Diner Reviews
  • "We were in from out-of-town and needed a restaurant within walking distance of a downtown theater. We found Due Amici simply by looking on-line and checking a couple of reviews. The food was outstanding and resonably priced. The interior is beautifully done, and gives one the impression of being in a "real" urban city. I would recommend Due Amici to anyone!"

  • "I enjoyed my birthday dinner so much, the service was outstanding. She helped me make a wine selection. She explained what was in the food. It was overall a great experience. I will be telling all my friends and family to go there."

  • "We had a wonderful experience at Due Amici last Saturday before a show. The food was wonderful and the service excellent."

  • "We often go to Due Amici before any show in the area. We always as with this trip guaranteed amazing food and drink, great service knowing we can get to the show on time. We went this past Friday night before the Rain Concert at The Palace, they had Beatles music playing which helped you get on the mood for the concert itself...."

  • "Due is a solid option for a professional or business lunch downtown. Service is generally prompt and unobtrusive, though some tables are very close together, which may make discussing certain topics difficult. On this visit, my co-worker had a salad (forget which) that was very well portioned for lunch. I had a Caesar and a Ravioli special, both of which were good. The ravioli special did need more ravioli to compliment all the other ingredients."

  • "We went for brunch and the atmosphere and service were great. The exposed brick interior is a really nice break from most stale restaurant decors. The entrees were OK, and would have been better if they weren't so starch heavy. For example, the salmon cake eggs benedict was already on thick English muffins and supplemented with a lot of roasted potatoes, but no fruit or other vegetables were present. The real draw is the bloody mary cart, which brings at-the-table customization to your beverage."

  • "Over Priced and small plate sizes. The food was average. I will not be going back."

  • "I went to brunch on Sunday 3/30 with a friend for her birthday. Once we got sat they immediately gave us ice waters. This was the best part of the entire brunch. After 20 mintues of waiting on a server, I finally had to flag someone down. It took another 15 mintues to get our mimosa. The food had potential to be very good if it wasn't cold when it was brought to the table. Our server was awful and forgot about our table multiple times. I don't think I would ever go back."

  • "Waitress was attentive and provided great service. Food was supurb. Will continue to use Due Amici's for special group meals."

  • "This is a real restaurant, not an appleby's. There will be several courses, ordered one at a time. It will take a little while to prepare good food from scratch. The waitstaff will leave you alone to enjoy you food & dinner conversation. Turn off the phone and enjoy it. This is how dining out should be."

  • "This was a great restaurant, very convenient for where we were staying and accommodating to our change in reservations. The Porcini Tortelloni (my choice was fabulous. Every one had a great dinner!"

  • "The food was good, but they were out of several of the selections and my reservation was early evening, 6:00. Surprising, since this restaurant is usually better than this."

  • "Trying to find a good downtown restaurant open on Sunday evening was a challenge. We tried Due Amici and had a very good dinner and evening. We found our meals equal or better than our favorite restaurant in our hometown."

  • "We have a nice dinner our salads came quickly but we had a long wait for the entrée and they were not full so better allow plenty of time."

  • "Food was overpriced - meal was ok, expected more flavor for the price. Wine and dessert was delicious though!"

  • "We have been here several times send each time it has declined. The server lacked knowledge on the dishes, the chef did not even know his evening (Saturday night!) specials until 5:15. Apps were cold and just plain cheap. Main dishes were barely luke warm. We even tried dessert and it fell short. No management came to check on us. Do yourself a favor a go elsewhere, as we will from now on! Get it together Due Amici!"

  • "We have been to Due Amici for multiple meals and occasions (brunch, dinner, rehearsal dinner) and are always pleased with the food. The service is great, the cocktail menu is diverse and innovative. The food and presentation always impressive. It's a great place for a group to get a good meal, and also a great date night destination. And the eggs benedict at brunch? Delicious!"

  • "This is the second time here with my girlfriend. The food is very good and the service was excellent. Tables in the dining area are a little close together, the bathrooms are located in the basement which is reminiscent of a WWII bomb shelter, but were clean. Floors are uneven where we sat, but all of this is part of the overall experience. We'll be back again"

  • "met here with 2 other friends for a nice dinner. Food was good. While the service was OK, the wait for the food seemed a bit too long. But overall the food and night was good."

  • "We have been to Due Amici many times and have always experienced great service- this time was completely different. First, we waited forty five minutes for our reservation. When we were seated, it was at a different table than promised. Next, the bread served was burnt to the point where it was black. When we asked for un-burnt bread the server acted disgruntled and said she would but that it would take awhile. When we got the second loaf it was uncooked in the middle. The rest of our food was good."

