We used to go to Orson regularly for dinners. I like what the new owners have done with the space. We'd been meaning to try it for a while, finally found time on a Sunday morning. They have interesting mimosa variants (prickly-pear/guava makes for a pretty color). We had a good eggs benedict, which came with some really tasty potatoes with peppers and onions; I'm not sure exactly how they'd been cooked, maybe first roasted and then very lightly fried to crisp them up? Also got pancakes with bananas; nice and fluffy; would've preferred having the fruit cooked in rather than as a topping; also, there was no real maple available. Overall pretty good, very friendly service, would try again.

My most recent experience at Drake was very interesting. I didnt know what to expect, but my friends and I ended up grabbing some beers and bar food and having a nice circular table to play a board game at. Not the typical experience that most would describe, but we had an awesome night! sliders were bomb.

Surprisingly great brunch! Usually with bottemless mimosa places the food isn't as great, but here everything was fantastic. It wasn't overly crowded, portions were big and the drinks were great.

i guess since we bought a deal on Gilt, the expectation should have been less, people seated after us got served first and faster, my food was cold, the 4 different waiting staff we had kept forgetting things to bring to our table, the food was not up to par, warmer and at same time for both would have been nice. but my friend waited 15 extra min for pancakes, when other table got theirs first, as mentioned they arrived 10 minutes after us. at the time we went it wasn't busy so not sure why the service was slow, also the servers didn't put out the friendly vibe, felt more like they were just there to be there, the plus is the atmosphere and decor really great just wish my experience was better, not going back.

Be ready to roll over from the night before. The Drake for bunch with their bottomless mimosas will get you right back where you started. Good menu and not overwhelming. The space is open with lots of light and beautifully decorated. Go sometime after they have opened. Staff is slow to start, but will catch up.

This place is more a club than a brunch spot. With that said, they transform things Sunday morning, mostly for a crew that was out on the town the night before. The food was good -- solid brunch fare, nothing fancy, flavorful, filling, enjoyable and a good value. The service was good and the bottomless mimosas truly had no bottom. It was fun. A great place for a group of friends to hang and catch up. A surprisingly good time!

Went to Drake for brunch last weekend with some out of town friends. Their brunch offering must be somewhat new, since there were a bunch of open tables. I wish it would catch on more, because this place could really be a good time. As it was, we still had fun. Brunch was solid, and the staff were great about keeping our drinks full. This place could be a A+ with good crowd.

Cool space. Great food. But the service lacks big time. 1) i dont understand why all the staff looked like they just rolled out of bed. Their attire was what I would wear at home doing chores. 2) they messed up our order 3) they were not engaging. there was no hello, didnt tell us anything about the restaurant or the menu. next time i would not leave a tip.

Sunday Brunch was OK...not worth coming back for. The beignets were mediocre. The service was SLOW. Staff needs to learn that customers LOVE good service, which was lacking.

Food was ok. Drinks were a little weak. Wednesday night is a slow night (only about 25 people there), but having the bartender do both drink and food service was a mistake. They need to staff the venue regardless. Also, someone came out from the back in jeans and an old shirt to do janitorial tasks while we were eating. Yuck. I won't be bringing my party to the Drake.

So I'm not sure why it's on opentable - but they don't really have dinner. The menu is a touch above a bar menu (chicken wings, fries, etc.)

  • Sleek, Sexy - A Good Find

Great place to start your night when going out in SOMA. The kitchen does a good job dressing up standard bar food favorites (wings, fries, calamari, etc.) at reasonable prices $6 - $8 a dish. Cocktails hover at the $12 mark - and the lychee martini is fantastic. Ambiance is very sleek, with cool colors and plenty of texture. It's the sort of place that makes you feel sexy. Bar scene kicks in after 10. All around, a good spot.
