Everything was good but nothing outstanding. Seating too close to other parties. Really enjoyed the asparagas as the seasonal vegetable. Spice on the halibut overwhelmed taste of fish while coating on perch had little taste so homemade tartat sauce was needed. Lemon shortcake was very good but $8.50 for one piece a bit excessive.

The food was amazing. Best steak I ever had. My fiance had the new pear salad and loved it. She's a vegetarian and there was a lot of great items to chose from. The lemon shortcake was wonderful. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive for us, but with the great food and great service, we will be back.

Stopped in Michigan City on our way to Chicago, looked on Open Table, and this restaurant looked nice. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it seemed to expensive for what it is. Very little ambiance, nothing special menu, food fine but nothing special, pleasant service, no view of anything, just a disappointing experience for the cost. Bread and the lemon cake were delicious.

My husband & I come here quite often it's comfortable & close to our house. They have a nice selection of wines and the food is good. My only suggestion would be to change the menu up from time to time. We have a favorite server Mike. He's a very attentive young man and always makes the experience enjoyable.

Had a very nice dinner at Duneland Beach as we do every year. This year we were able to enjoy the outdoor dining option and it was a great night to do so (also, our last vacation night). Service was excellent and food very good. Will be back again next summer!

My Fiance and I randomly came upon this bed and breakfast, and we are SO glad we did! It was a wonderful, romantic trip. When we told the host (which was actually the owner) that our wedding was in just a few weeks, he had the waitress bring over a bottle of champagne! On top of that he made sure we had a nice private evening by sitting all other diners in different rooms, leaving the front to just us. It was such a nice touch! We felt very special and important. We were very taken back by their kindness and hospitality!

Very few good restaurants in the area, so it's often hard to get a reservation anywhere in prime summer months. Menu offers something for everyone, and there are nightly specials as well as seasonally inspired new items created by the chef. We were greeted upon arrival and taken to a nice table, even though we were an hour early. Didn't factor in the hour time difference from Michigan! Seafood special and Prime Rib on Saturday was a hit, but watch out for split plate charges on appetizers and salads. Hate being charged extra without warning, and portions were tiny. Even charged extra for vegetable substituted for the potato. Not a perfect first time experience, but will try again.

We went to the Duneland Beach Inn for dinner to have their"best fried Chicken". The chicken was heavily breaded and overcooked(very dark like the oil was overused). It certainly was not the best. The coleslaw that came with it was good as were the homemade chips. However, the dining room was lovely, the service was very good, and I would go there again and try something else on the menu. We had breakfast there a couple of times and that was great. Their outdoor terrace is a lovely spot. I guess anyone can have a bad night.

I have to admit that our experience there on Friday June 13th was very bad. It was my fiance's birthday and there were 4 of us there. It took 15 minutes for anybody to come to our table to even say hello or get our drink orders. We then received our appetizers before we even got our drinks. We then did not get our 2nd round of drinks until we were half way through our dinner. Our party let the waitress and hostess know it was a birthday and not once did we get a happy birthday or a piece of cake or dessert. We have come to the restaurant for many years as we have 3 houses in the area and this experience may have been out last coming. It was not excessively busy nor were we demanding as we were simply trying to enjoy a special evening.

enjoyable experience, beautifully rehab building and resturant, 1st class chicago in michigan city, only negative was that the closeiness of the tables included you in other diners personal and casual conversations. found out too much about the three some at the next table. dont think you can do anything about that but hope for bettery hearing aids. let me recommend the watermelon salad, outstanding. light and tastee. the canadain perch were execellent just remember it not quanity its tastee.

I made a reservation five days before our Friday night dinner at 7 pm. When we walked in, the hostess could not find our reservation because the computer system had just crashed. She seated the four of us at a table anyway, and we got water and bread. But no one came to take drink orders or wait on us for 15 minutes. I finally went to the hostess and asked whether someone would come to our table. She rushed off to find a server; we were eventually served competently. The other weird thing is that the lights kept flickering.

I specifically requested a romantic table for our 3 year anniversary and they sat us directly Infront of the kitchen door. The food was terrible, the lake perch was so greasy and oily I couldn't eat it. It tasted like burnt oil. The steak was so hard to chew it was like leather. Not only did they not care to treat our anniversary like it mattered. The food was terrible, and we had to listen to the kitchen during our entire meal. The "romantic" table we were given had dead flowers in the vase. Although the server was polite, he was not accommodating or attentive to us. I am furious with the whole experience and will never go here again, let alone reccomend it to any friends!
