We booked our ninth wedding anniversary dinner here. We hosted our wedding reception here in November 2005. Not much has changed, which is not a bad thing. Food and service is still excellent. The restaurant still has the same rustic and historic charm that it did back then. The perfect place to spend a cozy, romantic dinner!

Mixed feelings about this place. The restaurant and bar have a charming English country inn feel. Unfortunately there were many missteps with the food and service. A bright spot was the curry Python appetizer. Yup, snake, perfectly braised, well balanced flavors, although rice was overcooked. Fresh oysters were also excellent. And then one of the specials of the evening -- the Hawaiian Opah -- nothing on the plate made sense. The fish had a mushy texture, the sauce (red wine/balsamic?) was aggressively seasoned and overly reduced, the sweet potato fries were cold and burnt, and the "vegetable" on the plate was raw cabbage. Huh? According to the menu prices this is supposed to be a fine-dining restaurant. Our server was new and she was sweet, but utterly clueless. She clearly was not trained well. I was pairing wine with each course, and waited so long (15 min) for the wine, my appetizer was cold -- finally went to the bar and grabbed the glass myself. To their credit, they offered that glass on the house. If you frequent real fine dining restaurants (NYC, Las Vegas, San Francisco) you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a special occasion restaurant and are more interested in decor than food, you certainly can find something edible on the menu (like the Wiener Schnitzel). Would we go back? Not for a meal. But I would stop into the bar for a cocktail, exotic appetizer and listen to the live music.

We had dined at Duling Kurtz House 20 years ago and vowed not to return. Back then, the prices were high, the service was poor and the food was just mediocre. Recently, however, we were invited to join friends who wanted to dine there. What a difference! The atmosphere is still charming, the food was excellent and the service was much better. I can handle the high prices if the quality of food, ambiance and service are high as well.

It had probably been about 20 years since we last dined at DK House. It had lost none of its excellence. Elegant atmosphere, and great service were still in effect. We enjoyed the escargots and classic mushroom soup (the latter a "special") as well as the Caesar salad, prepared table side. My rack of lamb was plentiful and prepared perfectly, as was my wife's chicken. Wines by the glass and bottle were both well priced and with a nice selection available. Despite its distance from our house (about a 45 minute ride), we will be back a lot sooner next time.

We went to Duling-Kurtz on our 2 year anniversary (of dating) and were pleasantly welcomed by the maitre de. She recognized me and proceeded to take us to the room where I had requested, the Hunt Room, table 32. Then, our server from last time, Amy, came running in and was so excited to see that we had returned. She let us have a nice relaxing evening and we enjoyed the lobster crepes and short ribs. We couldn't change from last time. Then I had to try the gingerbread cheesecake with pumpkin gelato. SO YUMMY!!!!

This was a real disappointment. A beautiful location and restaurant but everything inside disappoints. The reception was cold and unwelcoming. Service was poor, unattentive and infrequent. We waited so long for the server to return after presenting dessert menus that we decided to skip that course. The noise from the bar area pours into the main dining room ruining the experience there. Food was mediocre at best with garlic and other flavors overpowering selections that should be excellent from a nicely varied, classic menu. We won't go again.

We live not-too-far away and talked for a while about going here. Finally did so on a bit of a lark and glad we did. The actual buildings are a bit of a surprise as the curb appeal from the main road leading in is limited. But, once you go around 'front' you're greeted by a beautiful pair of old buildings, a nice courtyard that appears to have outdoor dining (presumably on warmer nights), and a welcoming entrance (though not handicapped friendly-an alternative entrance is available tho.) Service was impeccable and the food hit the spot. I embraced the Austrian side while my wife had the surf and turf that surpassed the flavor of virtually all predecessors. The gaspacho was a bit spicy, but otherwise not a complaint to be offered.

Celebrated our Wedding Anniversary last Saturday and enjoyed every moment of the dining experience. Delicious and well prepared Lobster Crepes served with whipped potatoes and fresh asparagus. Alberto, our server, was very attentive and made us feel very special indeed. Wonderful desserts we had were Cappuccino Ice Cream Truffle and Blood Orange Mascarpone Mousse. Very relaxed atmosphere and intimate dining!

We went there for the second time this year. First for Valentine's Day and the second for our 32nd Anniversary. The setting is very nice and very romantic. Valentine's Day was great, perfect food, great waitress, everything was timed perfectly; hence the reason for the second visit. For our Anniversary upon first pulling in, you do notice that the exterior is in need of fixing up. Vines overgrownig the shrubs, steps are broken and falling to pieces. It was not a good start. We ordered the Aligator and Escargot appetizers. Both were unassuming and somewhat blah. The veal and lamb rack were both outstanding, but the veal came out more medium and not medium rare. Doesn't quite rate 5 stars across the board, but we will not give up.

The Duling Kurtz House is a wonderful 1800's Home that is now an Inn with 15 rooms and a most wonderful restaurant. Charm, history and very good food mark what this restaurant is all about. It was a quiet Wednesday night, with only three or four tables of people. Food, including the Venison (a special that night), and the Mushroom soup, were both excellent. I'd only suggest that they broaden the selection of wines available - with the prevalence of BYOB's in Pennsylvania, one gets used to being able to have any imaginable wine with dinner.

Made my reservation for a Friday night via Open Table. Requested a quiet table since they have musicians on Fridays (very nice and performers played music that was appropriate for the venue). We were seated in a back room where you really could not hear the musicians and had the room to ourselves. Service was outstanding and our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and helpful with his recommendations. Food was outstanding, portions were generous, and the menu of choices and specials made selecting meal choices difficult - a good problem. Very enjoyable meal.

Two people in our party of four ordered camel and it was tough and chewy. They should take this item off of the menu immediately! The mushroom soup was not hot but delicious. The ceviche was one of the best I've ever tasted. The crab cakes were good, but the menu description did not indicate that they would be breaded. Our waiter was courteous and efficient and the setting was lovely. We thought that it would be quieter and romantic sitting on the porch but there were people with cell phones taking pictures and being loud which made it difficult to have a conversation.

We have had mixed experiences at Duling Kurtz and this dinner was one of the better ones. There were few diners on this Tuesday evening. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. My husband ordered his favorite meal here, wiener schnitzel, and I had the fish special, perch. Both meals were delicious. We also loved the mushroom soup. Service was impeccable as always and although it was raining, we were happy to be seated at a window looking out onto the lovely garden landscape. The only reason I didn't rate this experience with five stars is that my husband's whiskey sour wasn't very tasty. The regular bar tender did not prepare it though so I wouldn't lay the blame there. I, however, was treated to jalalpeno stuffed olives in my drink.
