   Food and service were impeccable. The entire staff was so gracious throughout our meal. And the food was both delicious and beautiful. And my husband and I very much loved the fact that we could actually hear each other during our dinner - the noise level was great (meaning, it was quiet in there!).

   The food at Dovetail is always great. Tasty, artful, delicious combination of excellent ingredients. The service was sub-par tonight. Bread was not brought out when asked, 2 waiters brought the dessert menu out to us, they forget that we ordered dessert in the beginning, wine was too warm, and waiter had very bad breathe. I have eaten here several times before and will continue to come here, but our evening there was with the "B" team, not the usual "A" team.

   We came here on Monday night for the vegetarian tasting menu. We had a hard time understanding the man who was giving us our food, but we knew it was all vegetarian so we figured we'd just dig in! Our second meal came to the table and what we thought was "fruit" ended up being ceviche style "fluke," which we only realized after taking a bite. We told the waiter and the staff was apologetic and explained this was a mistake, obviously. To compensate for the mishap, they gave us a complimentary extra dish between courses, but it was a repeat of a tomato salad we already had! So we had the same dish...twice. The way the mistake was handled was less than what we expected from a high end restaurant. We figured maybe a complimentary glass of wine or just taking our drinks we already purchased off the bill, but that didn't happen. We understand it was a mistake, but it was really disappointing in terms of customer service, especially for a mistake that compromised our eating values! As far as the actual vegetarian courses, we were really surprised at how salty everything was. We had really been looking forward to this dinner and were overall let down. On the bright side, the dessert was fantastic!

   I was disappointed in the appetizer and vegetable selections, but the entree was good. The best of all was the Sourdough Beet Bread, best bread I've tasted in years. I'd like to sleep on a bed of it with or without butter.

   We enjoyed a 3 hour food experience at Dovetail ordering the full tasting menu and the vegetable tasting menu with wine pairing. Service was excellent and well paced. Most courses were very delicious if not particularly inventive. I was disappointed in the overly salty polenta and heard the people next to us complaining about the same thing. Heard everything the people next to us said. The party of four was so loud, we couldn't talk to each other when they were talking.

   Nice room. Nice wine. Food was way too salty and ate only .5 the items on the tasting menu. May be our last trip as not worth the price tag

   We had the chef's tasting menu and it was outstanding. My wife had the vegetarian and I had the other choice. Both wonderful. Equally important was that upon being seated we were disturbed by a loud, crying child at an adjacent table. I politely mentioned it and the maitre'd moved us to a nice quiet area for our anniversary dinner. Don't bring small kids to this restaurant please.

    We had to wait more than 30 minutes for our table . My date and I shared 1 regular tasting menu, and one vegetable tasting menu. The sommelier was excellent and fun and made the wine tasting very interesting. The food was very good but never crossed over into amazing which I expect at a restaurant of this level. I like a course to dazzle me with different shades of flavor across the plate. It's most exciting when each bite brings a different layer of complexity to the palate. I felt that the dishes at Dovetail were competent but lacking these layers.
