DP An American BrasserieI wanted a trendy place withI wanted a trendy place with good energy in Albany for a client meeting. The DP An American Brasserie fit that well. We were well taken care of, the food was good, and I was pleased on a busy evening to have the wait staff and kitchen work so hard to meet my "no-oil vegan" regimen. They do a very busy happy hour for locals, so if you like that sort of kick start to an evening by all means go (and the drinks are just 5 bucks!). But if not wait a bit till later. Nice to see that, after the bar scene tapered, several people came in and quietly worked on laptops while other tables, including ours, held animated conversations.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner before the show.We booked this restaurant for a quick bite before a show at the Palace Theater. Perfect. Less than a block from the theater. Our waitress was very good. She asked if we were seeing a show and put our orders in promptly. Great timing on her part. The food was wonderful. It was a little on the loud side...not somewhere you would go for a quiet romantic evening. We had a great meal and came back after the show to enjoy another glass of wine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun nightDP An American Brasserie was an excellant spot to start our night before seeing a show at the Palace Theater nearby. For 8 of us each having a couple of drinks (mostly beer) and ordering an appetizer each though, it came to a steep $230 ($280 with tip)... A bit pricey, as some of the apps were smallish, but we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were thrilled to find DPWe were thrilled to find DP (via OpenTable!). The menu is so varied that it was hard to choose our starters/meals: from burgers & steak frites to swordfish (special of day) and Indonesian plates. Freshly made potato chips were very good (dipping sauce was ok). Little pretzel rolls were a really fun alternative to the typical bread basket. Pork dumplings were good (but only 3 per order). Indonesian noodles were tasty; Indonesian salad was boring (mostly a big bowl of greens) but the shrimp in peanut sauce were tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. I'd definitely go back when in downtown Albany.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding visitThe small plates were very generous and delicious. The DP Burger was one of the best burgers ever.I will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat before or after PlayLovely place, great selection of entrees, food was delicious. A little noisey.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent choice for dinnerAn excellent choice for dinner before a show at The Palace - easy walking distance. Restaurant staff was extremely attentive and mindful of our curtain time. Nice selection of cocktails & wines; just a few beers on tap, but a couple of local brews. Our party shared a cheese plate, ordered entree salads & fish tacos for main courses, enjoyed everything. Relaxing & delicious meal. Will be our regular restaurant before ASO concerts!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently greatAlways excellent. Food and service are always top notch.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI absolutely LOVE DP's! II absolutely LOVE DP's! I first started coming here for the great drinks and recently added DPs to my regular dinning spots. My recent visit was wonderful, as always. However, I called the restuarant a few days before my reservation to request a special message on our menus, but when we were seated for dinner, there wasn't anything on the menu. I was a bit dissapointed. No worries though, I will be back!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
