Dry Creek KitchenWe had a large group of 7We had a large group of 7 women, and they were perfectly accomodating and nice. We met so me other diners and we all shared photo opportunities. Wonderful evening....would go again.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is such a wonderful exampleThis is such a wonderful example of a fine restaurant! Beautiful setting, refined food, great wines, and good service. If there was anything that made me not give it a perfect score, it would be that there seemed to be a long wait for the main course...it could be that we were there at prime time and the kitchen had a lot of orders all at once. Would highly recommend this restaurant.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA memorable MealThis is one of the best meals we have had anywhere in the world. The ambience, room and service were extremely gracious and friendly. The food was inventive and perfectly prepared. The scallops encroute came in a sauce so good we asked for bread to sop it all up: we were not going to send any of it back. We ordered duck breast and steak au poivre and both were beyond delicious and perfectly prepared. Portion sizes are reasonable so one is not too full for desserts (which are often the weak point is restaurants like this, but the peanut butter bar was to die for). Tables are far enough apart to ensure a quiet, personal dining experience. I believe that one can bring in a Sonoma wine and pay no corkage.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic, creative food beautifullFantastic, creative food beautifully presented. Excellent wait staff and very knowledgeable sommolier.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous! This is my favorite restaurant on the West Coast, never have had a bad experience.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFancy, upscale venue. ThreeFancy, upscale venue. Three of our four choices from the menu were really very nice. Unfortunately the steak contained too much gristle and seemed a poor cut.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!I really enjoyed the experience at Dry Creek. Even though we had one of the last reservations of the evening, we still had great food and service. The scallops en croute is to die for! An absolute must...6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMPlate after plate of delicious. As a gift for Christmas, my uncle told me to take a friend out for dinner and he would cover the costs. On a weekend getaway in Guernville, my friend and I decided to find a nice restaurant in the area for a tasting menu. Dry Creek Kitchen was top of the list. The menu, including mushroom truffle soup, flat iron steak, halibut, and tortellini was amazing, balanced brilliantly with the wines. Our order was delayed at one point, but the wine was refreshed and we had no complaints. The cost is out of my normal range, with the tasting menu starting at $85 with the wine pairings adding another $69 per person, but I believe it was worth every dollar!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful ambienceWhat a great place! Fast courteous service, great food, wonderful wine. Room has interesting vaulted ceiling and huge fold back doors to allow the outside in.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMbeautiful dining in HealdsburgThis wonderful restaurant is directly across the street from the town square in Healdsburg, Ca. We were lucky to be there
during a week of music in the square. As noted the food, service, wine list and atmosphere are all great. My only
complaint is that there is very little for vegetarians and quite a bit of beef. There was one veggie entree, one fish
and no shellfish. I had wanted shellfish and my only choice was a rather small scallop appie but it was delicious.
My husband had the halibut entree and it was also wonderful. Maybe the menu changes and we missed out on more fish
on maybe it's because there is another outdoor dining place down the street that specializes in fish.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat AmbianceWonderful restaurant in adorable town in Sonama Valley... highly recommend.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA Real Foodies PlaceI've been going to Healdsburg for the past 15 yrs and this is a must place if you are into food as well as excellant service. One
other nice thing is they waver the corkage fee on Sonoma wines!!!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMReliably excellentI have been coming here for years and would be considered a local as I live in Santa Rosa.
The food has been consistently excellent, often better than the late Cyrus.
The wait staff are friendlier, yet do an outstanding job technically. They make their guests feel comfortable and that also goes a long way towards a great dining experience be it for an intimate dinner for two, a family party or a graduation party in their private room.
As a local cardiologist, I would also say that the food is heart healthy or heart friendly.
I always count on this Sonoma county gem to provide the right setting and dining experience for entertaining family or out of town guests.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining in HealdsburgWe had the scallop en croute and Sonoma county greens salad as appetizers. The scallop dish was excellent. Very flavorful. For our entrees we had the Duroc Pork Porchetta and the special - Ribeye Steak with truffle mashed potatoes and truffle shavings. The pork was very tasty. The mashed potatoes with truffles were great. The steak was ordered medium rare and came out medium well.
We brought our own bottle of wine based on a tip from one of the wineries we had visited earlier that day - if you bring a bottle of wine from a Sonoma county winery, you don't have to pay corkage.
