  • "Everything about this restaurant was perfect. We were greeted by an enthusiastic host who told us the history of the building. Our server, Scott, was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was amazing, alligator for an appetizer, Cauliflower & Fig Salad, Lobster Crepes and Blood Orange Mascarpone Mousse all were exceptional."

  • "Our recent meal was just wonderful! The lamb shank just melted off the bone, the mussels were tender and flavorful, and the pork chop was tender and juicy. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming and the service impeccable. All in all, a delightful evening!"

  • "Excellent as always. Varied menu (duck, Wiener schnitzel, lamb, pheasant, . . . ) alomg with a good wine list and excellent service."

  • "It was a quiet Wednesday night, with only three or four tables of people. Food, including the Venison (a special that night), and the Mushroom soup, were both excellent. I'd only suggest that they broaden the selection of wines available - with the prevalence of BYOB's in Pennsylvania, one gets used to being able to have any imaginable wine with dinner."

  • "Overall lovely dining experience. Waiter was attentive but not intrusive, food was delicious and beautifully presented. You could actually have a conversation. So many places are much too noisy. Romantic historic setting with beautiful gardens."

  • "Made my reservation for a Friday night via Open Table. Requested a quiet table since they have musicians on Fridays (very nice and performers played music that was appropriate for the venue). We were seated in a back room where you really could not hear the musicians and had the room to ourselves. Service was outstanding and our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and helpful with his recommendations. Food was outstanding, portions were generous, and the menu of choices and specials made selecting meal choices difficult - a good problem. Very enjoyable meal."

  • "Two people in our party of four ordered camel and it was tough and chewy. They should take this item off of the menu immediately! The mushroom soup was not hot but delicious. The ceviche was one of the best I've ever tasted. The crab cakes were good, but the menu description did not indicate that they would be breaded. Our waiter was courteous and efficient and the setting was lovely. We thought that it would be quieter and romantic sitting on the porch but there were people with cell phones taking pictures and being loud which made it difficult to have a conversation."

  • " I recently celebrated a friend's 80th birthday there. Michael, the manager, seated us in our own room with a lovely view of the garden. The lobster crepes were delicious!!!! June, our attentive waitress, even brought the birthday girl a dessert with a lit candles. What a memorable celebratory lunch."

  • "Amazing food! Amazing Staff! Amazing ambiance! Can't saying amazing enough. Can't wait to go back again. You have to go there to really appreciate the amazing-ness of the entire package you get. I can't find words to describe how everything seemed like it was a starry night. Plus we were sitting next to the window by the creek and a deer walk up. Couldn't ask for anything more."

  • "We have had mixed experiences at Duling Kurtz and this dinner was one of the better ones. There were few diners on this Tuesday evening. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. My husband ordered his favorite meal here, wiener schnitzel, and I had the fish special, perch. Both meals were delicious. We also loved the mushroom soup. Service was impeccable as always and although it was raining, we were happy to be seated at a window looking out onto the lovely garden landscape. The only reason I didn't rate this experience with five stars is that my husband's whiskey sour wasn't very tasty. The regular bar tender did not prepare it though so I wouldn't lay the blame there. I, however, was treated to jalalpeno stuffed olives in my drink."

  • "We returned for another visit to celebrate a birthday. and were treated to some terrific menu options and fabulous service. There is something about the charming atmosphere of the old house that lets you sit down and really enjoy a quiet evening with friends and good food. Not cheap, but not there are not many places like it in Chester County."

  • "The Duling Kurtz house is a gem! Outstanding service and atmosphere! The menu can be most unusual but there are also the "normal" choices. Variety of choices is excellent! I highly recommend Duling Kurtz for a Saturday night out or special occasion to all."

  • "We had a great Mother's Day dinner and we had a lovely table on the covered porch. We took my mother-in-law with us and she was very pleased with everything about the restaurant. It was the perfect ending to a great day. "

  • "The food and service at Duling Kurtz are excellent, and the setting is lovely. It's a great choice for a special occasion. Please be advised the salads and desserts are higher in price than those at most comparable restaurants."

  • "Lunch menu selection had plenty of good options (most priced above $25). The oven roasted shrimp and scallops over herb risotto was very good. So was the prime rib and crab cake meals. Service was attentive with socially oriented waiting staff. While our view was very nice on the upper floor in a sun room, the décor appeared to need some paint and clean windows. This constructive point did not, however, diminish a very nice Easter lunch with family."

