Dunaway's Palazzo OssigenoWe had an early Thursday dinnerWe had an early Thursday dinner reservation due to a theatre engagement later that night, so when we arrived we were the only diners present -- only a few people at the bar. It was raining hard which surely discouraged some folks, and we were told due to the awful thunderstorms a large private party canceled. All this meant that we had our waiter's undivided attention, and likely the chef's too! Neither disappointed. My martini was perfect as was our Malbec. Every course was excellent as was the service. food was just ok. It was incredibly expensive for the area and for what you get. Pork was dry and bland, they were out of multiple menu items despite clearly not having a busy Friday. There are several restaurants on Mass Ave that can rival the ambiance, blow the food out of the water, and are far less expensive. I feel that management has not updated in a long time, and I feel confident the chef is probably stifled and bored as a result., And it shows. The only caveat is that they are known for their steak, and neither myself nor my companion had one, so that may be the seventh wonder of the world.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