The service was excellent. It felt as though there were two servers per guest. Granted, we did go to the restaurant at 8PM on a Tuesday night.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great serviceThe service was outstanding and attentive. The food was very well prepared and did not take long to come out of the kitchen (just the right amount of time). The dinner portions were also just the right size and left ample room for dessert.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was exceptionalThe service was exceptional and the food creative.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner experience was delightfulThe service was excellent. The wait staff attentive AND knowledgeable about the food that was being served. Our many questions were answered so we were able to make our selections and create a wonderful dining experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and will be back again.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous celebration dinnerMy husband and I went to celebrate a birthday and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We both ordered the tasting menu and the matching wines - it was fabulous! The food was flavorful and expertly prepared. The tasting menu was so much fun as you were able to try many of the selections from the regular menu.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Everything about our evening with friends was perfect. The food was outstanding! The unique scallop appetizer was the best I have ever had. The service was excellent; we had to wait for some other guest to arrive and they were incredibly patient and were very attentive while we waited.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, Excellent, ExcellentOur visit to the Sonoma Valley was highlighted by our dinner at the Dry Creek Kitchen on our last evening. The ambience, service and food were all extraordinary. We brought our own bottle of very nice Pinot Noir from a nearby Sonoma winery which they opened and served us at no fee. The food was exceptional. The overall experience was so good that words are hard to describe it.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent foodWe go every time we're in Healdsburg and it is well worth the visit. One of the best restaurants in the area. Service started a little choppy with too many servers trying to serve us but things were better when Lucas became the primary server. The food was exceptional across the board.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience!!!!Celebrated mothers day with a wonderful dinner! Enjoyed everything from bread sticks to complimentary cookies!!! All dishes cooked to perfection, flavors abounded!!!!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointed! This is our favorite place in Healdsburg! The food is great along with the service. The no corkage fee is you bring your own wine from wineries in the area is a perk!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ValueThe weekly changing three-course Sonoma Neighbors' Menu at $37 is a terrific value. Chef Justin Vallette's creative ideas and execution, while still relying on local producers, are a welcome change from the Cal-Italian menus that seem to be the norm everywhere.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWe were celebrating a landmark birthday. The entire evening was fabulous from entry being greeted by a friendly hostess to the end with coffee and a chocolate dessert. We had drinks at the table and a bottle of wine recommended by the wine steward. The wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive without interfering. I had the scallop en croute with onion and leek in a black truffle beurre rouge sauce and my nephew had the tortellini. Both were excellent. For our entrees we had the Liberty duck breast served with a almond sauce and a New York steak with a mustard sauce. Both were cooked exactly as we asked and served with great sides. They could not have been better. I can't wait for a reason to return to Healdsburg so I can go again.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFriendsA friends lunch at a difficult time. Good food and company helped to ease the challenges faced.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMVery CaliforniaThe chicken done 2 ways was tasty, but the halibut and hummus was bland. Platings were attractive but seemed to be more important than the food. The carrot cake dessert was a clever deconstruction but had no real flavor , however the lemon tart had both good looks and good flavor. The waitstaff was attentive. An interesting experience, but for the money spent, I'd rather eat at Commander's Palace in New Orleans.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. WellGreat food and service. Well worth the drive from Tiburon4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA top-notch experienceOur dinner for 6 was so terrific that we decided to return the next evening for another dinner! Great service, wonderful food, beautifully presented. We'll return the next time we're in Healdsburg.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExtraordinarily good. WhyExtraordinarily good. Why did I wait so long for my first visit?4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI had seen some Trip AdvisorI had seen some Trip Advisor reviews where locals had dissed the place for poor service so I was a bit apprehensive. I have to say that the evening could not have gone more perfectly. Food and service was outstanding!! We were able to bring some wine from our tasting tours that day and they were most accomodating. The somelier was most helpful when time to pick from the list. Would definetley want to go back here.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeChef provided a regular menu plus 2 tasting menu options that could be paired with wine. One of the options was a 3 course and the other a 5. I chose the 3 and it was perfect.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a let downAgain - we had a fabulous experience at Dry Creek Kitchen. This is one of my favorite places to dine. Without a doubt, I would recommend it to anyone who has an affinity for fine dining. We are always thrilled
I did feel that the wine list seemed to soar in prices this trip. Or perhaps it was heavy on the pricey wines in the Pinot Noir Category.
That said, Dry Creek is very accommodating if you bring in Sonoma County wine as they do not charge corkage. That is a wonderful service and great promo for Sonoma County wineries. We really applaud that.
