Like the host pulling out the very tight table so that I can get in to sit. I had to squeeze through two tables while bumping into the other. He did that for the table next to me. Also, why was everyone else's bread served in a nice basket but ours on a plate. I could have made a stink about it but i didn't. Otherwise food was good. It was my husband's birthday and I thought it could have been better. I hate prix fixe menus for holidays but their Mother's Day menu was terrific. Plenty of good choices and portions were plenty. Food really top notch and the service was friendly and unobtrusive. Granted, I am not an expert, but I have ordered wines for years and feel reasonably comfortable doing so. I only recognized one wine on the list, a pinot noir - and the server wasn't any help in this regard. Also, the wines by the glass were very expensive even compared with pricing at other higher priced restaurants in the area.
The server didn't seem to like our ordering without using the pretentious Italian designation - this was a change from previous visits, as the decor and the menu had been redone.
Even with the negatives and the fact that we were placed at a table where 2 of us were just staring at a blank white wall, I would go back because the food is absolutely wonderful.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food! Noise levels high, tough to hear at times, but a real gem.

The service was excellent and staff was very friendly. We selected the pri-fixe menu, which ran $55/person and included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. All 3 courses I chose (calamari, salmon, chocolate cake w/coffee ice cream) were flavorful and well cooked. There were a variety of cocktails to choose from as well as, an extensive wine and beer list. Our server who started with us had to leave in the middle of our dinner and came over to tell us and introduce us to the new server. I was impressed and thought that was very nice that he did that. I feel like our server could have been a little more knowledgeable about the menu, but in his defense, he did always go ask and get back to us. The food is always outstanding, and this was certainly the case on Friday night. The updated menu had a wonderful new pasta with crab that was perfectly delicious. The atmoshere is great for discussion and there are a variety of seating arrangements ( booth, tables,open to the room and more private)
The wine list is good. The service has the right idea,friendly and energetic, but always seems to lack a little coordination between the team members. But that can be fixed and it is a quibble, not a huge problem. This is where I want to go more than any other place in town and the town has a few other excellent chouices.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Service!I was quite impressed with the level of service received at Due Mari. My friend and I had not seen each other in a while so we were spending time catching up. The waiter noticed we were holding onto our menus and asked if we wanted to wait before reviewing them and ordering. He took our menus away and left us feeling relaxed with no pressure to order our meals. We spent three hours at Du Mari. Our meals were excellent and so was the wine.
