The service was very good. I ordered the Chef's "special" prime rib. It was so tender! It was served with a wonderful fresh horseradish sauce. My friend ordered the porterhouse steak and it was HUGE...but he ate it all! So I'm guessing his was good too. We were celebrating a birthday and our waiter brought out the cake I brought in....fully lit! He then took it back and brought out beautifully cut pieces for everyone (6 of us). All in all, we had a very nice experience here.

Every person at my table was happy with their meal, and our server went out of his way to bring out a birthday cheesecake for my mother! The side car was delicious! The restaurant was a little loud, but that just means everybody is having that good of a time. Thanks Dry Creek!

I made a reservation here to take my wife out for a quiet romantic dinner. This was our first time dining here and it turned out to be not the best venue for that. The restaurant is basically a large rectangle and the front half that you walk into is petty much a *LOUD* sports bar. We were seated under a row of wall mounted televisions next to a packed bar. Not at all conducive to a romantic dinner. The attentive staff saved our evening. When we explained what we expected we were instantly whisked into the back half of the restaurant, which is pretty much what I expected for a steakhouse. The guide calls the noise level "moderate." Maybe I'm just too old school but it was loud. We went here because my wife wanted a steak but, after discussing the menu with our waiter Brian who was very informative about the offerings, she went with the grilled pork chops instead and was delighted with them; pronouncing them perhaps the 2nd best she had ever had. I was looking forward to a steak as well but I took Brian's advice went with the BBQ. The mixed BBQ plate was perhaps the best BBQ I have ever had in San Jose. The slaw and the corn bread were so so but the beans were nonpareil and the meat was worth a trip from anywhere in the Bay Area to enjoy. The deserts were delightful. They are huge and one easily suffices for two people. All in all we really enjoyed our experience here, even though it was not quite what we originally expected

even though we didn't eat this last time there (only drinks) we still love this place Our reservations were for 8:30 but still arrived at 7pm hoping to get in. Had a drink and decided we were too hungry to wait (bar was packed so we couldn't even get food at the bar). We left and then got our call back around 8:45 (and we were already eating somewhere else). We love this place and will continue to come back for me (our tummies were just telling us something else that night - rumble rumble).

'Elevated BBQ' at its best! Food and drinks were fantastic. You have your expected bbq dishes but several interesting and creative ones as well. Great martinis although most a little too sweet. Our server was perfectly friendly but was slow and seemed to have a hard time prioritizing tables. We definitely felt like one of the low priorities.

We've eaten here a half dozen times and we really like almost all aspects of the Grill except for when it's crowded. We like to go well before our reservation and have a drink to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. On busy nights it's very tough to get a seat at the bar or even get a drink. I don't know what they could do, (maybe open the upstairs?) but I'm always amazed when any restaurant makes it difficult for customers to spend money on alcohol, when that's the product which affords them their highest profit margin.

Came here for my birthday dinner on a Monday evening. We were seated in the area next to the bar with televisions on one side of us and the bar on the other. While the bar was fairly quiet, I did not want to be seated next to a television showing a football game for my birthday dinner. We asked to be seated in a quieter area and they were very accommodating. We were in a booth and it was much more pleasant. Our food was delicious and our server was friendly and helpful, although he forgot to ask us how our food was during dinner (oops!) Even though we didn't order any dessert, he sent on with a candle in it for us. Very nice. Would definitely return!

Warm wine served up from the wine kegs. $70 bottle of Rombauer was put in a wine bucket filled with cold water. You will need to ask for bread. You will need to ask for a drink napkin so your water glass does not drip on you while you are having dinner. Not much sophistication at DCG...too bad because it is really a nicely decorated restaurant.

We've dined at Dry Creek Grill many times but last Sunday night the service was terrible as was the food. The kale salad was a wet soggy mess and was returned uneaten. My husbands Ahi tuna salad was terrible as well. Our guests scallops and prime dip were good so they said. I think something was way off - short staffed, the chef didn't show up, whatever. Huge disappointment.

Nestled in a strip mall you would never guess the quality of the food and service here. The menu Steaks were prepared exactly to order and the au gratin potatoes were pretty good. Was slightly disappointed in the brussel sprouts though, the bacon overkilled the vegetables. Physical space is upscale but not stuffy. The service was on point. We sat at a table however noted that the bar was impressive and inviting. Enjoyed the fact that they use local produce and ingredients where they can. We will be returning to taste their barbequed meats.

Since having children, my husband and I only get one date night per month and we love being able to start the night with excellent food and live music of any kind. A long while back we discovered Dry Creek and were delighted by the excellent appetizer menu and wine selection- the kicker, both times (non holiday even) there was music. Once it was a small 2 or 3 person bluesy band and the other time just a dJ. We were a little sad that there isn't regular music any longer. Our waiter told us they only offer it now on Valentines day and once and a while. The noise level of talking is pretty high here, the music was a nice backdrop. We enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter, Colin, was very attentive (not overly) and the water guy was so friendly!

I've been very pleased with the Dry Creek Grill the last several times; however, the last visit was nothing short of a disaster. The gentleman who was our server seemed bored to be there and barely glanced at our table when taking our order - service was slow - steak was WAY too salty - the broccolini had sprouted which was gross. I'm usually really pleased with the restaurant and will try not to let this one time spoil other experiences. I will give myself some time before heading over there again.

Our waiter chose a great wine to go with all of our assorted meals. We waited for the dessert menus but they never came. Eventually the waiter arrived with a giant piece of chocolate cake and a giant piece of cheesecake with candles on top! Really lovely evening.

It was our first visit to Dry Creek Grill. The menu has a section with steaks, a bbq section where entrees come with cole slaw and beans, the chef's specials, and a great burger list. The 1/2 chicken on the specials came with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts with bacon. The chicken is from a local organic farm and was very good. The meatloaf is also worth trying and comes with bacon on top and a bbq glaze. The atmosphere is dark and woody inside and feels comfortable. The bar is lively and can be loud at times. If you want a quiet dinner ask to be seated on the left side of the restaurant for better dinner conversation. I would go again.

For d main, I ordered the St. Louis pork ribs (too much gravy, v salty n d meat was kinda tough on d sides) beans with bacon (v tasty but after awhile, tasted v salty too) and coleslaw. Hubby had d rib eye (quite blend) with mash potatoes n broccolini. Dessert - Boston cream was v gd though.

This was my fourth time to Dry Creek Grill, and I enjoy it each time. The food is consistently good, if not excellent and the service is always friendly. The cocktails are pretty good. In my opinion, it lacks the charm of similarly priced restaurants, but that being said, it is always a decent meal. The menu has a large variety, which is nice. The service and food were wonderful and we had an epic 18 inning Giants playoff game on the bar TV for entertainment. I had made a note of my mom's birthday when I reserved on OpenTable and the first thing our waiter Mike did when he got to the table was wish her Happy Birthday which made her smile. After the meal, huge portions and delicious, they brought mom a piece of chocolate cake (on the house) with a candle. Thank you Mike for being so attentive and thanks to Dry Creek Grill for making mom's birthday special.
