Diner Reviews
  • "We return often for the awesome food, service, and atmosphere."
    Dined on 7/21/2014
  • "Awesome sushi! The Mango Roll was beyond delicious! Our waiter Sean was great and on top of it. Loved the variety of Saki and atmosphere! We will definitely be back next time we're visiting!"
    Dined on 7/20/2014
  • "My service was awful but the food was good. Our waitress hardly ever came and checked on us, our check was overcharged, and it took forever to be able to pay."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "I found a piece of metal wire in my sushi roll. What if I would have swallowed that??"
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "I have been going here for many years and this was the first time I was disappointed. The service was very slow and I didn't feel as though the food was as good. I will go back in hopes this was a fluke. I would also like for them to get a bit more creative with their menu. It hasn't changed in all the years I've been going there."

  • "This is our favorite restaurant ever! So great----sitting outside is awesome! Get the drunken fish roll!"
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Reliable may not be the first word you want to hear when describing a sushi bar, but if you've ever had a bad piece of fish, you'll appreciate that Drunken Fish has never let us down. Better than that, their specialty rolls remind us why we like sushi! We had the spicy butterfly and white dragon. We also had sashimi which was very fresh. We sat outdoors which was perfect. Great experience!"

  • "The drunken tofu (agedashi tofu) was very nicely done -- lightly crispy fried exterior, light broth garnished with shredded daikon, carrots and shiso leaves."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "The rolls were larger than what I am used to. Plenty of food that tasted great."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "I've frequented this location for over 7 years. The last few visits have not been great. This last visit, my reservation was not in their system. However, the manager did find us the seating we desired. Once seated, the service was horrible. I'm allergic to shellfish and gave specific details for my order. I had to send it back twice. My soup was cold & the waitress had a smart mouth. The manager once again tried to please me by offering me a complimentary birthday drink. I visit this location because I live in the neighborhood but I'm really considering trying other local sushi restaurants."

  • "Visited with my boyfriend for my birthday as it was a weeknight and we wanted somewhere that would a little bit of a night scene. The service, food, and drinks were impeccable. The price is a little on the high side, but worth it for high quality and unique sushi."
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "My party and I had made reservations that were during a non-prime time at the Drunken Fish. Usually when I go here they are very quick. However, on this day they were VERY slow. But, in the end the sushi was so worth it. They are so creative and fun with their preparations. A great place to eat for any sushi lover."

  • "I THINK ALL THE GROUPONS HAVE RUINED THIS LOCATION. The Westport location is GREAT! The deluxe sushi / sashimi plate was appetizer size. This has happened before, but this was really small and really bad. When I commented to the server, she stared at me - blank stare. i decided to move on. The service has gone down greatly to the point where some of our food was missing, but was offered AFTER the plates were cleared? Really? I want soup and vegetables for dessert? Also being told "your okay" time after time after time really bugged me for some reason. When I say "sorry to bother you " its A HINT. Don't validate your poor service by condescending to me! The bill of course was wrong, so I had to figure that for her too. I'm done for now."

  • "Me and my girls always go for happy hour and we always get the Starburst Roll, White Tiger Roll, and the Fried Philly Roll. The service is always good, they always greet you to when you come in and till when you leave. Everybody is supper nice and the mangers are wonderful, they really make you feel comfortable. I don't go to no other Drunken Fish except the CWE, it's the best in my eyes."

  • "As always, I was satisfied with both the food and the atmosphere."

  • "The food here was good but the plating was poor, my drink was terrible but it wasn't like I could try to get another one because I'm pretty sure our waitress decided to abandon ship. She brought the food and I didn't see her again until we paid our bill. Westport Plaza was amazing and made this location look like a bunch of amateurs. I will not be going back. "

  • "Food was very good and service was excellent! recommend to all"
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "My 10yr old daughter LoVEs the Chicken Teriyaki here. This was her request to celebrate her last day of Elementary School. She deems this as one of her favorite restaurants...we both LoVE it. The food is always good and I always LoVE the staff. Tori was great. "

