappoint. We had lamb, brisket, and scallops as entrees, all flavored and cooked to perfection. The lamb "T-bone" was an inch thick and in the 1/3 pound range, herb crusted and seared, left a little pink inside but heated through and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Highly recommended. Seasonal vegetables (asparagus, turnips, potatoes, scallions) came with. The wine list is comprehensive without being overwhelming. And desserts to die for. Homemade chocolate macadamia gelato is now my new favorite. With coffee, drinks, and appetizer the bill with tip was about $60/person, worth every penny. "

  • "Great meal before going to a concert at the Pepsi Center, a nice choice in the Highlands, away from the hustle and bustle around the arena. Menu is eclectic and interesting as are the specialty cocktails. Everything was tasty. Would go back for sure!!"

  • "I ordered the Egg In The Hole, and it was seriously the best one I've ever had. My wife and I want to go back soon so we can both order that and enjoy it. Brunch at Duo is awesome too because you can typically get a reservation easily and not have to wait, unlike most brunch places (especially on a Sunday)."

  • "Loved the service, and the brunch menu. Loved the server as she was very accommodating and patience, as I had 1 additional guest arrive. My friends have never been there and loved it! "

  • "We heard great things about Duo from a friend of ours. The experience did not disappoint. The food was exceptional. The price point was very reasonable. The Port Trio and hand crafted chocolate dessert was a unique and fun treat. We were surprised at how busy the place was on a Wednesday evening. We will come back.....for sure."

  • "It took us over 3-1/2 hours for dinner. Our waiter was non existent and didn't care. At one point, we had to ask another waiter (twice) to get our waiter. It took us 45 minutes to get our ice cream and coffee at the end of the meal. The food was good, but portions are very small for the price. It was an $80 for the two of us and my husband had to stop somewhere on the way home to get more food! They also had run out of the beer he was drinking. We will not be going back."

  • "We celebrated my wife's last two birthdays at Duo because we are never disappointed when we dine there. The food was out standing and the service was attentive without being pretentious. The restaurant is small and intimate and at the same time lively, making it perfect for a special night out."

  • "I was treated to Mother's Day Brunch here-- organic and locally sourced food in a fun neighborhood restaurant. We enjoyed Zippy cakes (polenta with sausage in a fennel soffrito, topped by a poached egg, roasted red pepper and sunchoke quiche, and a vegetarian version of eggs benedict with a mustard cream sauce. Everything was excellent! Wine, beers, and specialty cocktails also. Our server was attentive and generous, giving us an extra chai the bartender made mistakenly. I will go again for the dinner menu. We shared a dessert that was fabulous---buttermilk ice cream with strawberries and a lovely cake with a tarragon sauce. I've never had anything like the cake----moist, tasty in its own right, and heaven with a berry and ice cream!"

  • "I've been going to Duo since 2009, and have NEVER EVER EVER had a bad table (because none exist), bad service (because the wait staff is excellent), bad food (because it is always perfectly prepared and presented), or bad wine (because the list is thoughtful and well matched with their menu). Duo never fails to please, and that's why I'll keep going back over and over and over again. It's always a wonderful experience. DUO IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN DENVER!!!"

  • "I made a reservation for brunch on a Saturday at Duo, and it was the perfect place to eat and celebrate with my ladies while shopping for my wedding dress. Our server was super friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, sharing with us the gluten free and vegetarian options. Everything was delicious, and the pink mimosas were the perfect touch to my special day. The light inside the restaurant was gorgeous, highlighting the funky window panes, and hip brick walls. So fun! I'm going back here as soon as we're back down in Denver."