The staff service is impeccable. Honestly, our food was a bit delayed. Without having to raise the issue, the staff comped up on lovelt treats and Port.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my third time at DryThis is my third time at Dry Creek Kitchen. Have always loved it. This time everything was fabulous ...except my main dish. I had the Halibut and it was so salty that I couldn't finish it. Fortunately, they didn't charge me for it. I would still go back as the rest of my meal was fantastic and the experience is always very good.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful restaurant! TalentedBeautiful restaurant! Talented chef! Fabulous desserts!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI have never dined at DryI have never dined at Dry Creek Kitchen and my huband and I went there for my birthday. My husband and I shared the tasting menu and we enjoyed it very much. The service and the staff were great. Every course was perfectly presented and the servers were gracious and friendly. We will definetely be back for the food, ambiance and service!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDo not miss this place!Excellent food! Very nice American fusion cuisine.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the tasting menu --allHad the tasting menu --all seven of us and it was superb. Hard to please 7 women but we all thought it was perfect and outstanding. French Laundry has nothing over this restaurant.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food at good pricesExcellent food at good prices in a great atmosphere. I have been going to this place for at least 6 years and have never been disappointed in the creativity, quality, or taste of the food. I had the Easter Dinner special menu; my partner ordered off the ala carte menu. Food served is always evolving and improving. Always an enjoyable eating experience. Our reservation was timely honored. Note of concern: service is a bit disjointed, with too many people serving different portions of the meal and servers not always communicating with the others as to what has already been done or ordered. Time between courses was good except between the entree and next courses: a 20 minute wait for a cheese course and a dessert, no explanation as to why.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHave stayed at the heraldsburgHave stayed at the heraldsburg hotel but never dined at the kitchen. It was fantastic, we're still talking about it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe three of us enjoyed allThe three of us enjoyed all of our courses. Everything was fresh, delicious, and presented enticingly.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMexemplary food, fantasticexemplary food, fantastic service - an all round good dining experience. Why Michelin have not awarded it stars is a real mystery! .. and you can take two bottles of local wine without corkage.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOn our trip to Sonoma lastOn our trip to Sonoma last year we had our best meal (food and service) at Dry Creek Kitchen, quite an accomplishment in Sonoma, land of great food. This year was different. They seemed to be very short staffed and harried and it resulted in some less than spectacular service and food, especially disappointing in a restaurant with a great reputation, our prior personal experience, and $$$$.
First they forgot to take our wine order, which we easily bremedied. Some of the dishes were excellent, but others must have sat in the kitchen awaiting delivery and were not served hot. However, we were most upset when the staff which used to be well-trained in food allergies (in our case gluten free), was totally misinformed. Two staff members trie3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA bit too much service - seemedA bit too much service - seemed there were two actively working our table.
Often duplicating questions. But the food was very good.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first diningThis was our first dining experience at Dry Creek Kitchen and we will definitely be back. Upon entering Dry Creek, we were greeted by a very nice and friendly hostess and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of our questions. He also asked if we had any food allergies, and kept them in mind. I recommend the Sonoma Greens, the Charcuterie, the Short Ribs and the Petrale Sole Stuffed with Crab. For dessert we had the Orange Mousse and I had the Lemon Bar. Everything we ordered was delectable. The ambience was cozy and elegant. I would recommend it for special occasions, because although we do not drink, the tab was $162. But it was so worth the price!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favsThis is a place that my husband and I love to dine at when we want a special treat. The service is always amazing and the food NEVER disappoints. Everything is beautifully prepared, and the ambiance is so elegant. Somehow, the place never feels stuffy. A true Sonoma County gem!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, creative food.Excellent, creative food. Quiet, well-timed service. Definitely worth a visit!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBeyond the food (which wasBeyond the food (which was great) I always judge a restaurant's service based on how attentive the waitstaff is to my water glass. I never had to ask for more water, the waitstaff kept an eye on my glass and filled it before I could make a request. A true sign of well trained staff with an eye to superb customer service.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner, good service.Great dinner, good service. Great california cuisine selections. Only complaint was there was way too much pepper on a couple of items, including my scallops with truffle. Aside from not liking pepper and not having it listed as a significant ingredient (the amount WAS significant & therefore should've been listed) it just didn't go with the dish. But overall delicious and fun experience and we'd definitely go back. The seared tuna app was delicious!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second time dinningThis was our second time dinning at Dry Creek Kitchen and it was just a as great as the first. My wife and I enjoyed the chef's tasting menu and it was excellent. Food was amazing along with the service. A must eat location whenever visiting Healdesberg. Can't wait to go back.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