  • "Food was delicious, the cocktails were terrible. I don't know if there was any alcohol in my $8 drink, which was whiskey water."
    Dined on 5/29/2014
  • "I enjoyed my first time at the restaurant. Our waitress was patient with us and we just overall enjoyed ourselves."
    Dined on 5/28/2014
  • "My only complaint is that we were seated on the picnic bench outside right next to two women. They were talking about very private and very uncomfortable topics. Luckily, they finished before our food arrived. I would suggest getting rid of the shared bench seating option."
    Dined on 5/25/2014
  • "I purchased a Groupon to check the place out and was instantly amazed by the quality of service, the atmosphere and the food! We were so happy with our dining experience, we returned two days later without a groupon and dined again! The staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place! "
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "For first time visitors to a sushi-type restaurant, it was a great experience. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was a bit noisy for those of us in our 40's and 50's, but it was a fun place. The food was fantastic. If you've not tried the Drunken Fish, you really should."

  • "We love it! We've been there many times as well the other locations and Central West End is our favorite spot!"
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "We love DF at Ballpark Village so we purchased some Groupons with the intention of going there only to find out they weren't accepted at that location. We opted instead for the Central West End location and unfortunately the experience was a let down. The location is great, our server and the manager were excellent but the quality of care put into the food was well below the new location in Ballpark Village. The primary issue that bothered us was that our sashimi and beers were all warm- which is always a little concerning when you are ordering raw fish. The bait and switch Groupon trick was disappointing but would have been easy to overlook had the experience been consistent the BPV location"

  • "Mom wanted sushi for lunch so the kids and I took her to Drunken Fish where the food was spectacular and the service was excellent. Our server provided a rose to "Mom" and her meal was free. The atmosphere was perfect! I definitely recommend this restaurant!"
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Ordered a bunch of sushi, rolls and a noodle dish for a party of three (and a beer). Everything was good. Seemed a little pricey, but it did the trick for our guest that was in the mood for sushi."
    Dined on 4/30/2014
  • "We loved the Drunken Fish roll (one of my faves the last few times I've come), the Spicy (was it?) Butterfly was good but not overly spicy (I can only handle so much), and the Wonderwoman Roll wrapped in cucumber instead of rice and eel! The vegetable tempura on this visit was my favorite appetizer I've had here! The mango sake shot was very tasty as well! Loved everything about it!"
    Dined on 4/27/2014
  • "A great date spot. We split the mai tai fish bowl, which was great and romantic. The shrimp tempura was the best I've ever had. Our server, Lauren, was awesome. "

  • "Requested special drink choice and made accomodations just to fit us. I regularly attend Drunken Fish in the Central West End and have never been disappointed!"
    Dined on 4/26/2014
  • "This restaurant is always consistently good. The outdoor dining is great, love to eat outside in the CWE, always something to see. The food is always fresh, and they have such a variety to choose from. I am a Drunken Fish card member, and I love the fact we can get points to use for discounts on the food when we dine. Always a good choice."

  • "I went prior to a show downtown. Great cocktails, sushi, and service. Will definitely be back."

  • "Our waitress was awesome. Erin was attentive and polite. Our order was without flaw. Her hard work was greatly appreciated"
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "The food was very good especially the sushi and sashimi dishes. They also had gluten free soy sauce! They service was average however. We sat upstairs where it was a bit more quiet however this is a vibrant restaurant. We would go back!"
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "The food was incredible and the wine was excellent!! Energetic and loud atmosphere at times, but a great place for foodies."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "The Drunken Fish never seems to disappoint us when we go. Their signature roles are fantastic and the service is always impeccable and friendly."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "The service here was actually too much- in the first 2 minutes we were asked 3 times by 3 different servers whether we had been here before. In addition to our waitress, multiple managers also kept coming by to ask how we were doing, so there was just too much traffic coming to the table. The actual food itself was very mediocre. Plain potstickers, bland sushi, forgettable sake- pretty disappointing from a place specializing in this food."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Though it was windy, my friend and I asked to sit outside, and it was a great choice. We sat on the corner of an intersection, and watching the afternoon drift by was wonderful. My Madame Butterfly martini was perfect, and my friend and I split an order of shrimp poppers (try it with the honey mustard sauce!) As usual, the St. Louis roll I ordered was incredible, and the California roll was delectable. I will always go back, even after I've tried everything on the menu (which will take a while!)"
