  • "We had dinner at 6 pm with plans to see a Shakespeare play at 8 pm. This worked very well. The restaurant is roomy with inside and outside tables. The food was very good as was the service. The atmosphere was pleasantly soothing even though it was a busy night. We will definitely come back the next time we visit Ashland."

  • "The food was awful and took a very long time to be served."

  • "The food can be summed up in one word: "weird". The only thing good is the "grilled painted hills steak" on the Brazil Bowl."

  • "Hands down, our favorite restaurant in Ashland, Oregon. Cannot beat the quality or ambiance, in a comfortable, feel-good atmosphere. They are always running specials and everything is delicious! Cocktails are out of this world. Need we say more?"

  • "Good locally sourced dishes with flair. The posole was well spiced but carnitas were a little tough. The tiger salad was excellent and the mixed drinks are inventive and fresh. I'd recommend this for a nice bite before a play or to finish up an outing."

  • "We sat on the patio a after the Shakespeare rush at around 7:40. Apparently, so did a few other tables. Our server was slow to take our order and bring our check. The food took very long to come out. The food is decent, but there is a touch of sweetness to most of the sauces"

  • "I am not a vegan. So I was shocked when I received my huge garden salad almost raw."

  • "One of the most eclectic menus I have ever encountered and the kitchen pulled it off. The facility, an old church, was a touch strange but that did not distract from the overall experience."

  • "The restaurant wasn't very busy but the service was slow and the servers seemed uninterested. The food is a fusion of Asian and Caribbean and did not really hit the mark for either location this trip. May return in order to give them another chance but with so many wonderful restaurants in the area it may be awhile."

  • "The fresh organic vegetables were superb. The entrees were prepared with excellent presentation and cooked exactly as ordered. The service was attentive and prompt. We had a half hour to spare before show time. The location for Festival goers is perfect. The wine list has a fair number of wines by the glass available. "

  • "Great restaurant, great food, casual, relaxed atmosphere. Creative menu choices, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Four of us here for lunch this day, a couple of salads, an entree, and a sandwich later and we left happy and full. Food was excellent, server was great, explained menu offerings well. Definitely will return next time in Ashland, would try dinner next trip."

  • "We were seated in the left corner of the upper level. The crowd noise was very loud and apparently your out take fans were not working properly. My wife and I both noticed the cooking or food smells on our clothes after leaving the restaurant. We like your menu, it's different! Our waiter was very good. The restroom was clean."

  • "Although we love Dragonfly, it was not a good experience this time. Too too loud to talk, our food was 1 1/2 hours and then one persons was cold. We loved our waitress though and knew it was not her fault. We were given a discount and a free desert but we are reluctant to bring out of town guests there again. Maybe not during play season at least."

  • "Dragonfly is a great place for healthy interesting food choices. The service was good but the noise level a bit high. It's a wonderful place to dine in when the outdoor seating is available. Lovely outdoor patio!"

  • "Dragonfly is consistently one of the best restaurants in Ashland. Price is medium-high so we only go on special occassions, but we never have had a disappointing meal there. We have taken the grand kids a few times (2 and 4yrs) and it worked there better than most. Worth a try!"

  • "The Yelp and Open Table reviews were good but I was astonished at how much I enjoyed the food and cocktails. I enjoy fine dining and almost never give five star reviews but the Dragonfly cafe merits one. Service was attentive but not fussy. Every item that my date and I ordered was excellent to outstanding. My main regret is that I live 400 miles from the Dragonfly and so will not be a frequent patron although it is almost worth the drive to dine there. EZ John"

  • "We stayed 4 nights in Ashland Christmas 2014. This was hands down the best food we had during our stay. The flavors were very unique and every dish was tasteful. We had chicken wraps and calamari as appetizers and ahi platter and fish tacos as main. Everything was very tasty and the waitress was really nice and attentive. Don't miss out on this place while in Ashland!"

  • "We like the delicious, creative food and the ambiance but the service is painfully slow. First we waited for our menus. Then there was another long wait for orders to be taken. The waiter had neglected to tell us they were out of a popular menu item so one of our party had to quickly select something else. Then came the big wait...AN HOUR until our food appeared. When the food finally came, our waiter did apologize to one of the people in our party and didn't charge for the tea he forgot to bring me. The biggest problem seems to be that the kitchen is overwhelmed."

  • "We booked Dragonfly Cafebefore a show at Oregon Shakespeare Fest because of the many positive reviews it received on Open Table and Trip Advisor. Frankly, we found the experience very average and underwhelming. The restaurant itself is difficult to find. It is tucked under Ashland's Cabaret Theater, housed in an old church, with the entrance on 1st, rather than Hargadine, as the address states. Ambiance was average at best - probably the best you can do spiffing up an old church social hall. It was also warm, stuffy and loud. While service was good, the food and drink was average. Both of our dinners and cocktails were about what one would expect from a basic neighborhood restaurant, but nothing particularly unique or special."

