  • "What to say? The food was delicious, the service was awesome and the decor was beautiful!"

  • "Drago Centro is a perfect spot for sharing a superb meal with good friends. An LA must have!"

  • "Service always excellent. Food is fabulous, and the wine list tops them all."

  • "modern Italian done with style. An excellent choice for downtown dining."

  • "One of the venerable names in italian dining in this city should be ashamed of the service at this restaurant. A beautiful room...good food...utterly ruined by poor service and an incompetent staff. Maybe some refresher training is in order to keep the name of this wonderful food family from floundering! With all the wonderful dining choices popping up all the time downtown I believe this one will be in deep trouble if they dont clean up their service act!"

  • "We had a wonderful experience at our first time at Drago Centro but that was not to be the case this time. We arrived on time for our 5 pm reservation (necessitated by our 7:30 pm opera curtain) and we waited 20 minutes to be seated! The staff was still getting its briefing. Even when the staff entered the dining room, we still weren't seated - we had to remind the hostess we were there. No apology, just a large bar bill. This put a real damper on the evening. Our waiter was nice and paced us well; the food and wine were good. But we had such a sour taste in our mouth that we're not sure we'll be back. Why take a reservation at 5:00 pm if you're not ready to start serving at that time???"

  • "Picked Drago Centro on reputation, partially for Music Center shuttle, which worked perfectly. Restaurant is a large open room, extending onto a glassed-in patio. Pleasant, but elusive staff. I had to try harder than I should to catch someone's attention. Wine list offered a number of attractive choices by the glass. Caesar salad excellent. Tasty burrata suffered from too little heirloom tomato. Spaghetti carbonara 1st course good, but over-cheesed, dominating the dish and making it dry. Venison loin was wonderful -- tender and flavorful. Branzino perfectly prepared, firm and sweet. Bomboloni an ideal dessert choice, light and tasty. 2 kinds of very agreeable bread; like coffee and water, lacked replenishment. Nice evening, not flawless."

  • "The pappardelle with pheasant is a standout. Great cocktails and a vast wine list."

  • "Overall good food. Service moderate ; could be better for the price point. Had a Groupon so value was good"

  • "The case of a great restaurant, just not sensitive to details...requested via OT, for a quiet romantic table for a special occasion. It was not heeded or acknowledged! We were put in the middle of the "theatre crowd" and pressed to order / eat / vacate as quickly as possible. Not the kind of evening we intended to spend in downtown LA. The whole scene could have been avoided if management had read our OT request and shown just a little personal interest in obliging our stated request. It was all about turning tables and getting people food during a specific window, and we got caught in the middle of it. We expressed our "frustation" to the GM, but it was too late to recover the evening. A really bad first impression!"

  • "We went to a show and thought it would be great. After all, We love some of the Drago brothers restaurants. Not this brother, I guess. The food was over priced and not that good. We waited over a half hour for our table and the service was just ok. I wouldn't return. It wasn't very loud, though. That's always a bonus. We could hear our friends."

  • "Without a doubt, the most moist and flavorful piece of chicken in LA! The truffle mushroom sauce was quite tasty as well. Other people in my party enjoyed fresh, homemade pastas...crab fettuccine and spaghetti marinara."

  • "This restaurant needs someone to teach them how to treat customers the way the customers deserve. It was a Friday evening which is understandable that most restaurants are busy. Having said that, we had this waiter (Michael) who we think (giving him the benefit of the doubt) were given too many tables to attend to. Having said that, his attitude was condescending (in our opinion) and was hardly to be seen. We constantly had to stop our conversation to try to find him. We ordered another glass of red wine and was told it was out of stock and agreed to settle for something that he or the sommelier recommended. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for him to bring to us. We placed our dessert order with another waiter because he was not around."

  • "We found this restaurant through the booklet by Jonathan Gold "best 100 restaurants in SoCal", published in the L.A. Times. Drago Centro seemed to be the one that we wanted to try on a weekend stay in downtown L.A. and are we glad we picked it. The food was delicious; the wait staff was attentive without being intrusive; the view of downtown L.A. was wonderful."

  • "An outstanding restaurant in all respects. There was not one area that needed attention. This is truly an outstanding restaurant experience."