  • "My husband and I had a lovely date night at Duling Kurtz House! We both enjoyed our food, the service was superb, and the live piano music and singing was wonderful. I had the onion soup and lobster crepes. My husband had the baked brie and wiener schnitzel. Everything was beautifully presented, and very good. The popovers with lemon curd that are brought out at the beginning are simply amazing. Our waiter was young, knowledgeable of the menu, and very attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful. I can't say enough good things. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Four of us dined at the Duling Kurtz all taking the Prix Fixe menu available from Sunday-Thursday. The arugula beet salad as a starter, had by three of us, was exceptional with fresh greens and ample beets. Two of us had the fish main course and two the Wiener schnitzel. All were well presented and excellent. Deserts also did not disappoint. This was a really great dining experience in a well appointed dining room."

  • "I had a really enjoyable meal as did my guest. It started with appetizers. We had their escargot in a puffed pastry and a blackened scallop dish. Both were outstanding, though the escargot was extremely hot. The Ceasar salad prepared table side was very nice. I had a special entree that was fantastic. It was elk with prepared with an mango apple chutney and surrounded by assorted sauteed vegetables. It was delightful and not the least bit gamey. My guest had the rack of lamp and he raved about it. The wine selection was impressive and the lemoncello dessert was the perfect finish. VERY expense but I'm not complaining - it was great food, great service, great atmosphere."

  • "This restaurant is amazing, because it offers different menu items than usually seen on the Mainline. We are so tired of the traditional fish or steak options and were very happy with the Wiener schnitzel and Spaetzel."

  • "We went to Duling-Kurtz to celebrate a belated Valentine's Day dinner. This was our second time dining there and I had asked to be in the Hunt Room. Not only did we get that room, but we got the same table we sat at our first time. The server we had was in a different room so we had Amy. She was phenomenal. Very energetic and a great addition to our date. The food was amazing. My boyfriend, who doesn't experiment with new food often, tried the short ribs and was blown away by them. I stuck with my favorite dish, the lobster crepes. Before we left, I made sure that the maitre de knew how impressed we were with Amy and we also got to see Ken who served us last time. He remembered us. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants!!!"

  • "My wife and I had Valentines Day reservations for 8:30pm and arrived 20 minutes early. There was really no where to park and no salt on the sheet of ice covering the lot. Once inside, we checked in at the hostess stand, but she didn't seem to have a list other than writing our names down after we told her our reservation. We then waited at the bar for an hour and twenty five minutes. The bartender was overwhelmed on his own. The house was packed and there were lots of people obviously in the same situation as us. Every time we asked where we were on the list and the wait time the hostess didn't know and was completely flummoxed. We left at 9:35, went to Vickers, were sat immediately and had a beautiful evening. Thank goodness for Vickers!"

  • "Wow. Where to start?? This place was so overbooked. It was Valentine's Day and looking forward to a pleasant meal and night with my wife. We had 7:30 a reservation. The first issue was parking. There was no parking and I had to park across the street. Crossing a icy highway. The second issue was when we walked in and there was a large crowd of people waiting for the hostess. It was Chaos. I spoke to some couples and they were running 45-50 mins behind their reservation time. As I mentioned, we had 7:30 reservations and we were 17 tables down on the list to be seated!!! So you think, hey go to a bar for a drink and wait? No way. We waited at the bar for 20 mins and could not even get a drink. Only one bartender to serve about 50 people!."

  • "Visited DK on Valentine's Day, so I will cut them some slack on the over 1 hour wait for our 7PM Reservation. Moving on to the food, everything was excellent. I got Lobster & Filet combo and my girlfriend got The Crab cake and Lobster combo. Both were cooked perfectly, her's welldone, mine medium-rare. The tuna sashimi appetizer with wasabi was mouth melting tender, Service from Ken was attentive and fun. However, the Valentine's desert, touted as vanilla ice cream and chocolate gellato in a hard chocolate shell. was pure liguid, flowing out on the plate as soon the shell was cracked. This was either wrong, or I was misinformed as to the nature of the desert. I commented about it to Ken, but there was nothing offered in return."

  • "Have loved this restaurant in he past but this time the service was extremely slow and I had to send my food back 3 times because it wasn't cooked right.!. I will chalk it up to being Valentines Day and they were very busy. I will try it agin on a not so busy day."

  • "For the important Valentines Day it appeared they were greatly short staff in the kitchen. It took almost 30 minutes once the order was placed for the salad to be delivered followed by a very long wait until the entre appeared. The entres were delivered very hot, so the wait staff was not the issue. We skipped desert since we observed a table near us waited in excess of 30 minutes for theirs to be delivered. The recent snow storm (15-18") could have created their being short-handed which was a shame since they were filled to capacity. We will return, hopefully at a time they are properly staffed."
