  • "Creative sushi, great appetizers, delicious drinks! The hand rolls are awesome and the cucumber hand rolls without rice is a diet winner!! "

  • "My wife love this place and have gone a lot. We sadly ended up leaving today before we had anything to eat. The table next to us had two parents and two young girls. The girls didn't want to sit so they were running around the restaurant, sitting on the floor between the table and throwing things. Finally, after I was hit by one of the kids whipping her napkin at her sister, I spoke up.The manager and the hostess both acted like I was the problem. The manager said he hadn't seen anything (even though he was not able to walk to a table because the girls were on the floor) and the hostess told me they are just kids. There isn't anything wrong with this Chuck-E-Cheese vibe, but isn't the place I'll go for a quiet pricey sushi dinner. I'll miss it"

  • "Douzo is my favorite sushi restaurant in the area! The fish is always fresh and delicious and they even offer soy paper and brown rice. The restaurant does a fabulous job of accommodating requests and continuously caters to their customers. Great modern decor and fun music too!"

  • "One of the best spots in Boston for sushi. They always do a great job and have an interesting menu."

  • "The service was inattentive and poor at best and the food mediocre for the prices. I will not be back."

  • "I ordered my favorite lunch special (Omikase, one I've enjoyed for years) and was unpleasantly surprised to find they'd changed it. Instead of seafood naruto rolls, they were replaced with pickled vegetables and the handroll was crab stick instead of tuna. When I asked the waitress, she said the chef was changing it weekly (although the menu still said seafood naruro and nothing about chef's choice for the rolls). So they are charging a premium (it's still one of the most expensive lunch items), but using cheaper non-seafood ingredients for two of the main parts. Not impressive from a place that usually is."

  • "My wife and I come to Douzo at least once a month if not more, and we always have an amazing time and a great server. I don't know what happened this past visit, the server was often absent, missed out on a sale by not coming back to refill my empty glass of wine the entire dinner, and my glass had lip stick on it when they first brought my water and she said "oops I'm sorry" and left it at that. Not to mention we sat at a 2 top in a very forced space in the dining room, hard to enjoy a romantic night out sitting like that. I goess her 8 top of women next to us were more important, still left 20% not sure why. Hesitate to rush back after I have been a 5 year loyal guest if this is what is to come in the future on a busy Saturday night."

  • "Affordable, delectable sushi every time. Highly highly recommend the Red Spider rolls ! Whether it's stopping in for a quick take out or sitting down for Valentine's day as we did this trip, this place is a must visit! Portions are good, appetizers are great and their bottles of wine are not insanely priced like other places in this area."

  • "A friend and I met here last summer and found the service a bit rushed, but this time all was terrific. Our server was attentive and good-humored (I spilled a glass of water!) and the food served hot and flavorful. We had a long 2 hour lunch and never felt we were overstaying our welcome. The host was also attentive and careful in finding a table for us. We'll be back."

  • "We wanted special rolls made that were not on the menu and they were created them with sheer perfection! Duozo has one of the best sushi presentation that you will experience. We eat a lot of high end sushi and we travel a lot! This place is a must if you are in the downtown Boston area. I would highly recommend this hot spot and you need to make a reservation."

  • "My first experience in Duozo was great and the second time was even better. I definitely will go back and have lunch there again when I am in Boston once more. I came from NH and had to go to Boston for some business. Every time I go to Boston, I make sure that I get to have lunch in Duozo. It is so convenient for the T station is right there and it is easy to get to. Not only is the food superb but the service is top notch bar none. Very friendly people and I just love the smiles their staff gives. Food presentation is very good and tastes even better. I am glad I discovered this and I am sure to continue patronizing this restaurant in the near and distant future."

  • "I haven't been to every sushi restaurant in Boston, but I can say this is my favorite of the ones I have been to. On a Friday night after work at 6, we had a reservation and were sat right down. The food was amazing, the service was quick but not pushy, and I have to recommend a cucumber martini to go along with the meal. It was the perfect fit and so delicious. Definitely try a specialty roll, though the classics are all good as well. Would love to go back and try some appetizers and/or a soup."

