This was our first time dining at Drake. The four of us tried the fried chicken, pork chop and the daily seafood special which was scampi. Nothing really stood out; the pork chop was overly smoked and the scampi dish was tasty but didn't include enough pasta. The fried chicken was good but not great and while the grilled escarole that accompanied it was unique and flavorful, there was way too much. No real complaints but no raves either. Our experience was good overall but not enough to warrant a return visit.

I received a recommendation from a friend to try Drake so while my family was visiting from all parts of North America, we did just that. Trinity was our server - excellent all around. The popcorn was a delightful departure from the traditional bread basket. I had a couple of killer cocktails including a Fig + Bourbon Old Fashioned and a Beet + Gin (not what you would expect and oh so good). My main was a special of the evening, roasted quail and to my surprise, I received two birds on a plate, not just one. The prices are incredibly reasonable. This is a must visit.

Easily, the most beautiful restaurant I've been to in Oregon. The decor is impeccable with an east coast vibe that's fun. I felt I was on vacation while I was dining on the best fried chicken I've ever had. Outstanding food, the best service imaginable, beautiful decor...all in downtown Bend. Just go.... you'll love it.

Met good friends, each of us had a different entree, all enjoyed what they ordered. Drinks were served as ordered. Excellent micro brew selection. Attentive service. The ambiance is like a small NY or SF bistro. Parking is plentiful on a week night. The only negative is the noise level which when the restaurant is full is high but overall a very enjoyable evening.

This was our second time at Drake. The first was earlier in the evening when the restaurant was only half full. Food and service then was excellent and noise level was comfortable. On our most recent visit, the place was packed and we couldn't carry on a conversation with the couple across the table without yelling and straining to hear. Food was very good again. We had a long wait for the food to come out of the kitchen, but perhaps that's to be expected when a restaurant is trying to serve so many people at once. We will return to Drake but it will be for lunch or very early dinner when the noise level is tolerable.

Choosing the right restaurant in Bend is difficult as there are SO many wonderful choices, with new ones coming out all the time. By word of mouth we were directed to Drake when entertaining friends from Seattle. All the reviews we had seen were true - both our waitress and the owner were very personable, friendly and fun to talk to. The food was extremely good...two of us had the pork chop which was just scrumptious! The wine list had many wonderful choices. We will definitely recommend Drake for a great dining experience...and now we'll have to go back for lunch!

We got served and seated very timely. However the food was a little American diner style trying to be fusion. What needed up was good but a bit to fried. Also they had some kind of sauce/cheese on the burger that made it tats like cheese in a can. Not my favorite place in Bend but overall okay.

Drake is obviously a popular, busy restaurant...inside and out. Reservations are likely a must. Our waiter was very friendly and seemed to have a good time doing his job. He failed to let me know that the rib-eye steak special was going to cost $40 upfront, but he did emphasize it was dry-aged beef more than once. I guess that was the code word for pricey meal. The steak was not a good cut of meet, and was nothing special at all. I have eaten in mediocre restaurants and had a better steak dinner, and paid less than half the price. My wife's pork chop was dry, but she did like how the meal was prepared. My son was happy with his fish and chips, but it was nothing to rave about. Would we go back? Not likely.

Great restaurant in the heart of downtown Bend. The bartender made a perfect martini, very cold which is how I like them. Food was wonderful! I had the pasta special which consisted of orecchiette with diced vegatables and a bacon cream sauce - absolutely delicious. One member of our party had the hangar steak, which was plentiful enough to feed a hungry man, cooked perfectly - described as great. The other two had the pork and beef meatloaf, shaped like a very large meatball with a slice of perfectly cooked bacon draped over the top, sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes, and served with asparagus - both of them loved it. I would highly recommend Drake for a nice dinner out, with or without friends.

We went for dinner and the service was terrific. There was an antique car show going on in town, so our server suggested we both sit looking out the window so we could watch the show while we had our dinner. By doing so we took up two tables , which was a "big deal" since it was such a busy night, so "kudos" to our server....food was very good, and we did not feel rushed...would certainly go back. satisf

You may have thought, as we did, that Drake was a second-tier restaurant in Central Oregon behind such fine eateries as Ariana and Zydeco. Guess again. Our recent visit convinced us that Drake is up there with the best, especially if you are a bit adventuresome in your tastes. Yes, the atmosphere is energetic and informal but the food is wonderful and so is the value. If an appetizer of corn-breaded, deep fried peppers stuffed with salmon mousse over raspberry jalapeno jelly sounds a bit strange, they were delicious as was the chilled melon soup. Our main dishes of salmon and softshell crab were excellent as well. We’ll be back soon.

We gathered with extended family, 7 of us. Had a good experience in food & friendly professional service. The appetizer 'popcorn' was a treat, enjoyed by all! Everyone enjoyed their meals, too full for dessert though. The only thing not ideal was the noise level is such that with a group of 7 it was hard to hear others not right next to you. There is outdoor seating, though little tables right on the sidewalk wasn't a good fit for our group. Will be back!

The only negative was the bar service was rather slow so we had to wait about 12 minutes or so for our drinks which were not complicated by the way. The food was very good. Well presented and tasty. My appetizer salad of beets, plums and a cheese was delicious. A fairly small restaurant so not great for a group but they do combine tables and move things around to accommodate. A nice buzz.....not a quiet romantic spot really. There are also tables outside though a bit close to the traffic.