  • "We arrived at 6:20. Our soups and salads didn't arrive until around 6:50, which were comped by our server. At 7:30 we were still waiting on our entrees. We had a show to see and had to leave at that time. So our pre-show dinner consisted of side items. Very disappointed."

  • "We went for a pre-concert dinner and the service was outstanding--efficient without rushing us. We had a cheese plate with great local cheeses and house made fig jam. Two of us tried the pizzas which were delicious and one lucky diner ordered the special--pan seared walleye on a bed of fiddle head fern shoots. The fish was prepared perfectly and the unusual pairing with the fern hit just the right notes. Dessert was the best tiramisu we've ever tasted. We will be back!"

  • "Due Amici was good but there are some little things that just weren't quite right. One person at the table's entre order was not out in so their food came out twenty minutes after the rest of the group. Also, when we ordered coffee we were told they don't have an espresso machine so no espresso/cappuccino/espresso based cocktails. Isn't this an Italian restaurant?"

  • "I live in Los Angeles and travel frequently to Columbus on business. Due Amici is always a mandatory restaurant for me to dine when I am in town. The food is delicious, the service impeccable and the ambiance is low key. Definitely a favorite of mine!"

  • "I took a business colleague there who was staying at the Sheraton. Due Amici seemed like a nice little gem that reminds me of a hip place in New York. That's where the similarities start to fade. Food: was OK. Our appetizer (calamari) was obviously made incorrectly, as it was so salty it could was not edible. The salads were above average with very fresh greens, but the dressings were very salty. The two pizzas we ordered were above average but nothing to remember. Service: Servers were polite and fun, but definitely not professional wait staff. I’ll go back, but probably won’t take a business colleague there for dinner again."

  • "Let me start by saying that I've dined at Due Amici a number of times over the years an have always had an amazing experience. The food is very good, the wait staff is friendly, great ambiance, etc. Two people in my party at requested substitutions- one for shrimp only in the cioppino, and the other in place of sausage. When the requests were made, the server told us that it would be no problem. Fast forward to when we received the bill, and noticed that we were charged an extra $22 for SHRIMP. When we asked, we were told this was correct. This was a SUBSTITUTION, not an addition, and we were not informed of the upcharge in advance. $22 for a shrimp substitution is outrageous. My recommendation- enjoy the food ONLY AS PRINTED!"

  • "Provided a great Valentines date for me and my beautiful wife. Highly recommend the mango moscato, was awesome, and all the food, salad, and appetizers were great! The service was not terrible but it took a while to get our main entree and our drinks were empty for a bit of time before they were refilled. Other then that it was a great experience."

  • "We went with a group of 10 for brunch after a friends bachelorette party and were all not feeling our best. The service was a little slow, and the waitress didn't refill waters or beverages frequently enough. They had a great brunch deal though $15 for an entree and breakfast cocktail, and they come around with a bar car to make your drink. Very cute place but definitely needed some help with the service."

  • "Service friendly and reasonably efficient. Ambiance lovely. Location convenient to downtown events. The steak wasn't of the highest quality and cooked a little under where we ordered it-- not worth the price we paid."

  • "Valentine's Day dinner was not that great due to slow service. 7:30p reservations for two - did not leave until around 10:00p. Server walked past our table several times and blatently ignored us. We chose not to get dessert because we didn't want to be there for another hour. Food was decent, but poor service left us with a bad taste in our mouths."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We started with a cheese plate, which had three options with fresh fruit and crackers as accompaniment. Our salads that followed were dressed judiciously, which allowed the flavors to shine through. My only complaint with the evening came through with dinner -- I ordered Chicken Parmesan. The spaghetti sauce and breaded chicken both had too little flavor, making the dish somewhat bland. My wife enjoyed her Diavolo pasta dish, though the sauce was again very subtle and the sausage was hit or miss. Desserts were a positive: I had the S'more while my wife had the cream puff special. Both were excellent and great portions. Service was prompt and attentive, and prices were reasonable for all dishes. Overall, a good experience."

  • "Six of us had a delicious Valentines Day dinner. We ordered several appetizers including calamari, a cheese plate and gaspatcho. Each was delicious, although I am not a calamari fan. I thought the cheese plate was a bit skimpy on cheese. We had filets and chicken saltimboca. The filet was tender and well-cooked. My saltimboca was quite good, and it is the second time I've had it here. We also had salads. Good mixture of fresh greens and a delicious dressing. Finally, a word about our service. From the moment we came in, we were treated warmly and our server Allie was outstanding. She even remembered talking to me about our reservation. This is the second, but not last, Valentines Day we have celebrated there."
