Diner Reviews
  • "We went there for dinner on a Tuesday night. We did not have a reservation but we were seated promptly. We had the fresh oysters, the green chili soup and deviled eggs as appetizers. Everyone was happy with their choice. For entrees we had the scallops, Crab Louie salad and and a steak. Again everyone was pleased. The apple crisp was a big hit for dessert. The server was attentive but not overly so. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and I would go back again."

  • "Not a everyday kind of eatery as it relates to cost. BBQ was well done, nice portions. Excellent comfort food in a nice designed interior of a history location."

  • "Dry Creek Grill was quite the find! My girlfriends and i just wanted a good dinner and a place to catch up. The food was great and the decor was amazing. never would guess you were in a strip mall!"

  • "Food was really tasty. I had the bison steak and it was delicious. Hubby had the mixed BBQ girl and it wS a huge and delicious portion. The kitchen was really slow getting the food out on the night we were there. All of the tables in our section had diners waiting for food. The food was so good that we are willing to give them a second try and hope the slow service was a one time problem."

  • "We have been here several times in the past and we will be back again. The service, the food and the general ambience make this a great place for a great meal."

  • "Our meal was delicious, presentation good; staff efficient and polite. An odd place for a hot new eatery with big-city interiors."

  • "A gem in Willow Glen. It's definitely more upscale than most of the casual dining in the area. The wines are great, the staff is great, and the food is wonderful. I love the fire pits out front. On the weekends, there is generally a wait for seating, so you can get a drink and sit out on the benches by the fire pits and relax. Every time I've gone I've ended up meeting some great people! A definite: GO!"

  • "Love the barbecue, and have systematically been working through sll other offerings on the menu. Haven't had anything that wasn't yummy. Found out that the snack menu from the bar had several offerings not found on regular menu. Am a big fan of the house done potato chips with pulled pork (choice of meat, we like the pork) and the tempura green beans with a green goddess dipping sauce. There are several others all yummy. We are generally full when the entrees come, but that just means we get great leftovers the following day. Leftovers are nicely packaged and bagged. Service always been prompt."

  • "The food was excellent as well as the service. We enjoyed getting plain cooled water instead of a glass filled with ice. We were there on a busy Saturday night and so the restaurant was a bit noisy."

  • "The food is kinda sophisticated soul with a Silicon Valley kick. The cornbread is JAMMIN'. We started out with the jumbo prawn cocktail. I'm not a big fan of cocktail sauce, but I saved the left over sauce to go with my steak. My steak was cooked medium, the way I like it and it was very tender. The mushroom sauce could have used a few more mushrooms, but it was tasty. My wife had the crab Louie salad and it was a nice portion of crab. The only thing missing was the live music they used to have on Friday nights. This is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Silicon Valley."

  • "A very nice restaurant! Such nice ambiance inside & immediately outside the door! It's too as it's in a strip mall :(. Once inside, you forget all about that! It's beautiful inside (like Los Alros Grill's twin). Nice huge bar, subtle lighting. Good food, drinks, and service! Menu options are nice & cover a wide range of choices making the final selections hard to pick from since everything sounded SO GOOD! And it all was! We'll be back!"

  • "This is a good restaurant for special occasions, nicely appointed and decorated, great ambiance. The food and service are very good but the prices are more like I would expect to pay for amazing food and service. :) That being said, the menu has a good variety of choices for nearly anyone, which makes it ideal for a special occasion or group activity."

  • "We went here for our anniversary and had a decent time. We were not read the specials, but heard the waitress telling others after we ordered. We were also not given bread when other tables were. The food was okay, but not anything overly impressive. I had the stroganoff. The meat was good, but the sauce was common. Wife had a smoke chicken dish, that she did not finish. Both dishes had waaaay too many onions. I had the Boston Verne cake for desert which was good. Wife had apple crisp that had a burnt top. I had a cherry gimlet that was pretty good. Wife had a mint juelip that she did not finish. Overall, I expected more for the $112 price tag of the meal. I'm not all that picky, but the joint did not live up to what I heard."

