"We went on the OpenTable recommendation of great Sunday brunch places in downtown Chicago. It was not great. For a restaurant in a nice hotel such as the Drake, I was unimpressed. The price wasn't too bad for downtown Chicago, but they didn't even have Belgian waffles available on the brunch bar. The food was ok, nothing spectacular."

"The drake did not live up to its reputation. It was an below average breakfast buffet. No waffle station or eggs Benedict. Marriott breakfast buffet much better. Disappointed in the drake."

"Despite clear mention of a special occasion in the reservation we were given a mediocre table with no window view, though they did move us to a more scenic table upon request. No mention of special occasion when greeted by server---you'd think they'd take advantage of the opportunity to sell mimosas or other drinks not included in brunch price. I actually point-blank asked the hostess if the restaurant was aware there were 2 birthdays in our party; she confirmed that they knew but no mention made by server or anyone else until they surprised us with "happy birthday" desserts. Brunch selection is sparse, not what I expected from an iconic hotel restaurant. Servers refilled coffee without asking and were not very attentive in general."

"overall very good place, great ambiance being the 'drake hotel', very nice views; only issue was hostess was planning to seat us with a limited city view & I pushed for nicer lake view-she did but clearly didn't hide her disdain-anyway food service was great"

"As breakfast places go in our city, this one has much to offer. Although I cannot name it first rate, our window table had a lovely view of the lake, the food was decent, and the maitresse d' was lovely. I'll go again."

"I will return even if it's not for a special occasion. We were not able to get a reservation for the tea the week before Christmas and decided to have lunch at the Drake Bros. I am glad that we did! We had excellent service."

"We made a reservation thinking we would get a nice lunch while visiting Chicago for the holidays. We were surprised to find only a buffet available. Having no other options, we decided to stay for it. Although we were pleased to find a very diverse and nice food selection (crab cakes, shrimp, turkey, carved roast beef), the quality did not meet our expectations. The shrimp was excellent(large, fresh), but the crab cakes were fishy, as was the whitefish. The cut of roast beef was thin and gristly. The turkey was ok, although somewhat dried out. Most surprising, there was no green salad or healthy options. Given the price ($60/Adults, $30/kids - - which we didn't learn until the bill arrived) - - we wouldn't return. Better options nearby."
