The food was amazing, was a little worried with such a small menu happily that was a blessing. The server picked an amazing wine to go with every meal on the table. The cost is a bit up there but well worth it. I plan to go back.

This was our third visitto the restaurant. Tables are comfortably spread apart so you are not having to talk over the noise from the other tables! The wait staff is around when you need them but not in your face interrupting your meal. Food is always great. Our table ordered the Buffalo, Lamb Balls, and Swordfish. Each dish was prepared perfectly and was delicious.

Duo was a nice restaurant, but lacked the extra effort to make the dining experience and food really wonderful. All the ingredients were fresh and the recipes are there, but the execution is poor. As a result, food was over cooked, over salted, and overpriced.

Duo was an excellent experience I am so happy we gave it a try. It was perfect for a romantic birthday dinner. The service was spot on. The drink menu was full of different selections to meet our taste. The dishes were perfect portions as well. We really enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates for an appetizer! The entrees were just enough leaving us room for an amazing dessert. We cannot wait to go back.

I chose Duo for a business dinner with 3 colleagues. Nice setting, and they honored my Open Table request for a quiet table. I liked our server Molly. However, the rest underwhelmed me. I'm a stickler for details, and the menu wasn't updated with some changes (read on). We all ordered bison, but mine arrived undercooked. Still closer to med-rare than the desired medium upon return; the taste was good but the meat was tough. It left me wishing I had gotten the pork shank (a substitution for lamb shank, as we discovered when Molly corrected the menu error). Our group felt that Duo took themselves too seriously with hard to pronounce ingredients that required explanation...unfortunately, the food left us feeling unsatisfied. Meh, indeed.

While our server was friendly & respectful, she was not very present, and we were having to flag her down several times. After the food came out, there was an issue with mine and she didn't check back in on her own to see how everything was - I had to flag her down. Again, her interactions with us were completely fine, and she was more than willing to make the food 'right', but she just wasn't very available.

First visit to duo. Service was great. Food was better. We had the Pork entree, the duck, and the mussels. All were presented well and delicious. The duck was the best. The wine list was not up to the food. Limited. Pricey. More work on that facet and this place will be hard to get into. Especially loved the repurposed Hobart lamp shades!

Had a great experience here on Saturday night. We enjoyed some great drinks, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. There was nothing about the night that I would change! We started with the corn fritters, shared a tomato cucumber salad, and for dinner we each chose a different meal. I had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly! Others enjoyed the bison, the fried chicken and the pasta. No complaints! It was priced reasonably and we were well taken care of. I can't wait to go back!

If you don't like Duo, then frankly, I don't like you. Duo should be everything anyone is looking for; simple but inventive food focused on local ingredients, a staff that takes the experience of the customer and knowledge of the menu seriously, and an atmosphere that feels like you stumbled on a secret food club. The only knock on Duo is that there happens to be more competition than there used to be for the caliber of resturaunt that it is and it has almost become the elder statesman of farm to table in Denver. This should be no criticism, and in fact they should be credited with helping to create what is growing into a thriving food culture.

We have eaten at Duo's half a dozen times over the years. We had always found the food to be excellent. We hadn't been there in a couple of years because it was so noisy last time we went that we could not comfortably have a conversation. We thought a Monday night would be less noisy but we were wrong. The food was fine but there was nothing that we put in our mouths and went "mmmm." We thought it odd that they were still serving their "summer" menu in October. The service was friendly but not skilled. Skilled service is attentive but not obtrusive. There are so many good restaurants in Highlands that I think we are not likely to return to Duo's.

Definitely a neighborhood gem. All of the locals know it and recommend Duo. Rightly so. The interior brick and big windows are comfortable. Service was pleasant and professional. The salmon w/barley was just right as was an unusual dish; fried chicken and mashed potatoes, LOL. The buttermilk batter was crisp, not greasy and sweet drizzle on the veggies with the creamy mashers made it all a treat.

First time trying this restaurant after seeing it in the top 25 for Denver in 5280 magazine. After having dined at nearly all the other top 25 restaurants I do not believe this restaurant warrants a top 25 nod. The service was VERY poor. I think we saw our server 2 times the whole meal--we had to order thru the hostess, the bus boy, etc. The service for cocktails, food, everything, was painfully slow for a Sunday lunch. The food was good, but not terribly inventive or amazing. Nice food, but nothing memorable.

Everything about Duo exceeded our expectations. The bib lettuce salad was the best I'd ever had and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken was so moist and delicious. We had 2 different appetizers; the scallops and the eggplant. Both had amazing flavor. We all tried a different Entree and shared bites. All were very good. Then there were the desserts that were very yummy. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Never felt rushed. Beautiful atmosphere. Very special evening!!! Can't wait to go back!

I came here for my birthday with 5 friends. We had let the wait staff know that we were celebrating my birthday. It was a week day and the restaurant was not very busy. However, our waiter was not very attentive to our table. We had to wait for a long time after our appetizers were finished for the food to be served. While we were waiting our server was no where to be found. The food was very good once it arrived, but the overall service made the evening unpleasant.

Every time I have been to this restaurant I have been impressed with its food, ambience, and service. The food is locally sourced-which is important to me and is always prepared to perfection. I have never had a bad meal here. It is charming inside as well. It is a smaller restaurant so everyone is close, but it really doesn't seem cramped the way they have it arranged. I think this is a place for small intimate gatherings where you can enjoy good food and good conversations, with delicious food and not having to listen to loud music or raucous behavior like some other places.

Had to try brunch after dinner was such a let down. I will say that at this price point, its a decent brunch & if I lived in the neighborhood I would probably eat here often, but not "drive worthy". You can get this type of stuff pretty much anywhere. Highlights were French Press Coffee & Bacon - highly excellent. Pasty Basket was a pathetic joke - especially since they brag about their award winning pastry chef. One slice of walnut raisin bread & a teeny blueberry muffin? Are you even trying? Also I was grouchy because I saw others having Lemon Ice box cake after we paid. Dessert was the best part of our dinner here & that could have helped redeem them, but not if isn't on the menu or the server doesn't offer it up! Not returning!

We love Duo. We were introduced to this place by our daughter and son-in-law and now it's a favorite of ours. We live in Brighton but like to drive into the city for fun places to eat. The brunch menu is wonderful. You can't go wrong. Great options for every person's taste. We love reading the placemats which are recipes written by little kids. They're fun. The atmosphere is really fun and casual. Our favorite table is right by the front window which allows for some great people watching. Easy to get to off I-25. Call for reservations - it gets busy!
