Dudley's on Short
Dudley's on Short: Long on DiningSimply outstanding Bluegrass dining experience at Dudley's on Short upscale in a classic way. It is.
The service, food, and ambiance were equally outstanding. You just can't find a "Golden Horseshoe" shrimp cocktail reminiscent of old Lexington. Diners are ladies and gentlemen and appear dressed the part with few exceptions (shorts and T-shirts: go to Arby's!)
An easy Five-Star rating.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWifeySusanI love the elegant, relaxed feel of Dudley's on Short. This is always a stop on my frequent visits to the area. The food is inventive as well as excellent. Enjoyed a duck dish while my companion ordered salmon. The food was served at the perfect temperature, delicious and artfully presented. This was a first visit for my dining companion and immediately made it on their list of places to visit when in town.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, Wonderful ServiceHad dinner at Dudley's and was impressed by the quality of the service and attention to detail. The Wilted Brussel sprout salad was tasty, but overly salted. If salt is an issue for you, I'd request the chef to tone it down. The short plates were prety sizable and coudl serve as an entree as they did for tow in our group. Fried shrimp and grits and the Paella were excellent. The Wreck fish special was cooked perfectly and the barley risotto an interesting change. The seared scallops were less than perfect, slightly undercooked, but very tasty.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Service-Friendly StaffSaturday evening I meet with friends and enjoyed a relaxing, delicious meal. The staff is friendly, the best bar tender and wait staff in Lexington. Debbie joined the conversation with our group; she always makes you feel very welcome.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this place! We had a wonderful meal at Dudley's. Not only was our server Steve knowledgeable and helpful, he did a great job of supplying our needs without being obtrusive. Must be a mind reader! The warm brussel sprout salad is delicious (I urge you to try it even if you don't think you like brussel sprouts). The lamp chops are 2 double cut chops and were perfectly cooked. The 'small plate' paella is a perfect portion for most diners as an entree and is loaded with flavor.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNoisy but not to be missedWe visited Dudley's for the first time on this trip to Lexington. It will be permanently placed on the "must go" list from now on. This restaurant is GReat! Only draw back is it is very noisy but the food makes up for it.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. AGreat food and service. A go-to place for business lunches.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. AGreat food and service. Several friends sat near us or passed by our table (not by design but by chance--a suggestion about the places popularity).4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA must see!Waiter was a bit "over the top", food was yummy. The owner is amazing and made us feel like VIP's. The Building and ambiance are stunning! Next time we will definitely eat up on the roof! Our waiter was very knowledgeable, but pretentious...would have been more fun without him!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHad another great meal atHad another great meal at Dudley's! They always have wonderful specials there. I hardly even look at the menu until I hear what the specials of the day are. We were remarking how we were questioning their decision to move the restaurant to downtown Lex. However, the new restaurant is done so well, it was clearly the right move! We will be back soon.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDebbie Long and her staffDebbie Long and her staff go out of their way to make your dining experience a quality evening. The meal is always cooked to perfection and the service is above board.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Again!Dudley's continues to impress. This meal was wonderful, service was lovely, and the setting is pretty. The entree specials were impressive. We were dining at Dudley's for our anniversary and the manager came over to say hello and wish us a happy anniversary. Such a lovely and friendly establishment. Dudley's is (in my opinion) the finest restaurant in Lexington.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite downtownOne of our favorite downtown spots! Great for a nice meal out or a special occasion without being overly pretentious. I recommend the wilted brussels sprout salad with any meal!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed the food,We really enjoyed the food, with the slow roasted lamb being a standout. I really enjoyed the warm Brussels sprout salad with pine nuts, and family members loved the scallops. A definite place to return to the next time we are in town!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food ! He was very professional, had good recommendations and was just attentive enough-3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinnerWe went to Lexington to take our daughter out for her 21st birthday. It was also a celebration of our 31st aniversary. This we noted on the open table reservation. The service for this dinner was outstanding. From the great service by the water and bread girls to expert service by Bradley, we enjoyed a wonderful meal. The food was very good and it was just a positive experience. When we were finished we asked for our bill. Bradley asked us to hold on for a few minutes, that he had gotten very busy. As we were enjoying ourselfs, we waited. A couple minutes later Bradley returned with an outstanding piece of cheesecake for the birthday girl and and equally delicious chocolate torte for us. We never said anything to remind them!SUPER2/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