  • "We have been to Drago several times. The atmosphere is quite nice. On this occasion the restaurant was full, and a bit noisy, but the meal was excellent. It is on the expensive side, but good for a special occasion or business dinner or lunch. Service is exceptional."

  • "My friends and I went to celebrate our best friend's birthday. I looked into several restaurants in different areas of LA, asked around and in more than one occasion Drago came on top. Well, I must say it was the best choice, from the moment we enter the parking lot, yes, the parking lot the service was great, the elevator takes you straight to the dinning room, nice and open and the patio would be great for a large event. Attentitve service. Let's talk about the food, we all share Burrata with the sweetest heirloom tomatoes and the freshest burrata, ever! My favorites Basil spaghetti alla chitarra. Tagliolini with bay scallops, sea urchin cream, & squid ink and the Roasted corn and ricotta agnolotti. Great selection of wine and desserts."

  • "I usually have a great experience here, but the last time was not so great. The waiter was hard to find and the food was lackluster. I probably won't be going back for a little while."

  • "Excellent food with easy accessible valet parking. The noise level was a distraction. At a table for two we could not hold a normal conversation because we could barely hear each other."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "The olive bread had a olive pit inside and rabbit ravioli had 2 small bones inside. This is not acceptable for a restaurant that I spent about $100 per head there."

  • "Solid Italian food in a lovely space. It's a little confusion how to get into the restaurant but once insides, it's lovely. My party of four arrived early when it was quiet. In a short time, it got crowded and quite loud. I had a hard time hearing my colleagues. Lunch entrees were good. Service was good. I appreciated the offering of the black napkins even before I thought about it. They also remembered that I preferred room temperature water throughout my meal. Initially she was very attentive but once it got busy I found myself calling for her. Very good but not outstanding."

  • "We had a party of four, and everyone enjoyed their dinner. My main course was the duck breast, which was very tender. The atmosphere is open and modern looking, with some view of downtown LA buildings. Outdoor patio dining is available. The service was some of the best we've experienced, with the courses being served to all simultaneously. Also the plates weren't cleared until everyone was done. Extensive wine list with emphasis on Italian wines."

  • "This is the best Italian restaurant downtown. The meat is amazing, the pasta is deliciously prepared. Service is thoughtful. The room is lovely, though large, and sound bounces off the brick walls. We live downtown, and this is our go-to place for a really good meal."

  • "The Father's Day tasting menu was good value. Food and service were good as usual. The front reception had a ditz who didn't seem to know what she was doing. In addition, her faux afro on a white person was not appealing."

  • "This was our third visit to this excellent restaurant and as usual, all went very well. Food, service and price all worked. Parking, while a bit hard to find, was great once you know the drill."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Food was ok, not fantastic, however, the service was not great. Had to wait for waiter, no one came around to see if anything was needed. It was a Saturday night, that should not make a difference in service."

  • "mostly we come here pre-theatre and the crowd is dressed up. But this was just a night of fine dining for us, complete with getting dressed up. There are so few places in LA where you can get dressed up. Our experience was marred, but only ever so slightly, by the man at the table next to ours, wearing a trucker type hat. He and his party were there when we arrived, and still sitting there, hat still on head, almost the entirety of our multi-course, slow paced meal. We asked to sit on the patio, which was lovely, save for the man in that hat. Maybe the patio is where they put people who don't take fine dinning or such a lovely venue, with such fine service, seriously enough to dress for it. we laughed about the man in the hat."

  • "I really enjoyed both dinners recently at Drago Centro. Innovative cuisine with a home made touch is what makes Drago a restaurant worth repeating. Seasonal ingredients and some unique dishes always surprise. They can't all be winners, but if you want to try something new give Drago a try. If you want home cooking show up any time and you will walk away very happy. White truffle portions are very fair and fresh. Anything with clams is good, and of course you can't go wrong with Pasta. Branzino to meats will all be excellent. "

  • "BAR: We sat at the bar while we waited for our guest the drinks and the services at the bar was good @ TABLE: Chris our waiter was never there every time we needed something he was never around we had to pour our own wine if we asked for something he will forget I was hosting that dinner for a friend and his wife from Orange County I didn’t want to create a scene and tried to put out a better face in front of my guest FOOD: I was very disappointed with the Chef tasting menu I had high expectations from this restaurant my wife & I have been there for lunch but never for dinner I don’t know how they got their 3 stars and labeled the best restaurant to visit I will not recommend it to anyone and will not go back to this Drago Centro again. • "Loved the food and the ambiance, the different sections within the restaurant that allow you to find just the right spot. Beautiful and exceptional food........our waiter was somewhat indifferent, I think because we brought our own bottles of wine. We had to remind him to refill our glasses, had better luck with the bus boys/servers who were extremely diligent andattentive to us. HE should have taken off the corkage fee for his lack of attention."

