Drawing upon regional ingredients is a superior way to eat and one can taste the freshness in Chef de Cuisine Dustin Valette's Dry Creek Kitchen specialties. You can also experience the regional abundance in the six-course, wine-trail tasting menu, featuring "neighborhood" food and wine pairings.
Dry Creek Kitchen's wine cellar reflects the area's celebrated appellations, featuring more than 600 Sonoma wines with vintages ranging from 1985 to 2007 and a particular emphasis on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Meritage Blends.
Charlie Palmer's long standing commitment to wine manifests itself in his one-of-kind-collection drawing from the private libraries and cellars of the area's winemakers.

  • "Their specialty drinks are very good - the burnt orange Manhattan was quite tasty and interesting to watch as it was being made.The Blackberry Mojito was really really good and included some HUGE berries.The amuse was excellent and included an often overlooked vegetable -kohlrabi.The scallop appetizer was great and pastry was a nice touch.The tomatoes in the Caprese style salad were absolutely scrumptious.The halibut special was cooked perfectly as was the lamb.The desserts - especially the peanut butter and chocolate were sooooooo good.Great job!"

  • "Seated immediately with reservation. Lovely table at floor to ceiling windows on sidewalk...opened with summer breeze. Offered purse hook immediately (love it). Love that there is no corkage on Sonoma County wines and always bring my own (we're local). Always order the Scallop En Croute as an app and never disappointed. I was too full for a desert but wanted something more for the finale, asked the waiter if they had vanilla ice cream - had something close enough - I asked if they would make me an affogato and presto! Perfect ending to a lovely dinner and evening. (GM Drew is a serene and thoughtful addition and has been at the restaurant 9+ years (that always says something doesn't it?))."

  • "Oh, it was memorable, but not how you would think. Our visit to Dry Creek Kitchen was absurd. 50% of the menu was either substituted or out. As we say in the restaurant business, 86'd. Cannot believe that no one on staff could not find halibut, bass or lamb in all of Healdsburg to stock an otherwise under ordered chef's kitchen. We were told- "We would rather run out than have extra." Totally absurd, as it says we care more about numbers than our guests. We finished our champagne, paid our bill, and left. We won't be back."

  • "Food fabulous! Servers seemed gracious, but we were seated over an hour when our salads were brought (only after we inquired about when to expect our food). We told them early-on that we were going to a theater performance. When we told the manager that we hadn't been served and had been there for an hour, he appeared to be shocked. Our salads came about 20 minutes before we had to leave. The wait person said the manager would comp us a special dessert. However, we refused and also told her we didn't have time. The manager brought the check and said he removed charges for everything except the main courses. These were nice gestures and appreciated; however, the overall experience left us wanting. We would probably not return."

However, the food simply did not measure up to what we were anticipating given the price we were paying and the reputation of the restaurant. Most dishes were over salted, and we love salt. The dishes were far from inspired, pedestrian at best. Service was fine, not exceptional, however, at the end of the dinner, while there were many other tables open, they seated the drunk real estate group right next to our table. We were paying a significant price for what is supposed to be a special dinner and they put the freaking loud drunk loser table right next to us? Disappointing, at best."

He apologized and later offered to buy a glass of wine, but only after I ordered another glass because our bottle was empty. The reason our bottle was empty is because we waited almost an hour for 2 appetizers!"

The service was very attentive and sommelier knowledgeable. The wine list has an extensive selection of sonoma valley wines. The food was quite good, some dishes were exceptional while others were just ok. Overall, nice dining experience in Healdsburg. A bit less charming than some of the smaller restaurants in the area, but definitely nice if you want a more traditional dining room."

  • "My husband and I went there for lunch. They allow you to bring a bottle of wine in with little or no fee. I think it's no fee. Food was amazing except they cooked my husband's pork well done when he asked for medium rare. The server immediately took it back when we pointed it out and brought out a new one later. The manager gave us two complimentary glasses of red wine to try with the pork without us asking for anything. The food was amazing, the ambiance perfect (we sat outside on the patio and watched the people in the square) and service was just awesome. They take pride in their work there and you can see it."

  • "had the chef tasting lunch menu, food is good but not exceptional, the low point is its wine pairing, champagne (or better call it sparkling wine) is flat and not crispy at all, the chardonnay has no favor at all (maybe it was an overnight cheap bottle), save it a bit is the pinot noir served with the main course that still has a bit of complexity, I don't expect much for an additional $26 for wine pairing, but at least it should be better than this..."

  • "We booked through Open Table and listed that our reservation was for a birthday and retirement. Upon check in reminded hostess about special event. Our food was ok, polenta hard and salty, like a salt lick. Scallop appetizer good. Lamb ok, brocollini, limp and tough. Waiter continually made negative remarks about the wine we brought in. As the night progressed we asked for outdoor heaters to be turned on, oh by the way never a mention of the birthday or retirement…service was poor, food so,so we waited and waited for our bill-still no heat,by then we hardly could wait get out!! Husband complained, rushing comes a manager with some ice cream and a firework. A little too late! Bill came, heat came on finally. Worst dining experience"

  • "Dry Creek Kitchen used to be our favorite wine country restaurant and we have never been disappointed before. We booked the wine-maker's dinner three months in advance for my birthday but was slightly disappointed this time. The restaurant was packed; as a result, the service was not as good or attentive as before. The food, while was cooked well, was not nearly as creative or complex as what we anticipated. Maybe because of the limited wine-paring aspect, one of the dishes was too salty to our taste and the other needed more texture. It was by no means a bad meal but given the cost of the dinner, it did not live up to the expectation. We may still go back but probably not for the wine-maker's dinner. "

  • "We drove up from Mill Valley. We waited a good 10 minutes before a waiter came over & only after I flagged one down. We ordered the salmon on the brunch menu & then were told it was sold out. The alternatives for my wife & kids were quite inferior. The service was mediocre as was the food. $49 fixed menu for 4 way to expensive for inferior service & food."

  • "I went to the "Mother's Day" list to see which restaurants were offering Mother's Day specials and menus; I recently moved to Solano County, and since I was closer to Wine Country, I decided to look for a restaurant out that way. When I saw the menu for Dry Creek Kitchen, I knew instantly this was where I would make our reservation. They even had markers for my son, and a special menu for him. The staff was very courteous, and the GM even came over to speak with us. I can't wait to come back for a romantic dinner on the weekend! "

  • "After residing in Healdsburg for a month, trying all the top rated restaurants multiple times, we were delighted at the Mother's Day lunch/brunch at Dry Creek Kitchen. I cannot fathom the negative reviews. The room is gorgeous, bright and expensively furnished. Service was outstanding in every respect, and the food was sublime. Our only criticism would be directed at the wine list, which is one of those over-priced lists that are, thankfully, beginning to disappear here. There are many excellent restaurants in Healdsburg where wines are priced about ten dollars over retail, and the selection is excellent, including local wines that are fabulous.This is not the case with Dry Creek Kitchen, unfortunately. But everything else excelled."