  • "Discovered by accident---serendipitous! Great menu and wine lits. Broad range of whiskies, and bar tenders who know how to make cocktails! Extraordinary appetizers (potato-wrapped scallops), and daily specials. And main courses to die for! We will be regulars, no doubt."

  • "We arrived at 5 PM on a Tuesday, so the restaurant was quiet. My friend and I both had the brisket. It comes with delicious cornbread, beans and coleslaw. The brisket was very tasty and very tender. I will come back."

  • " We made this reservation because it was fairly close and still open for a 9pm dinner. Now keep in mind this location is in a strip mall so we were not expecting a lot. just a place open to eat. I normally do not drive by this location so it has been some time being in that neighborhood. Well i was blown away they have remodeled the whole place it is awesome inside with a wonderful outside eating area with fire pits. We were seated immediately and our waiter was there within minutes we had our wine and ordered I had the wild salmon and my wife the slow cooked bbq half chicken it was very good no complaints price was fair the atmosphere was great and service as well will come back again"

  • "This place blew me away. I thought it was going to be another "flash in the pan" joint. To my delight, the inside was romantically moody, set for people watching. The service the best I've had in a very long time...didn't have to request a thing. The staff saw to everything without asking. The food prepared beautifully, tasted as good as it looked and the portion sizes were above expectations. Will be back again and again!. Someone knows how to run a first class restaurant. It was expensive but well worth it. Thank you!!!"

  • "Fine dining at its best. Service excellent from arrival to departure. Staff seeks out ways to make your visit more enjoyable, attentive without being intrusive. Broad wine and menu selection, well prepared and served. Drinks a bit expensive. In fact, all this comes at a price but well worth it for a romantic, special or culinary experience."

When seated, the wine was waiting for us at our table. Service was outstanding and the food was very good. I'll be coming back!"

  • "This was our first time dining at Dry Creek Grill and it was wonderful! The staff is friendly and well-trained, efficient and professional. The ambiance was welcoming and refined. The food was delicious with beautiful presentations, we really enjoyed every dish! Loved the outdoor seating with the fire pits, it would be a great place to enjoy a cocktail and an appetizer while waiting for a table."

  • "The food was good, the service excellent, the beer list better than average and they have a lots of flat screen TVs. It was Fathers Day, we had reservations and were seated immediately. The restaurant can be pricey (my prime rib was $47) I have eaten there 3 times and have never left hungry. The salads were small but contained unusual combinations which made them tasty. My only complaint was the noise level which was high but not enough of a deterrent to keep me from returning."

  • "I lived in this area for over 17 years and just discovered this restaurant a year ago. how did I miss this gem? a little noisy but great food, wine list and special drinks (Pesco sour and Caipirinha). The fire pits outside are great. wish the view was better than a parking lot."

  • "A hidden gem in San Jose, Dry Creek Grill was found to be very good service with high priced a la carte menu. Probably would not return except for special occasion. Specializes in steak, but offers small variety of other main course items. Alcohol is over priced. If you don't know where to look, you may not see this restaurant located in small strip mall"

  • "Very expensive - doesn't warrant it as extremely noisy w/kids crying thruout our meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our second visit and first visit for our guests. Will NOT BE VISITING AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "Food and service very good, but the noise level was too loud. I was screaming at table mate sitting across from me, and when I used the ladies room, my ears hurt from the level of noise. Ate dinner at 7 pm on a Thursday night. Ask for a quiet booth."

Wide variety on menu, including a fun and informative drink list. Looking forward to trying a Happy Hour. I've heard it's a good time for an after work beverage with friends."

  • "Dry Creek Bar & Grill great food, very nice atmosphere and decor very stylish. Nice selection of choices for dinner. Our dinner of Prime Rib Stroganoff, Prime Rib Dip was savory & tender. The Caeser salad along with the chilled shrimp was tasty. Dessert, Boston Creme was a delight. I would highly recommend this place, for dinner with your significant other. Superb!"
