Diner Reviews
  • "Everything about the experience was perfect! We went for restaurant week and the choices were amazing."

  • "My boyfriend are new to the Denver area and this restaurant was recommended. We went for dinner and it was absolutely lovely. The food was delicious. From the appetizer to the main course to the amazing lemon box ice cake . . . a perfect place for a romantic date night."

  • "I was so delighted to introduce people to your restaurant. Everyone was so impressed with food and drink, wait staff and the general atmosphere. We will return"

  • "Been looking forward to Duo for quite some time based on recommendations from friends who know I love other Highland Foodie Joints nearby. The cocktail RM Julep & desserts, especially Tarragon Cake were up to snuff & amazing, but everything else fell short. Maybe because its Restaurant Week Menu? Everything else was good but nothing else was exciting or great. Will return for brunch based on amazing cocktails and desserts. Will think very very hard before returning to dinner at this price point. Hubby & I both didn't think it made the top anything list. Would not recommend over the other places nearby based on this one experience. If already going for Res Week, brisket and corn fritters were the better of the lackluster menu items."

  • "Excellent, creative brunch menu. Outstanding food. Superb service. Only negative was the noise level."

  • "This was a great girls night out spot. The food was unique and fresh and wonderful. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and share two deserts. I will be coming back with my husband"

  • "Great service! Great Food - we had the corn fritters - ordered a second round they were sooo good, the fried chicken, eggplant app, the seasonal salad that was refreshing but had a spicy kick at that same time, the papperdele pasta, and the fish. The server let us sample some wine before we chose our final bottle. We didn't feel rushed after being there for over 2 hours. Such a gem!"

  • "Have been twice now - Duo definitely deserves a great review. Outstanding service. Delicious dishes with creative presentation. Fun environment. Altogether made for 2 fun dates!"

  • "Drinks/coffee order taken immediately but then Cappuccinos arrived well after the bread and pastry basket and actually only after the main course arrived! Not the way it was expected to be and always has been in past visits."
    Dined on 8/10/2014
  • "We loved everything from the marinated olives, yummy beets and fritter apps, to the entre's fish, lamb, buffalo, chicken all delicious! Clean plates all around! Finished by sharing duo chocolate desert that left us all amazed. Great service too!"

  • "Interesting menu using seasonal ingredients. Knowledgeable wait staff. Really enjoyed the recommended dessert, lemon ice cream cake."
    Dined on 8/7/2014
  • "A small problem with my dinner, turned into a completely re-done plate and desserts for our table to share. The waitress and manager couldn't have treated us better. Thank you."

  • "Wow! What great a great dinner we had! Started with Moscow Mules which were refreshing and great. Had some onion-fritter things for an app and they were absolutely wonderful served on a bed of delicious sauce with crispy zucchini noodles - great juxtaposition of taste and texture. Then we order fish which was wonderful as well - cooked perfectly, not saucy and goopy - on some delicious rice. The lemon dessert was to die for! Very lemony and the right amount of creamy goodness. Service was slow, but no big complaints as we were enjoying ourselves. A dinner to remember."

  • "Took my gal here on our first date and were amazed. Our server was kind, informative, and attentive. The food was some of the best I've ever had. If you are looking for a romantic dinner, look no further."

  • "I have been coming to Duo for more than 7 years and I have never had a bad meal. The place feels like home and the staff are incredibly helpful and nice. I hope to continue to eat at Duo another 7 or more years!"

  • "Great date night spot. We enjoyed the evening for a great date."

  • "My wife and I tried Duo for the first time. It was delicious! She had salmon and I had one of the best buttermilk fried chicken dishes I've ever had! Excellent wine and beer selection as well!"
    Dined on 7/23/2014
  • "Still my favorite restaurant in Denver. The salmon was perfect."

  • "We happened to have dinner at Duo on both Friday and Sunday night for two different business dinners. The food is fantastic and well presented. Service, however, needs some attention. On both occasions we sat at the table for at least ten minutes before our waiter ever came to the table. Once drinks were ordered it seemed like an eternity before they were delivered. You have a fantastic restaurant but don't loose it with slow service on the front side of the house."