  • "Well-chosen wines, modern Italian cuisine, handmade pastas, and a staff whom is enthusiastic about guiding you through it all. Extensive list of Italian and domestic wines available by the glass, carafe, or bottle. Loved the Burrata, octopus salad, Branzino, and a great squid-ink pasta with sea-urchin foam. Delicious."

  • "Informed them we were celebrating a birthday. The waiter never mentioned it. I went to the hostess and asked her if she knew about the bday? Yes she exclaimed and then showed me where it was written. The waiter came back and gave a weak apology and then the manager comes over and pours us some terrible champagne! Too little, too late! One plus, the salmon was good."

  • "We are repeat customers. The food and service are still up to high standards. We had to push the receptionist to get a seat in the quieter main section of the restaurant and not in the patio section where she wanted to put us (where a large loud group were seated). The manager just said...we want you to be happy. We were. "

  • "When my husband suggested Drago for our anniversary dinner, I was happy, then began to wonder if we shouldn't try one of the places we haven't been to yet on the new Los Angeles magazine's top 75 list (Drago IS included in that list, btw). We decided to stick with the one we know, and are so pleased that we did. Service was attentive and pleasant. The wine suggestion catered to our desires. A half portion of pasta was suggested since I was ordering 2 other courses and that was helpful. Each dish was delicious (beet salad, octopus salad, garganelli pasta, mushroom risotto, duck and perfectly cooked salmon. We took the tiramisu home to enjoy. The enclosed patio is nice with the running fountain. Parking is a breeze. Returning soon!"

  • "We chose Drago Centro in hopes of fining a new restaurant prior to a show at the Music Center and are, conveniently, part of the shuttle service so you only need to park once! Cocktails: my wife had a lovely vodka drink flavored with sage that was very nice. I had a bourbon cocktail called a Flyaway that was much too sweet so I did not finish it. But from there to the end, everything was excellent. My wife's caesar salad and my sliced vegetable salad were perfect beginnings to our main courses of oercchietti with pork and papardelle with roasted pheasant and morel mushrooms. Our waiter was very nice but, I think, a bit overworked so we had to wait a little longer than we would have liked so no time for desert but we will DEFINITELY be back!"

  • "I had the buratta to start of my meal and it was fantastic. The pappardelle was my main course and it was good but not great. It was a heavy pasta dish that would have been perfect as a winter meal. I think their pasta selection should change for the spring/summer months to offer lighter choices. And I probably should have paid more attention to the menu. Overall, I would definitely go back. Their mixed drinks are delicious! Great bartender! And the service was the best. "

  • "We have been here eight times and service has usually been excellent, but it was spotty tonight, though staff seemed to be working hard. Restaurant was unusually busy with early diners, which delayed our 6:45 seating by a half hour. Once seated there were delays in our being greeted, receiving drinks, completing our ordering. Each course was served promptly from kitchen when ready. I believe they had anticipated a smaller crowd and so were understaffed. I'll still go back."

  • "Salty food & slow service. I've been to Drago Centro over a dozen times and typically enjoy the food and atmosphere. Yet, each time feel that something is off. Last night, we discovered what it is. We are treated discriminatingly and can't figure out why?? Because we are Asian? Women? Or because I bring my teenage daughters? Hostess didn't greet us readily. Didn't seem apologetic that we waited over 10 min to be greeted. The waiter was inattentive. Forgot about my espresso despite three reminders. I want an explanation and an apology! I'm dumbfounded about our experience. Is it a calculating game? In walks young dinners and they treat us as if to say: "We're not gonna make money from drinks, let's treat them as if they are less than". "
