As always, their rolls are excellent. Our server, Remy, was very personable knowledable about the menu. Week nights are best for quick service and table availability. It was a relatively quiet Thursday night there and our food was served quickly. The area manager stopped by our table and welcomed our input. Nice!

The place itself is really nice, with booths for some privacy and other areas that are pretty open for largers groups to mingle and socialize. Mixed feelings about the food. On one hand the red snapper carpaccio was something entirely new, and while it was enjoyable, I wish it had just a little more flavor. The sushi was good, not great, but good. The real gem was their dessert. We had the strawberry cheesecake makimono, which could best be described as a deep fried strawberry cheesecake sushi roll. It was a wonderful combination of flavors and textures.

Then you'll like Drunken Fish, food is awesome. Tables are small and ours was in the middle of traffic with air conditioning blowing right on us- I should've requested different table. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about menu but we rarely saw her! Water glasses went empty, waited a long time to order and no follow up after food came. And the restaurant wasn't that busy. Plus there were a lot of servers and busboys so we didn't understand inattentiveness. I would go here again but request table upstairs (better ambience) and different server.

The food was great! However, we had to repeatedly ask the waitress for plates, drinks sauces pretty much everything. Then she didn't order all of our food. She made it sound like the kitchen forgot, but reality she didn't put the order in.

We had a good experience, they were out of serveral things we wanted. They were out of the beer and wine we wanted, also a machine was broken so one of the sushi rolls we wanted they could not make. Not a show stopper, but you would figure they would have liquor stocked on a Saturday night. We will still continue to go.

The sushi rolls were larger than normal, very tasty and creative. The nori seemed thicker than usual and tough, however. Music was not to my taste, but would probably suit a twenty- or thirty-something crowd. All-in-all, an "OK" experience, but with all the dozens of restaurants in the KC area, I probably won't go there again in the near future. There are places with sushi that are as good or better than this restaurant and with less expensive prices.

Our group had the best time at Drunken Fish. Of course the people contributed to that - but the food did too! Carpaccio was outstanding! and the Starburst and Kamikaze rolls were among our favorites. Our waiter was attentive but not hovering. He was responsive and the timing on the food was great (except they kind of "lost" our edamame order - but they made up for that)

The Drunken Fish Leawood location was surprising in a every way. The boyfriend and I had tried the Power & Light location when they were first opening up and couldn't have been more disappointed on all fronts (service, food, atmosphere), so, it was delightful to see how far they've come in this location. We are adventurous eaters, he ordered sashimi/sushi combinations. I ordered the tuna steak. And, if you know what its like trying to find really good sushi in the Midwest, you'll understand when I say, I was shocked at how really fresh, expertly prepared the seafood was, not "beachy" in any way. The servers were attentive, knowledgeable and customer oriented, which I love as that seems to be a rarity too. We will be back! Well Done :)

Sushi is obviously their forte, the presentation and freshness was great. The entrees were adequate, but have had better, especially for the cost. The server was very knowledgeable and connected with our table immediately, but she seemed to be covering tables all over the restuarant which made her service spotty. There was a lot of downtime between appetizer, sushi, entrees and dessert. Our dining 'experience' lasted over 2 1/2 hours; I feel we could have had accomplished the same in a little over an hour, had all cylinders been firing. Many, many employees walking around with water pitchers, but there only seemed to be one server working the inside dining room.

We went to drunken fish for a girls night out. I had a reservation but was told upon arrival that it would be at least 10 minutes before we were able to be seated. Once we got to our table it took a good 5-10 minutes before anyone brought us water or welcomed us to our table. Once our server came by he had an excuse for why he hadn't been there yet. We ordered appetizers, our sushi, and drinks at the same time. Our drinks came out after our appetizer and twice we were brought the wrong tables food. One person in our group got her soup and salad after her meal had arrived and no one ever asked if we wanted more to drink. Overall, not a great experience. Luckily the food was good, otherwise this review would be much worse. It was so loud too!

My daughter and I went for a little dinner. Nice server but overworked. He really tried. All the food was greasy except for the soup and one dessert, which you do not expect at a Japanese place. We had Tempura, Japanese Chicken Wings and Shrimp Fried Rice. The Fried Banana Dessert was greasy too. If it wasn't for the greasiness it would have all been okay or good. The miso soup was good, the chocolate cake was way too sweet. Some people may like the decor. We found it too dark ... all black and red. The bar area and outside patio seem to be nice. We just can't go and eat greasy food like that.

This is the second time I have dined at Drunken Fish in Leawood. It was not busy at all both times but took way too long to get our food. I don't know if you need more Sushi Chef's or what. But I don't understand why there has been such a wait for food when the place is not busy at all both times. VERY Hesitant to try again for this reason..

We arrived at 12:00 pm. Ordered and noticed many people that came in after us were receiving their food order and we weren't. After about 40 minutes we were told the order had been misplaced and they were now working on it. therefore, after 50 minutes of waiting we received our order. The only thing that will bring me back is the food. It was great, customer service was poor. During the 50 minutes, the gentleman preparing dishes talked to us more than the manager or server. It was Mothers day so my wife ate for free and we still spent over 45.00 dollars.

Terrible seating requested new seat, and were denied until. One of our party of 4 was injured by a server in the very tight space. Moved upstairs where it was less crowded. Very noisy, and food was just average. Not likely to return. Manager did stop by our table however he seemed very distracted, and was only half hearted in his attempt to see what went wrong down stairs, seemed to be making excuses for poor response to my original request for a new table.

Waitress drops glass, doesn't offer to pick it up....(guess that's the customer's job). Table was sticky and unclean, waitress doesn't pour my beer correctly and literally wipes the excess foam off the glass with her FINGERS!!!!! EPIC FAIL!!! The food portions were kid sized and the food itself was as average as you'd get anywhere in my opinion....but what takes the cake is the Frat party atmosphere. With bartenders shouting all night, people thought there was an altercation going on every few minutes. All we wanted to do is eat out...not go to some college drinking game frat party masking itself as a restaurant.