  • "Best creme brulee - sweet and creamy. The pork bun was AMAZING - so soft and bursting with flavor- I was skeptical at first, but it was a great choice. Also the wild salmon sashimi definitely had a distinct taste than the typical farm raised salmon - more firm and full of meat - must try. The caterpillar roll was definitely something simple, but they've mastered it . And the ribs -- although there were only 3 ribs on the order, the ribs were delicious. Quite pricey, but the food was worth it - simple IS better."

  • "Excellent sushi rolls and a fun scene. The service was a bit off. Main dishes arrived 5 minutes after appetizers, and we were never asked about second drinks. Regardless, this is a fun place and you won't be disappointed by the food or the lively scene."

  • "Everything was great except for the music. It was rather loud and we could not hear each other talk. Yet the music did not seem to coincide with the atmosphere."

  • "Douzo is a great place to try out when you're in the mood for sushi, but bored with the run-of-the-mill sushi dinner that you've had everywhere else. I feel like Douzo offers something different, albeit a little pricey. We loved our meal and felt that it was worth the price because we were truly getting something so fresh, yummy, and different that the sushi we are used to. We will come back here, for sure."

  • "Some of the best Sushi i've had between CT and MA. Beautiful restaurant. Great Spicy Mayo, and whatever sauce is used on the back bay roll was amazing (wasabi mayo or something similar). I tried the oyster shooters and they were super fresh and full of flavor. Service on point, waiters other than our own and even busboys attended to us so we never needed to flag down a waiter. for something. If a drink was empty, someone was there.Literally only problem i had was the rolls were not cheap. 16.95 for the "very small" back bay roll (only 1 maki roll. 8pcs) Basic rolls were mostly under 10.00, but still small, making it close to the most expensive sushi ive ever had. Definitely recommend trying out at least once tho."

  • "Delicious and fresh sushi served in a intimate atmosphere by knowledgable and friendly staff. The restaurant was full by the time we left around 8pm. The menu has a fine selection of American and European wines, , beer is mostly Japanese; Kirin, Asahi etc... the Toro Sushi special is easy to recommend, everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their food as well. I would come here again and plan on doing so soon."

  • "Overall very high quality sushi, and nice specials (i.e. we had fatty tuna and belly tuna). They sat us in a strange table (1/4 circle), which seems better suite for three people (there's a chair on one side, and bench on the other). We were two, and so sat next to each other, made for a strange conversation set up. But other than that, it was a great experience."

  • "Great service by Jacqueline. A bit on the pricey side but probably bc of the drinks. I think total bill for 2 ran around 320. Should have gotten a comp for valet or something."

  • "Our server (tiny spanish girl?) didn't greet us w/ water until 15 min after we were seated. She became more attentive afterwards though. We asked if we could special order the scorpion maki, since it's not on the menu. Asked if it had unagi inside & ebi on top, she confirmed it did. The Agedashi tofu &special makis were tiny! On top of that, the scorpion maki didn't have unagi! I informed my server &she stated their restaurant's scorpion maki does not have eel. She didn't apologize, void item, or offer free dessert like any other restaurant would. Bill came out to be $150 w/ tip, which is totally not worth it for the ok food & small portions. Go to Basho, sis restaurant, instead or better yet, Oishii. Bigger portions, better food &service."

  • "We were a little late for our reservation so we waited at the bar for a drink. I ordered a drink that I thought I would enjoy. It was way too spicy and even though I am hesitant to send drinks back, the friend I was with made this known to the bartender. She was great and said that no one shod drink a cocktail they don't like. She immediately had a drink list in front of me. For dinner our waitress offered up a great suggestion that was no longer on the menu (20-12 delicious). We order a few other rod am there was one we did not care for. Again the waitress removed it and had a new menu in front of us promptly. Great experience."

  • "This was our very first meal after arriving in Boston. We made reservations well in advance since it seemed like it would be a longer wait. Luckily, we were able to be seated earlier than our 8pm reservations. We heard the others that were waiting had about an hour wait so do make a reservation. The restaurant was not that big, but fit enough people comfortably. Our waitress was a little awkward when taking our orders, but at least she got them right. The portions were not that big either (or maybe we were just hungry from traveling) so we did have to order more than expected. The seaweed salad was amazing! So was the Red Spider. All of the food was fresh and tasty. The restaurant was a bit dim; we could have used a little more lighting."