  • "Frankly, I did not expect paper napkins. I expected cloth. From then on it just got worse. Trying to assemble lettuce wraps was more work than it was worth. My leather seat was cracked. No one seemed to really care that we were there. I would not go again."

  • "As we had tickets to the theater for an 8:00 performance, we arrived at 6:15, ordered a glass of wine each...and ordered. We waited and we waited. The waiter finally came by to tell us he'd dropped our dinners!!!!! and the kitchen was remaking them. As my husband had ordered the special we assumed it would be ready in no time. But no, we continued to wait...and wait... We got the waiter's attention, again, and were told the special was in the oven and would be done in 5 minutes. We waited...and waited...The waiter then came, said he would comp our glass of wine and that the kitchen staff was now plating our dinners. Again, we waited...by now it was nearing 7:15; everyone around us had been served. When finally served, little time!"

  • "We had a great dinner @ Dragonfly Cafe our first night in Ashland. It was a super busy so we had to wait about 25 minutes before our food was delivered but when it arrived, it was terrific. Warning: a bit on the spicy side but other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our entrees! It's also a bit noisy however the ambiance is friendly and so was our waitress."

  • "The food was great, but the service was very slow. We saw other people being served that arrived after us and our waitress didn't seem to notice us. We had to flag her down and let her know that we had a play to catch, then she checked with the kitchen. A while later came back to let us know they were starting to plate our food. I wonder if maybe our ticket was lost in the back?"

  • "Whenever my wife and I visit the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, the Dragonfly Cafe and Gardens is always a must for dinner. Although we prefer dining in the garden, rain forced us inside where the ambiance is inviting and cozy. Our salmon dinner was excellently prepared and service was prompt and attentive. We look forward to returning the next time we're in town."

  • "We dine at Dragonfly every time we vacation in Ashland, usually 10 or so days a year. Over those 10 days we dine at there 2 or three times. They have a very unique menu as well as excellent service. The outdoor dining area is beautiful."

  • "Every aspect was top notch. Having been to Isabel's other restaurants, we knew fare would feature fresh, simply prepared ingredients. We started with plantains for appetizer. Scrumptious. My wife and I ordered two different bowls - she Brazil, me Pineapple. Both we very different & equally delicious. We liked that they came with perfectly prepared, plentiful veggies (not a veggie sprinkling like other restaurants), so while satisfying, our meals were tasty without being too heavy. Don't miss the chance to order a Blueberry margarita. We got it with plain vodka instead of jalapeño vodka and it was incredibly tasty. Dragonfly has major yum factor without hype. Service was prompt and attentive. We sat on secluded, peaceful patio."

  • "This cam e highly recommended by a friend who we met there. The design and layout is great, the service so so, and the food rather bland. Even after adding the coconut paste their soup was very watered down."

  • "This is a sister restaurant to Isabel's in Portland. Although we do not live in Portland we go frequently. The menu was fine, but the peanut sauce was very spicy. I confirmed with the waiter that it was not spicy since it is not at Isabel's and he assured me it wasn't. I had to exchange meals with my daughter because she could eat spicy foods. Most annoying was the fact that once we got our food (which took a long time) our waiter never came back to us. We flagged down another waiter to help us. The busboy was good with the water. We waited and waited for our waiter. We watched him attend to the tables around us and not us. We wanted the check and had to ask and wait again. His excuse was that he got "slammed"."

  • "The service is extremely slow and two hours were not enough to eat a single entree and have a drink. The drinks and the dishes came sporadically at different times in various temperatures. Don't try to make a play unless you go at 5pm for dinner. Overall, nice ambiance, but we were seated at a table which was on the main walkway between the bar and the kitchen and had to move all the time. Food was OK, steak was cooked to order, but came kind of warm... There is a potential, but I think I won't go back."

  • "Creative tasty dishes, but our service was very slow between salad and main course, which was half cold when we got it. They were apologetic, and we would try here again."

  • "We had 6:00 reservations and arrived just before that time. It took 10 minutes to get seated. Our waitress took our drink and appetizer order, but it took a while before our waitress came back to take our dinner order. Our appetizer arrived without delay, but it took a long while before our main course arrived. It was a good thing we did not wish to have dessert, as we barely made our 8:00 show. My husband ordered the Ahi tuna and I ordered the Double Happiness Lettuce Wrap. It was awkward to eat- I should have made it into a salad as I saw others do- and it was more than I could eat. We left the meal feeling that the food was good, but not wonderful. The service was slow."

  • "Dragonfly was recommended by a friend so we tried it and we're very glad we did. Great food, wonderful setting , though a little hard to find at first. The sings aren't visible from the garden side, but GPS identified it on the road the garden is on. Worth the extra work to discover it."
