A word from Dragonfly - Robata Grill & Sushi
Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi offers authentic Japanese gastropub cuisine with a modern twist, featuring a variety of grilled items and specialty sushi rolls. Each item is prepared utilizing traditional robata grilling techniques and fresh ingredients for an assortment of uniquely composed dishes. Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi is among few in the nation to bring authentic robata grilling to Orlando, which uses special white coals called binchō-tan that heat up to 1,000 degrees Celsius and burn cleanly without smoke. The high level of heat fully cooks proteins and vegetables and captures their natural flavors. Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi is ideal for many occasions, offering an elegant, yet comfortable ambiance. Plus, private dining, a chic Chef’s Table, a lakeside patio, a sushi bar, a VIP room and more are available. Each detail of our modern restaurant has been thoughtfully considered for the ultimate dining experience.

Diner Reviews
  • "This was our second visit and we were not as impressed as the first time. Service was good but not great; server was not very attentive and it took too long to get drinks. Food was good but not great this time around."

  • "sushi is the freshest and the price points are extremely reasonable. The service was perfect and the chefs are artistic and fun to watch."

  • "Dragonfly is such an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere is trendy without being pretentious, and the food is reasonably priced. The diverse menu and extremely flavorful dishes were created to satisfy any palate. The bacon wrapped asparagus is cooked perfectly and has such a delicious flavor. You must try the Black Dragon, Black and Blue and Dragonfly rolls, each is completely unique and so tasty you will want more. I highly recommend Dragonfly as one of the best restaurants in Orlando."

  • "Read the reviews and decided to take a chance and were blown away. Hostesses were very nice. We sat out on the patio cause the weather was perfect. Eric was our server. He was very attentive and personable. We ordered cocktails and the bacon wrapped scallops off the happy hour menu and loved it! Of course we came for sushi and our expectations were blown away. We normally go to Seito (local chain) but this was better! We asked Eric's opinion for desert and he didn't steer us wrong with the Japanese fried ice cream. Loved every bit of this meal. We will return!"

  • "It was our first visit. We were early for our reservation but they took us right in...we sat and another waiter came over saying our waiter would be right with us... He was and quickly explained the restaurant and how it worked ...Right away I noticed it was freezing in the dining area...But I didn't wanna complain...I realized it was for the wait staff that was constantly running. It was louder than I thought it would be .. but it was fine...we ordered our drinks and had some Japanese beers...the manager came over and had recommendations for the beer....it was nice...he took the time to have that moment. The food was delicious! And a comp dessert for the b day boy was sweet! In all really good!"

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants. I am a sushi lover and live in Chicago. When I travel to Orlando, I MUST visit here. The fish is so fresh and they have the BEST sauted butter edamame with bonito flakes. The bonito flakes make it look like something live is in there which is cool to watch. All the rolls are just fantastic as well as the sashimi. We tried a few items from the grill also and the prawns won!"

  • "Amazing Sushi and Amazing Tempura Fried IceCream. Disappointed how non authentic the Ramen was, still good but not what I was expecting."

  • "We like sashimi and sushi and always try to find a good place when we travel. Our concierge sent us to the Dragonfly and we are very glad he did! Sitting at the sushi bar, we enjoyed watching the chefs ply their trade. Good ginger salad. Liked the 7 piece sashimi. The tuna Kobachi was outstanding. The "bomb" sushi roll was very nice. Came away satisfied for our fish fix."

  • "We don't go to Dragonfly except on special occasions, so probably every 2-3 months or so. The best thing is that while they have a regular menu full of delicious things, they always have a few seasonal dishes that are always different every time we return. This time they had robata pork cheek and flounder, a tangerine pot de creme, and a yuzu lime pie, among other things. The food is always amazingly fresh, cooked perfectly, and served at a good pace. The only downside is that I feel that we're always snubbed a bit because we're young, not as "dressed up" as the other patrons, and we don't order alcohol. I feel that we're sometimes looked over as low-spenders and won't tip, when in fact we are excellent tippers when the service warrants it."

  • "We had found Dragon Fly back during the holidays and this was our first opportunity to go back. The food is great - We usually get about three different sets of about 2 to 3 plates - enough to share and get a taste. We usually mix things up between the Robata grill offerings and the tempura offerings. They have a whole host of sushi offerings, but we don't partake of those. The evening is not inexpensive, but is a great time with food and wine."

  • "Chose to dine here at the recommendation of a metro car driver...very glad that I followed his advice! Delicious fresh options, both raw and seared on the 1000 deg. Robata grill. Wait staff was very knowledgable and made some great recommendations throughout the menu. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town! Reservations via Open Table are a MUST for this hot spot, even during the week."

  • "Great food, terrible service. She brought out one entree and then said their service was staggered and the others would be out shortly. The others can out 15 minutes later all together. No apologies and she was in a hurry the whole time."

  • "Good fresh sushi. Wished their spicy mayo tasted better. Good drinks. Next time, will try their robata grill."

  • "They have a wonderful selection of Sake equaling or exceeding anything on the East Coast. Their appetizers offer a wide variety of exciting choices including grilled items such as pig cheeks together with a wide selection of sashimi including superb Norwegian mackerel..The sushi we had was adequate but not exceptional. The interior is dark and romantic while there is also excellent outside dining available."

  • "We love to dine here. It is by far our favorite sushi place and the only place we have found in Orlando that has great ramen. The only thing we didn't like on this particular night was that there was a kid running around all over the restaurant. While I like kids and in my line of work I am around kids all the time, this is not a place to let kids simply run around. I blame the parents, they seemed like they didn't care."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "We had the Dragonfly Roll, Crunch Roll, and Mango Tango. We enjoyed all three, but the Dragonfly Roll was, by far, the best!"

  • "Great grazing restaurant - order anywhere from one item to any number of items. Sushi (Nigiri) was outstanding. Miso soup with clams was great. Jumbo White Prawns and Shrimp Tempura were also well done. No complaints other than a bit too noisy for our tastes (excuse the pun). Will return next time we are in Orlando."

  • "Truffle and sea scallops risotto was amazing. Grilled shrimps and grilled steak seared at a very high temperature were very tasty. Desserts are also excellent."

  • "We had a group of 10 and went with the "Chef's recommendation" for our meal. Excellent food, great variety, quantity just right. Everyone in the group raved about it. I highly recommed the restaurant for couples, small or large groups."

  • "The food is always great. Love the small portions to share so that you can taste many different dishes. We were there on a Thursday night and it was quieter than our usual Saturday night visit."

  • "We had a delightful dinner here a couple nights ago. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. Our waiter offered great ideas from the menu based on our "mood" and dietary needs. Food came quickly and was sublime. We sat outside because it was a lovely evening and the ambience was great. We definitely will return..."

  • "All plates came to the table almost at once. Unfortunatels no wasbi, soysauce or ginger. This may not seem like a big deal but more than 15 minutes went by before we got these item to our table. The drinks were delayed as well. Not a good impression for my guests!"

  • "I had thought about dining here since they opened, but just didn't get around to it. My DH & I went to celebrate our anniversary, and it was amazing! The food was so delicious - the bacon wrapped asparagus, the Wagyu beef, the pork tenderloin... everything we tried was outstanding. The server took the time to explain the concept of the menu to us, and to make recommendations.. Many items are served as 2 skewers, which is perfect for sharing. When we said it was our anniversary, we were surprised with a lovely glass of champagne, compliments of our server. I can hardly wait to return and try some more of the intriguing menu items."