  • "Early brunch Sunday with 3 others who hadn't seen each other in a while. We could hear one another perfectly, no shouting or leaning in to hear. The food was perfect; perfect temperature, perfect amount, tasted outstanding! Service was perfect; attentive, intuitive. A wonderful experience made perfect!"

  • "This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Denver. We have been very happy with our meals at every visit. Always the right amount of food and very flavorful. I only wish we had more good excuses to return. Can't wait to come back."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "Very unique options on the menu. They even had grits -- miss that after living in the south! I had family in from out of town and this place was recommended to me -- everyone loved it. Wish this place had a patio, though."

  • "The food was good, but considering the price it was not worth it. I had the scallops as a starter which was maybe one scallop diced up on 3 skewers. It needed acid and more scallop. The wine list was great. I had the buffalo ribeye which tasted burnt and too chewy, yet was moist. I expected more. Potatoes and leeks were too subtle for such a gamey steak. I had chocolate mousse and bourbon "ice cream". I loved both and yet together confusing. Neither was enough sweet enough and a creamy component was needed. It was mostly a slight bitter on bitter, which I did not appreciate. Where's the Beard award semi-finalist I heard about? I've had better and paid less. We spent $350 (without tip) for four people and I wish we had gone somewhere else."

  • "Duo's menu always features unique and unexpected flavors and perfectly cooked meats and fish. The specialty cocktails are amazing!"

  • "We had never tried Duo, but thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a great place to go when you are looking for "farm to table" fare."
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "Great service, great food in an energetic and relaxed room. It has a creative menu that has something for everyone. Server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine offerings."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "The menu had excellent options for both vegetarian and carnivore alike. My wife and I both enjoyed our meals, but the highlight of our dining experience was dessert. With a limited choice (5 desserts), there were three that appealed to us and as our waiter said, "Any choice with dessert is a win." My wife and I would go back to Duo again, probably not for dinner, but for some wine and dessert."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "It's great - looking forward to our next visit. The hostess was charming, the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and agreeable. My wife chose the stripped bass (served whole w/ eyes, gills, tail) but she prefers a filet. The waiter agreed to ask the chef and the chef prepared and served the fish as fillets, delicious. I had the lamb and it was outstanding, perfectly seasoned and served at exactly the right temp. The waiter helped with a modest wine pairing that was perfect for two very different dishes. The room is a nice size and well decorated. Duo should be on everyone's must visit list - its now on our Top 10 Denver."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant in Denver! Friends were visiting from out of town and everyone was blown away by their dishes. The price is incredibly reasonable considering the great taste and commitment to local producers and farmers!"

  • "Had a reeeeeeeeeeally tasty brunch at Duo this past weekend. We got the egg in a basket with ham (5 stars) and the egg white omelet (4.5 stars). The basket of pasties were delicious and the coffee was the best I've had in Denver. I will be back for sure!!"

  • "I had much higher expectations considering the long time reputation of Duo. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food and service. Maybe my experience was unfortunate timing, but I will not try again as there are many other options."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "This is the third time I have dined at Duo (twice for brunch, once for dinner). I have yet to be disappointed. Their brunch is my personal favorite, with refreshing twists on classic items, such as the Pork Glazed Benedict or the Egg in a Basket. Our party each got something different, and not a single item on the menu was just "okay". Even their pancakes were amazing, with a fresh strawberry compote and granola sprinkled on top. I will definitely be returning to Duo for another amazing brunch. Absolutely outstanding!"

  • "As always, fresh food prepared with care and served tastefully"

  • "We have been to Duo many times, and have tried multiple season menus, yet this visit was the least memorable. Many dishes had common notes, so flavors quickly wore out. A couple dishes presented flavor combinations that failed to resonate. Dishes were presented well, service was decent, and food was solid....just not special on this visit."
